I am not an effective critic of televisions. This one seems fine and I am enjoying it. I'm inclined to believe the cable service one subscribes to is more the measure of how well one likes their television.

The sony 40" is a great TV. The picture is perfect and the TV is lightweight. I recommend this TV to everyone!

Even though 4k is the new thing most of them do not have a 120hz regret rate for this price and it's destroyed great deal and amazing TV

This TV is wonderful, it starts fast, has a great picture, especially once you turn the brightness down. The speakers are actually not bad for a TV, I'm pleasantly surprised. My only issue is with wall mounting. Once the bracket has been installed on the TV, one of the hdmi slots is blocked, making it next to impossible to plug in a cable. It's possible it's just the bracket I used that blocks the hdmi slot, so double check first if that's gonna be an issue for you.

Every television in our home has always been a Sony. When it came to to replace an older model, we didn't hesitate getting a new Sony. We could have come saved money by getting another brand, but weren't interested. We picked this size as it fits inside a cabinet that we close when guests are over. I always liked that our cable remote assigns the "1" programming code to Sony, but since we went from a Sony to another Sony, no reprogramming was required.

I love the picture on this TV. It is beautiful from any angle. The remote is compact - maybe a bit too compact. I have to look at it fairly closely to make sure I am hitting the right button. I especially hate that the 'Netflix' button is so large and the buttons around it are so small in comparison. It is very easy to hit 'Netflix' when all I want is to display the station information.

Purchased this television for my mom. Easy to set up. Clear picture. Easy to use remote. She LOVES it

This TV was for the kids bedroom. Color is great and easy to set up and connect all toys to tv as well.

In terms of quality and durability, you can’t go wrong with Sony. This picture quality is excellent. The speakers are crisp and clear. It’s easy to set up. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the Smart TV capability is extremely limited. It comes with just a few preinstalled apps and you cannot add anything additional. My 60” Sony has an App Store of sorts, so I was disappointed when I discovered that there was no way to add the other apps I use.

TV has sometimes frozen up or has to be restarted when going into the smart access. The picture is great. Being that it is cheaper it is expected.
