I really wanted to have a quality TV with the Google operating system, so it would be seamless with my other TV/apps, and the selection of TVs this size that do have Google is very limited.
I purchased this as an open box, so the price was right, and it works as it should.
I like the Sony color much more than Samsung's oversaturated color.
The onboard speakers are fine for a smallish (which is the design/size of this TV anyway), but if you really want the deep/loud effects, a soundbar will be nice.

I originally bought a Samsung Q8F TV, but ended up returning that model because it had a defective processor. I decided to get this Sony TV instead. So far, I have had good luck with this set. The Picture quality is very good and it has very accurate colors and is very bright, so this set is suitable for a living space that receives a lot of natural daylight. The Sound quality is also pretty good. While the sound won't beat the performance from a good sound bar or home theatre system, it is fine for casual everyday use. The Google TV interface works good, but can be a bit more confusing to use than the smart interface on a Samsung set. one good thing about Google TV is that it doesn't seem quite as locked down as other smart TV OS and gives you more flexibility in customizing, etc. I like that this set has a good amount of connections. including 4 HDMI, optical out, and an LAN port. There is also Wi F and it is compatible with 2.4/5 and 6 ghz bands. I use the optical out to connect to an LG soundbar. One thing to note is that the TV can only output Dolby Audio and not DTS audio. I have the TV directly connected to my internet gateway using LAN.
This set has many different features. One thing to mention is a quick menu that allows you to directly set backlight brightness, audio output, Bluetooth, eco settings, and an option to switch the screen off and play audio only. This is useful if you want to stream music and save energy by not having the screen turned on.
This set has many other features, but it will take to much time here to list everything. One other thing to note is when the TV is used in a brightly lit room, it has excellent picture quality with great color and brightness however, because this is not OLED, It will not be able to produce true deep blacks, such as with content that has black bands at the top and bottom of the screen. While an OLED set would produce ink blacks in the letterboxed area of the screen, This set won't do it as good since it doesn't have local dimming features. Adjusting the picture settings, especially black level and relating settings could help.
I bought this set on sale for $449.99 + tax. I have it connected to a Sony UBP-X800M2 4k disc player and the pair work great together. I wish that Sony had a larger selection of tvs available to compete with Samsung and LG.
Overall, this is a great TV with a build quality that Sony is known for and loads of different features. I'm very happy with it! I would recommend this set to anyone who wants very good build quality, great features, very good to excellent picture quality, and affordability, don't miss this one!

Very good picture, sharpness and color using antenna and apps as signal sources. TV is fairly easy to use, though in my opinion, the controller needs a numerical key pad for direct channel selections. This Sony was purchased because of past experience with Sony TVs and this TV doesn't disappoint.
Delivery, installation and set up was done by the excellent and very capable Greenvile, NC Onsite, Delivery, Installation and Delivery Geek Squad Team led by Josh Hines. Love this Sony Bravia! After having a 40” Sony Bravia for 16 years it was a no brainer to stay with a reliable Sony.
The sound is incredible, and has many functions my non smart tv had, so it is taking some time to get acquainted with them all. The online setup was quick and very hands on.
The only drawback was this tv doesn’t have a place to plug in my dvd player. Had to buy an adapter to accommodate this.
Other than that, can’t say enough about this tv.

The picture quality is what you would expect from a Sony Bravia-excellent. As it is at the lower end of the Bravia line, it does not have all of the bells and whistles that more expensive models in this series have but it has a good quality picture and sound for a smaller room and gives you access to streaming apps through Google. The remote is the one feature that is only adequate. It is very small & while this may be a minor issue, it could be a problem for someone who has dexterity issues as the buttons are very close together. Because of its size, functions are not labelled on the remote. This might also be a challenge for someone who is not used to having to memorize what symbol controls what functions. And, of course, there is no longer any paper instruction manual/quick guide included to describe the functions on the remote so identifying buttons other than volume, channel & power, is a trial and error exercise. However, the remote issue aside, overall, it is an excellent, solid Smart 4K TV from a reliable company at a reasonable price.

I am not reviewing the Bravia 3 43" as a TV but as a computer monitor. I understand this is not a top of the line TV image but here are the things that make it stand out against competitors for a computer monitor:
• The 4K @ 43" is a good combo for desktop, icon, and text size.
• Unlike others, this is an IPS panel. Less deep blacks but much better off angle viewing. Important for hours in front of close viewing.
• In Graphics or Game mode the HDMI port can be put into a real 444 colorspace and text no longer has color fringing. It is really great for computer text.
• Doesn't have burn-in with static images up for a long time.
$500 is great for a computer monitor like this.

Hi User895799,
We're pleased to learn that your Sony TV has really stood out for you as a computer monitor—thank you so much for the thoughtful 4-star rating! The combination of a 43" 4K IPS panel is a fantastic choice for desktop work, offering comfortable text size and crisp icons with great off-angle viewing, especially for extended use. It's wonderful to hear you value the true 444 colorspace on HDMI in Graphics/Game mode for clear computer text, and that burn-in hasn't been an issue for static images. That versatility and dependable performance truly set your Sony K43S30 apart.
Thank you for choosing Sony—hope your day is as smooth as your desktop experience! DiegoV.

