Powers up quick, Vivid, bright and sharp screen also nice sound. My opinion is that this is a nice quaility TV that will last for years. I really debated on whether I should spend the extra money on this TV or a less exspenive brand. I'm happy that I spent the extra money plus tax for this TV. They didn't have one powered up on display to view. But I know Bestbuy would let me return but I really don't like returning something unless I must. All things considered BestBuys had the best price, in store options, I really like Bestbuy and my new Sony 40" TV. 1080p is a great feature to price ratio at the moment.

    Sony Wins Again

Comparing our most recent (Phillips), which suddenly developed a tuner malfunction and other known brands, We found the quality of Sony ranked highly. We currently have two other Sony products that have also stood the test of time (More than twenty years). After making all of the fine adjustments, we were totally convinced by the sharp picture and vivid colors. The refresh rate is fantastic and no ghosting.

Great picture and easy to set up. Told a friend about the price at Best Buy and he went to the Best Buy and bought the same TV for himself

TV came with a giant crack on the right hand side (size of a fist). Clearly not in new condition. Would not purchase again. Apparently I have to find some way to bus this thing over to best buy to get it replaced. Would not consider buying a large item from best buy again.

This is another great product by Sony. It has a clear, crisp picture. We watch a lot of football and have never had any issues with blurring. Colors are vibrant and sharp. Setup was very simple also. The only issue is the volume limitation of the set. It has good sound quality but is not very loud due to low speaker output. This TV is in a bedroom so it's not much of an issue. If it was located in living room you would need to use a sound bar.

    Best TV's I've Owned

I bought two they were so amazing! Fabulous clear picture and really easy to assemble and hookup to my soundbar/Blueray player. I think after the picture quality what most impresses me is the remote. Small with everything you need to make the adjustments and easy to find functions you're looking for in the TV menu. Almost as if I'd designed it myself. I love the TV's sleep timer and sound leveling functions so I don't have to keep turning it up and down all the time in my condo at night. I read a review that it didn't have sound leveling, but it's not accurate. These TV's were just really well thought out and as a person who already owns two Roku boxes didn't want smart TV's that really aren't working very smoothly or quickly on the apps for people who own them anyway. Maybe in another 5 years when I'm ready to replace my TV's they will have worked out all the smart TV issues and I'll buy one then. Noteworthy that I have a cat and the TV is stable. I'm not worried about it tipping over even if she rubs against it or pushes it around. The stand makes the TV really sturdy and movable as if it's sitting in a TV stand moat of protection. These TV's are like custom items I'd have designed myself so I feel very lucky to have found them!

I was looking for a good quality television, at a decent price point, and this was perfect. I have so far been very happy with my purchase. Great FHD picture quality, and has a good refresh rate for console gaming. The colors are very bright and make movies and games very enjoyable. My only gripe is with the mediocre audio quality, but honestly I have yet to see a low priced HDTV in 2016 that doesn't have poor audio quality. I would definitely purchase this again.

Stylish, thin TV with a very good, bright, and sharp picture, 120Hz refresh rate, 2 HDMI inputs, and full function remote. Compatible with all input formats (cable, satellite, DVD, Blu-ray, etc.). Many fine adjustments and personal settings available, but one important setting is missing: there is no ability to modify the zoom defaults and all result in major image truncation (cutoff). Sound is okay, but a sound-bar or other speaker system would help a lot. Also, audio out (for headphones) is mono only. While not a high end product with "smart TV" functions, UHD, 3D, etc., this is a fine "economy" choice.

Sony is king for a reason...

I've exclusively purchased Sony TV's for over 35 years because they work great and they last--two features I, and any consumer, can appreciate. We have a 10 year old 52" LCD Sony in our living room that works as good as the day we bought it (and literally cost just shy of $3,000...times have changed thankfully). This 40" is for our bedroom and was a breeze to setup. It's is a very basic and user friendly LED TV made by the standard bearers of televisions, Sony. Two HDMI's were enough to fit our needs and we didn't require a smart TV, so this was the one for us! The picture is brilliant, the sound is good, and the price was certainly great. Best Buy was great about matching their own lower price a week after purchase.

Purchased for my newly finished basement. Wasn't looking for top of the line TV just something for when we entertained guests that showed a great picture without all the bells and whistles that I didn't want or need. This TV fit the bill. Initial setup was a breeze; light weight and yet holds its own with the more expensive models on the market.

I favor Sony TV products. This is just a basic TV. It is for a bedroom and is just right for this casual use. We have a 4K Sony in the TV room. So far it is a good picture, ok sound. It is connected to a Sony sound bar and the Dish TV remote works the two together. Set up of the picture is typical Sony simple. Adjust color, hue, brightness etc. to your liking and all is good.

I didn't need a big, smart TV for a vacation cabin without internet. This product provides great performance at an excellent price. Lightweight and easy to move around is a plus.

I needed a 32 - 40 inch for our workout room and reviewed the Sony 40 inch online. It had favorable reviews and all of the features we were looking for. The one requirement was that it would have to be Sony brand. We own four tvs (all Sony) and never had anything but good results with any of them. The picture quality on this one and ease of use is perfect for what we need. Great value for the money.

Best value for the price. I definitely compare when it comes to shopping for big ticket items. Picture quality is most important. Sony delivers a bright, vivid, crisp display. Setup and options were user friendly. Sleek and thin for easy wall mount installation. The only downside is the lack of quality audio (if wall mounted). Would be nice for Sony to improve it's audio issues to their loyal consumers (at least below a 50").

We purchased this TV one year ago and we are still enjoying it. It was easy to set up and has good picture and sound. Also, since many people were looking for larger TVs it was easy to get a good deal on this model.

I was looking around for a television for our family room. After comparing the image quality of various brands including Samsung and LG, I went with Sony because of the fantastic display quality. The only 3 things I have to complain about are: 1. Only 2 HDMI ports - 3 would have been perfect. 2 too few. 2. On TV controls are integrated into the I/O module at the back and can be difficult to reach. 3. As with audio quality for most televisions these days, auto quality is functional but poor.
