I was impressed with the picture and clarity. I should have bought it this TV sooner.

The Sony X800D is the best TV under 1k for the year 2016. It offers features you will only find on tvs over $1000 from other manufacturers. With it's Wide Color Gamut and HDR it will last for years to come. If you are looking for the most future proof TV you can buy right now, but don't want to break the bank, the Sony X800D is a safe bet. There is one issue; the brightness. This TV is not suitable for viewing in bright environments. At least not if you want to experience the full effect. The good side is the brightness is the same no matter how long the image is up, producing a steady picture. If you don't know much about TVs, but still want the best you can get while only wading in the the 4K waters, buy the Sony X800D today!

I had been looking into getting a 4K TV for quite some time now. I wanted one that wasn't too big and also had HDR compatibility. This one was perfect for me! I bought it and it worked great for my Xbox One S. Once I get the Xbox one X I'll already be prepared.

From expert advice in the store, to a seamless unboxing & setup by myself at home, it was an easy & pleasant experience. Everyone loves this model for it's ease of use and performance with sports & movies. I use the built in speakers, and although they could be better, they are certainly more than I expected from such a slim design. The remote is intuitive and easy to navigate through the Android operating system. I paired a Bluetooth keyboard to the TV and it works with many but not all apps. Overall, I am very pleased.

I wanted to love this TV and there are parts that I do. 4K content looks great and I was even surprised that the upscaling with 1080p content was really good. I also like the interface. However, I purchased this TV with the hopes that I would have a good HDR display for all the new games and 4K blu-rays coming out. After much testing with various HDR content (The Martian, Mad Max, Forza Horizon 3), it appears this panel just can't get bright enough to really show off what HDR can do. What you end up with is video that has an almost gray under-saturated, low-contrast look to it which looks markedly worse than the non HDR version. You do get nicer looking highlights (sky, clouds, lens flares, specular highlights) but this hardly makes up for the overall picture. On a TV capable of putting out more lumens, I have a feeling the low-contrast under-saturated video would look "correct" with those bright areas becoming remarkably bright and detailed without getting blown out. Even my wife with an untrained eye thought HDR on this TV looked too muted with the nice highlights not being worth the overall picture sacrifice. I definitely see what they're going for here and I think HDR on a proper bright enough display will be a must have for the future. However, this TV and as far as I can tell, all other relatively low cost 4K HDR displays this year just can't push out the lumens to truly give you the HDR experience you deserve. Side note: if you're planning on using this to watch any standard definition content, don't bother. It turns SD content into a blurry, over-filtered mess. I've run plenty of SD content on other TVs and have never seen it look so terrible. Not that you would want to play a Super Nintendo on this TV but be warned it won't even display a signal from one (likely due to the 240p output). Even 480i/480p signals from a PS2 or Wii look like a mess. I'd only use this TV for 720p content and up.

I read a lot of reviews online regarding this tv, so I decided to take the plunge and see what all the 4k fuss was about. The picture quality on this set is amazing! Definitely worth the money.

Picture looked to have good color and the Android interface was pretty snappy for a TV. But I returned it due to not being a good fit for connecting to a computer, really bad input lag over the HDMI.

Easy to setup and use with voice control remote. Setup with satellite control box definitely requires high speed HDMI cable. Picture quality is exceptional with both 1080p and 4K transmissions.

HDR looks really great on Final Fantasy 15. Sports look great in hd. The 4k image is soo nice i tried it on netflix and wow.... The colors are amazing. This is my 1st 4k tv and loving it .

That's my best decision ever. Sony tv plus 4K ultra hdr best quality ever . And top of that buy from Best Buy . Good service and all info you need . Love it .. thank you Best Buy. !!!!

Great TV, super service and setup Good picture, with great colors

Very satisfied with this TV. Compared its specs/features with available Samsung of same size class and felt this was more for the money. Wish it had a web browser, but no other shortcomings. Beautiful picture with bright colors. Nice!

Picture is great. Setup was simple. High quality. I have been locked into Samsung for some time. They don't make a nice 43" or it is ever available at Best Buy. Will buy another one.

This is the first Sony I have purchased in over 20 years. My last Sony was a Trinitron. In comparison to LG and Samsung, I liked the color and picture of this Sony better. It was also better priced for the size. I wall mounted it in my office and set the sound up as a wall mounted TV. The sound is good when set up properly. I missed it but my son changed the sound option to wall mount and it makes a big difference. Great picture and great sound. What is not to like. I went back and purchased a second one for our bedroom. The 4K from youtube is beautiful.. Will do DirecTV 4K when they get it right. Not enough 4K content, but i'll be ready.

I find myself mesmerized watching the TV. Extremely excellent picture. Best in category motion flow (use smooth for lowest jitter), Best picture out of box. XBR43X800D >UN40MU6300FXZA Those are only 2 TVs you should be looking at this size. The negative - this drives me crazy. SONY puts in very old speed Ethernet ports. I have a older very expensive Sony TV with the same issue. Speed of data transfer their Wireless is faster than Wired. I dont do much xbox gaming - mainly PC gaming and it works excellent as monitor too.

Love this TV. Was told at the store that is was 120hz refresh rate but it is only 60hz refresh rate. Would not have spent so much on a tv with a 60 refresh rate but all in all the tv is amazing and I do not notice any difference.

I have only had this set a month and it seems to be operating well. My chief concern is that it pales conciderably when viewing from an angle. If you are viewing from the center the picture quality is very good.

Really looks great especially with hdr. The colors look really vivid and the control is a plus because it has a built in voice control so you can say what you want.

I purchased this for my son who wanted more definition when playing video games. This was perfect and I am now thinking about buying one for myself. The picture quality is excellent and the tv is easy to set up.
