I was in the market for a new TV because I wanted to make the jump to 4K. I was trying to decide between this model or the 49" model but after tons of research I came to the decision to get this TV because it had all the features I was looking for: 4K and HDR. The 49" version has these same features but I think it would have been to large for my room.
Games and movies look amazing in 4K with HDR. I had some problems with picture at first but after minor calibration tweaks I finally got it to where I like it.
The only issues I can think of is that this uses the AndroidTV OS which can run pretty slow at times and I also had issues with my remote turning the volume down on the set at first but that has worked itself out. Overall if you're looking for a 4K bedroom TV or have a small living room then you can't go wrong with this set.

I usually go with Samsung, but this 4K he'd Sony has everything the big boys do only at price that can't be beat. Purchased to go with the Xbox one S as I like playing on a smaller screen as opposed to a 55 or 69 in when gaming. Perfect for my needs. Only a 60hrtz panel but frame rate is software enhanced to 240 and on a console you aren't going higher than 60FPS anyway.

Sony 4k tvs are in my opinion the bees knees!
With amazing clarity the hdr feature really brings your video to life. Android tv- this is a bit odd. The previous models of this TV just used the Sony Entertainment Network features much like you would find on a PlayStation or something. Android TV seems a little bit more like using a cell phone as far as the GUI is concerned but it's not horrible. The new smart TVs are kind of navigating you away from normal television watching and wanting you to go towards a lot of app based things so the main menu appears and you have lots of squares with apps and various features that can be a bit daunting for the older people. I personally think a 43 inch TV is a bit small for most applications but it would go great in a studio apartment or maybe a small bedroom. Anymore with as little bezel as there are on these TVs 48 is prime for most situation and 43 is a bit small. However price inch and what you get in this television it's the way to go if you're on a budget and need a new television.

I read online retail reviews, watched youtube videos, visited TV review websites like rtings.com and even walked into several stores in search for the perfect 40-49 inch counterpart to the all new PS4 Pro. It all lead to this TV and boy did the research payoff. If you don't want a Huge TV or if you don't want to spend over $1000 but get all the enhancements the PS4 Pro gives like 4K graphics and bright HDR than this is a NO BRAINER! It's BRIGHT!, its PRETTY and COLORFUL due to it having a wide color gamut with 10 bit of color. There are no input lag issues. No special tweeking needed for the HDR to work properly. I have no regrets and can't wait to play Horizon Zero Dawn on this tv. It's the center piece to my man cave! I'm pretty sure this TV was made with the PS4 Pro in mind.

I bought this to use in a small ~12x14 room. I didn't want a larger TV that would dominate the room, but I did want something that would last with modern features. This has 4k obviously, but also HDR10 and wide color gamut. No one else has a TV in this size range that does.
The picture quality is very nice with little tweaking required - it's very natural out of the box without any overblown colors a la Samsung. Sony is known for great image processing, and even though it is only a 60Hz native panel, the motion control is great. The 'custom' viewing modes are really more like named presets where you can make them whatever parameters you want.
Android TV is nice...some reviewers don't like it, but the fact that you get the actual Google Play store in full (unlike Samsung Tizen) means you can find tons of apps for most anything.

The picture is amazing. Comparing it to my HD Vizio, the differences are outstanding. Vivid images and superior darkened images are evident. High Dynmaic Rangle combined with 4K is what you want and also is the future of televisions. Don't settle with only 4K which improves sharper details. Purchase HDR which enhances color rendition. Collectively this is what you want and expect in superior viewing.

I put a lot of time and effort into looking for a 4K TV that didn't break the bank but still had great quality. This TV did not disappoint. the 4k is crisp, triluminos display is evident (COLORS ARE GREAT), and black levels are fine (despite what most say). I'll never understand the people who complain about viewing angle since you'll always be watching straight on anyway.
GREAT TV. Only negative thing I'd have to say about this is the built in chromecast sometimes doesn't work. Easy fix by turning the tv off completely and then back on. It's not even the TV's fault, more the software.

