It's a good basic HDTV. I like the fact I can control my ps4 with the same remote for the tv. But cant use the remite to play gwmes.

Worked great until my loved one punched it when he was frustrated. Then it quit working. Would not recommend punching!

Brand not as advertised. Picture quality and pricing decent. Registration of product not capable.

This was for a gift. I purchased it because it was a Sony

Have had the TV a little over 3 years, it was a bedroom TV so it was used sparingly over that time. The screen blacked out but you still have sound. You would be better served to get a cheaper TV instead of paying for what is apparently only the Sony name. Had 2 years of Geek Squad purchased on the TV as well...all around a waste of money.

This is the second one we have owned. The first was fine until the grandkids hit it with something and wrecked it. I ordered a new one, it arrived and had 2 thin vertical lines across the picture. I took it back to Best Buy and they did not have another Sony in stock. I took an LG of similar size and price. I would gladly have purchased another Sony, if I could have.

TV lasted a month then the infamous Bravia screen of death happened. For those who are considering the Bravia line do a search on Sony TV's with sound but no screen. Luckily with my rewards membership I was able to return it. 1 star for Sony 5 stars for Best Buy

Came out of the box busted. Bleeding pixels, bright greens instead of blacks, no smart functions. No bueno. Usually have a good track record with Sony products out of the box, but not this time.

Tv stop working after 5 days and I called Sony customer service, they said it out of warranty. Don't purchase any thing belong to Sony their customer service really bad.

We purchased the TV for our bedroom with the intent on placing on top of a dresser. It is a Great size for the room. The Sound was beyond functional as other reviews have complained about. We opted against putting money into a "Smart" tv knowing that the functions are available thru other cheaper means such as our blu-ray player we already have or a Amazon Fire Stick or comparable device. I do have one minor complaint. The stand for the TV is very short . On the flat surface of the Dresser placing the Blu-Ray Player directly in front of the TV actually interferes with the remote receptor located in the center of the TV just below the frame line. It is actually a fairly thin player as well and this was a surprise once i set it up. It was remedied by raising the TV up by about an inch with a board we had laying around A small design flaw but a positive experience otherwise.

When at Best Buy I looked over all the 40 inch TVs and this one really stood out from the bunch. It's not a smart TV but since I already have streaming devices, the issue is moot. I wanted something with a sharp picture, good color reproduction and something that was CEC compatible so it could play nice with my home theater and streaming devices. This TV fit the bill. Talke your time to make some minor adjustments and you'll see the picture on this television really start to pop. I came in with intentions of getting a Samsung, but I'm happy with my choice and I highly recommend.

Huge fan of Sony TVs and still have my 10 yr old 52" Bravia in my family room and continue to receive compliments on the picture quality to this day! This 40" is such a great value & perfect for the master bedroom. Setup was so easy and the picture quality/sound are very good! Extremely happy with this purchase so far!

I upgraded from a 32in and so far I really like this Sony 40in. The picture quality is very good, decent brightness and colors are spot on at least on my view. I wish it had more options in the picture settings instead of just 3, vivid, standard and custom. Now it is a 120Hz but seems to not have motion interpolation known as soap opera effect but for the price I can't complaint for not having it. It has an option cinemotion and the only two settings are auto and off either one I can't tell the difference in the picture. Overall the picture still very good specially when watching Blu-ray movies. The sound is also very good, surprisingly good. It's a shame it only has two HDMI connections still it has the regular video connection, optical audio and an audio out to plug headphones/home audio system/subwoofer. The USB connection to my surprise allows you to connect portable HDD up to 4TB and it supports several formats AVI, MP4 and MKV the most common ones. I'm very happy with this TV even though it's not a smart TV which I knew and it was the one I was looking for. If you're looking for a 40in for a bedroom or even small/medium living room you won't be disappointed with this model.

I have had this TV for nearly a week. It's lightweight, has a clear picture, and the HDMI ports are easy to access. All for a good price. The only thing I don't care for, is that there is no sound leveling. It's loud one moment, and too quiet the next. I'm light and sound sensitive, so it bothers me probably more than the average buyer.

I purchased this tv specifically for gaming and so far I'm very pleased. Picture quality and colors look great. Great tv for the price.
