Best 4K TV seen in the store
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are so very pleased with the sharp, clear picture and great sound (via Sony AV receiver purchased at same time). TV is easy to navigate, logical menus and set-up. Love all the apps that come with it. Am listening to a concert as I type this. Best Buy salespeople were great helping me decide and the installers were thorough. You guys are "10" all around.

Great PC monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did lots of research on TVs to use them as PC monitor and this was at the top was kind of skeptical to get a TV for my photo and video editing but man this set is awesome, colors, rendition, the inpit lag on this one is very very good, perfect for gaming (unless you are a professional gamer, which 99.99 of people are not) very surprised with sony on this set, the HDR os good but not great, menus are kinda dated, even my 280 dlls LG has more fancy menus but this Sony TV runs circles on image quality, has some little negatives of course but, im a happy camper, i love this TV, by the way for gaming and PC monitor get this model (x720e) the newer model(x800e) is not as fast and lag is higher.

Beautiful picture, easy setup, nice value!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Sony after returning a Samsung of similar size and supposed quality. I wanted to use this in my bedroom for gaming and occasional movies. I must say that I am impressed! PROS: * The backlight is nice and bright * Vivid colors * The picture is sharp, 4K is amazing, perfect picture right out of the box * Easy walk through setup * Easy to install with standard VESA wall mount (200 x 100) * Netflix and YouTube are easily accessible from the remote * Amazon Prime is available on home screen as well * Comes with Opera browser/ Vewd App Store * Menu navigation is straightforward * WiFi is reliable and streaming works very well with no issues (in conjunction with your reliable, speedy Internet service and WiFi router, of course) CONS: * Sound quality is okay; just fine for regular use, but it sounds better with a sound bar. * Must use Opera browser and Vewd App Store to find other Apps such as Plex, and while I am able to mark the app as a favorite, there is no way to pin apps to the home screen like in Google Play Store; you must go back into the browser to access apps that aren't on the Home screen * Doesn't have Google Play Store All in all, this is a great TV and I highly recommend it!

Absolutely best screen for anywhere near the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a lot of time evaluating different TVs at my local Best Buy stores. To be on the safe side, I also checked the most competent reviews online, and this model quickly stood out. Having used it now for a month, I found it to be even better than I thought possible. Both 4K and HD content looks better than on other TVs in this price range, and even OTA (Over The Air) Standard Definition material looks jaw-dropping as long as the bit rate for the channel is decent. Upscaling from a 1K ("Full HD") Blu-Ray player looks really good. This model is one small notch below the very best for watching in a completely 100% dark room. If that's how you watch, spend another $300 on the X900 series of the same TV. I always have some light on in the room, so I do not miss anything in the picture quality department. [I have 25 years of experience with professional video, so I'm a lot pickier than average.] And the remote is great also, it has Netflix and YouTube buttons for convenience, and operates Sony Blu-Ray players perfectly. Love it!

Great picture, good back lighting.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought /tried two other TVs from a brand we already own (and like) but found the backlighting caused the picture to be too dark for our liking despite many different calibration attempts. The Sony has a great picture and was easy to set up. The only issue I have, and was not told when we purchased, is that it is preloaded with certain apps, like Netflix; however other apps, like HBO Go, are not preloaded and can not be downloaded! Had to buy a Fire Stick to add more apps! Crazy...smart TV doesn't necessarily mean smart!!

Good 4k tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 4k tv was a good buy for me. Although i paid a little more than i wanted to for a 4k. It is worth the money. I have no complaints at all. Menus are easy to use, set up was simple. I play video games on it mostly and it is great for that. Crisp sharp picture with excellent motion flow. I didn't even have to do any color adjusting. Also like the fact that it has a headphone jack located in the back since i watch tv late at night, that way nobody is bothered by the sound. Love it.