I love SONY. I bought a top end Sony 4K for my mail living room TV. I liked it so much I decided to replace my Office TV with a 4K TV as well. The 930E in the living room does not have a smaller sibling so i purchased the XBR43X800D for the office. The picture quality for 4K content and unconverted 1080P looks fantastic, due in large part to the Triluminous display . The sound output is very good. Set up was a snap. Android TV is a new experience, but it makes the TV a lot more smart. Now I'm looking at the 48" model for my bedroom.....

All of my flat screen TV's have been Samsung. I went to my local Best Buy specifically for a Samsung that was on sale. The salesperson graciously answered all of my questions and then gave me this Sony as an option. Luck would have it that an open-box was available. I purchased it and have been very pleased. It was simple to set up. I had it logged onto my home network very quickly. The remote is easy to use as well. The picture is great too. I would recommend this if you are looking for a really good TV that won't break your budget.

I am very happy with the purchase of this 43" Sony TV. I think the picture settings, and internet interface are intuitive and simple to use. The colors are vibrant, and the You Tube, 4K videos look amazing. For those who like to play with their new toys, there are enough picture settings to keep you busy for a good while. I have no problem recommending this TV. Give yourself the gift that keeps on giving. Ratings.com lists this TV as the best in this size range.
One caveat, off center viewing beyond 21 degrees to the left or right, the colors begin to washout. This is not a deal breaker for me, because my viewing angle is very close to center.

The only problem with this tv is the viewing angle. Sony claims a 89 degree viewing angle it's more like 30 degrees before the colors begin to fade. Beside that it's great almost no blur on action scenes and it's only 120 hertz.

I had an older 40 inch Sony in the entertainment center in my living room. I had thought that 40 inch was the biggest size Sony I could put in there but when I took measurements I discovered that the 43-inch TV would also fit. I was very pleased to be able to update to a 4K Smart TV that is even a little bigger than the one I had in my entertainment unit cabinet. I have always been happy with Sony brand televisions. I also have a 55-inch Sony with the same features that this 43 inch unit has.

Sony was proven unbeatable again for their 4k Tvs. The colors are more realistic compared to their competitors to which the colors are overly saturated. I honestly picked up Samsung impulsively; however, I have to return it the next day because of the colors, especially the screaming reds. Sony isn't perfect afterall, as the remote control is pretty much the same as the old school remote and the smart interface isn't that user friendly compares to Samsung. However, the picture and sound is more important to me for a television and I definitely made the right choice in Sony.

We highly recommend this TV. - easy to set up and easy to configure with our apps and media logins. Picture is outstanding. Sync with phone & tablets very easy. No problems with any inputs - we have a satellite receiver, cable receiver, and 2 external devices hooked up to it. We bought this Sony TV to replace an LG of similar specs that was difficult to to reconfigure when new settings were needed - LG's are not worth the money even though the are somewhat cheaper..

does get slow eventually like an android device so need hold power button for 10seconds to full power off and bam good as new. only problem ive had is that im so disapointed that it cant read my movie files on hard drive unlike my previous old lg could. you could use a update on this sony. I would like hook up my external harddrive with movie collections and watch them no problems or loading issues. lg does it better and more simpler in this matter. other than that the quality and inputs offered by this tv are amazing and for the price hard to beat.

I've always purchased Samsung TV's which I always loved. However this Sony is great. The picture quality is incredible. The fact that it's a 4K is also probably making it that much better. It's hanging on a wall, where there is traffic walking by it, but its quite thin and not obtrusive at all. The one other thing that I love about it, is the ease in which I can watch Netflix. There is a button right on the remote.

The Sony is a good value. It has good picture quality for both cable and movies. The viewing angles are good too. The audio is clear and has a nice surround sound to it although it does have to be turned up fairly high to have enough volume to get good bass sound.

This is my first "smart" tv and I love it! Detail and color are perfect. I had an "expert" install for me since the technology is beyond my ability. However, doing the "fine tuning" myself and accessing the functions of the tv are very easy. My only criticism is with the buttons on the remote control. They are very small, even for a woman. A man with large fingers might have difficulty operating.