I bought four TVs before settling on this TV. I first got a LG oled which I didn’t like. The motion on it gave me a headache. Then I got a Samsung QLED and Neo QLED. I couldn’t get the picture to look right for movies on both TVs and the Neo QLED was way bright. Watched a movie on the Sony Bravia 3 at the demo room at Best Buy while in professional picture mode and decided on this TV. Tested a few movies at home and they all looked really good in professional mode. Sports look great also.
The downside was I had to tweak a few settings to get the TV to work right especially when turning off the TV it would want to restart . Upon buying the TV I had to download the firmware which took about an hour before I could even start using the TV. Also there is no app as far as I know that works with the TV. And there were a few other settings that I had to tweak.

The TV's today are a race to the bottom. The audio is no good and requires additional sound bar or 5.2 system. Those solutions are no good for bedrooms though.
The first TV was defective. Where is the QC in these factories. So that was a waste of time.
The second one is proper and a newer model, as the first one did not have the Bluetooth. But the screen was fractured.
The picture quality for old and new shows is great as what you expect from Sony. However, if you call that a remote I will eat it. It sucks the big one in all cases. Ease of use and the size is a joke and was made for children not adults. I have no clue what is with these people in their cheapest hour as this is not an inexpensive TV compared to others.
The stands are worthless, so expect to purchase a wall mount as I would not set this on a flat surface.
Then Google TV is just that, as if you are using a set top box or cable box, there are extra steps to take to get there. That includes setting everything up for your audio and video through Google TV.
I have been designing and engineering consumer products for a long time and the remote included needs to be changed out by Sony.

I have always bought Sony TVs and i feel they are worth the extra money. this is the first TV larger than 32 in i have bought. its 42 inches. it is a 4K , Bravia 3 TV. unfortunately the cable is only 1080. as a result the picture is not as perfectly clear as it was on my 32 in SONY TV. Streaming is 4K and is not better on the 42 in than it was on 32 in TV. oddly the closer to the 42 in TV you are, the clearer it is. the film on the surface of the new TV gives a very slightly soft quality to the picture. Set up was a pain. Its a google (android) TV for streaming. i am on apple smart phone. My previous streaming service was amazon firestick. i decided to stay with fire stick for streaming which is no problem. there are multiple HDMI ports on the TV. Getting cable to work on the new TV was a challenge but that was due to the awful Spectrum service, not the sony TV, Overall i am happy with the TV. it is not the top of the line sony which costs at least $2000. this TV was only $500 which i thought was a decent price. there are cheaper 42 in TVs on the market, but not a sony.

Hi CovidKing, Thank you for sharing your experience with the K-43S30 4K Bravia 3 TV. It's great to hear that you have been a loyal Sony TV customer and find value in our products.
Regarding the picture quality, it's important to note that the clarity of the image can be influenced by the source resolution. Since your cable service is only 1080p, it won't fully utilize the 4K capabilities of your new TV, which might explain why the picture isn't as clear as expected compared to your previous 32-inch TV. For the best picture quality, streaming 4K content is ideal, but the difference might not be as noticeable on a 42-inch screen compared to a smaller one due to pixel density.
The slight softness you mentioned could be due to the anti-glare coating on the screen, which is designed to reduce reflections but can sometimes affect sharpness.
Setting up a new TV, especially with different streaming devices and services, can indeed be challenging. It's good to know that you managed to get everything working despite the difficulties with Spectrum service.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with your TV, feel free to reach out. Enjoy your new Bravia TV.

I have had this tv for almost 4 months. It started off great. Great picture, good sound and nice size, all for a reasonable price. I was very happy with it. These last couple of weeks it just freezes up and won’t respond to the remote control. I have to unplug the tv and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Plug it back in and let it reboot itself and it will work fine for a few days. I don’t watch this tv everyday. I will be contacting Beat Buy to see what can be done about it. I’ll update my review once things have been resolved.

Hi SharonM, thank you for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that you're enjoying the great picture, sound and perfect size of the Sony - BRAVIA 3. However we're truly sorry to hear about the inconvenience you've had with it. We understand how frustrating it must be having to unplug the TV every time that it freezes. Here are some steps you can try to fix this problem:
1- Turn on Simple IP control, you can do this by going to settings > network and internet > home network > IP control > Simple IP control 2- Clear the cache data and free up some space, in settings go to system > storage > internal shared storage > cached data > select clear 3- Make sure the software is up to date by going to settings > system > about > system software update > update your TV software 4- Perform a Factory Data Reset. If the steps above did not resolve the problem, you can try doing a Factory reset, this will delete everything on the TV including any glitch that maybe causing the problem. Select settings > system > about > reset > factory data reset > erase everything
We hope these steps help you to resolve the problem. If the issue persists, do not hesitate to contact our technical support team at: https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=tv

My previous Sony Bravia stopped working and I needed a new tv for my family. This was my first smart tv purchase with 4K capability. I tell you, I was floored when I saw the clear vibrant colors and pictures. It does take some time to set up when you first plug it in, but after that, it’s simple to use and operate. It comes with four hdmi ports and a digital cable port. You cannot connect conventional speakers to the tv, so if you want a good sound, you will want to pick up a soundbar. It’s a perfect size for a small room. Low price but big return. Highly recommend!

I really like this TV. I thought it was easy to setup and add all of my devices. I have the Dish Hopper 4, Apple 4K TV, and blu ray player hooked up to it. The TV switches between the inputs easily. I replaced a Sony TV that was 11 years old for this one. I think the speakers were better on the older one but I could always add a soundbar. The picture is very nice and I have no complaints.