Excellent picture, good price, sensible remote
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has an excellent picture, reasonable price, and a remote control that is sensible. Previously, I purchased an XBR800E because I wanted a TV with a base that would fit on a stand with limited width, and I wanted a higher level TV. The XBR800E has an excellent picture, but the logic of the remote takes you to the internet streaming features first, rather than the settings, which I am usually seeking. In purchasing the X720E I obtained the same great picture with an appropriately narrow base at a much better price, and the remote does not access the internet streaming features features as aggressively. I am very pleased with this TV. Also, I would suggest looking at Sony TVs first when seeking a narrower base to fit on a limited-width TV stand. Other brands tend to have legs that are extended beyond the width of most stands.

Sony 43" 4K tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this 4K tv on sale. Perfect size for the master bedroom. Easy set-up, had it up and running pretty quickly. Pleased with it so far. I'm not a big fan of LCD/LED tv's, preferring Plasma and OLED, but I have to admit the picture quality on this tv is pretty good, even when viewed off-axis. I gave it four stars because of the poor sound quality of the built in speakers. But ultimately, it's a pretty cool tv for a bargain price.

Works well as a 4k monitor
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So originally I bought the 43" TCL, after reading the rtings.com review. Should have been a decent monitor. Well, with that TV I ended up getting a bunch of headaches whenever I used it. I googled around and apparently this can be caused by the backlight refresh rate. In the TCL's case that was 120Hz. Swapping over to this 43" x720E I had a much better experience. Sony's refresh rate is >1kHz so you don't notice any flickering. Therefore, no headaches! Plus, with 43" I can use windows at its native resolution and still have decently sized icons and text. I am using this as a replacement to 3 24" monitors and it works great. It ends up being equivalent to 4 ~22" monitors. And with program to fix your windows snap functions everything is great. I will say though, some of the features of an actual monitor are lacking. When my computer goes to sleep the TV does not turn off. That is to be expected though. Other than that I have it in game mode to reduce lag, and colors are still good. Overall a decent option for a monitor replacement.

good value for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have bought Sony TVs, VCRs, CD players, DVD players, Blue ray players, etc. for several decades. They perform well and are are extremely reliable; I have never had a breakdown. I have a Sony digital multi-band shortwave radio that I have used every single day since the mid 1970's. It's bullet proof. My old 40" Sony HD TV was 10 years old and working like new, but a nearby lightning strike damaged some of my computer hardware and the old TV. So I replaced the old TV with the new 4K Sony. Its blacks and fine color gradations (like in a wide shot of the sky) are excellent - better than I expected from the reviews of this low-end model that I had read. I am particularly impressed by it's ability to upscale a 1080 blue ray signal to 4k resolution. The old Blue Rays look terrific. The new 43" weighs half as much as the old 40" and is actually physically smaller than the 40" because the old 40" had a such wide bezel. I use the built-in streaming ability so I was able to get rid of my old Roku device - less clutter and one less remote to handle. Great technology for a good price.

A good TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the Sony Bravia feature. Good TV with good sound and picture. My only complaint is that the TV's remote did not control my older Sony Bravia Blu-Ray player.

4.5 stars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to set up, good picture for not alot of money, I use it for gaming (PS4 & XBOX one S) I am only comparing to my older sony 1080P TV. The difference in picture quality and lag is noticeable and both are vastly improved. yes I know rtings.com gave it an average rating. (they also say don't trust the review & see for yourself), sure am glad I did. I really don't care about the smart features they work just fine. I only wish it had 1 more HDMI port.

Great tv picture.

First Rate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this after returning a slightly less expensive 43". The deciding factor was not the quality at HD or UHD but at SD. This TV displays classic movies wonderfully without dark corners, edges or muddy pixels that are typlically noticeable with b&w content on lower quality screens. The Bravia also connects to a media PC to play music and videos directly via WiFi. The Chromecast enabled TV I returned required uploading everything to Google. One thing I also noticed with this Bravia is it doesn't generate much heat (unlike the sets I've owned before that have died). As cynical as I am about how electronics are presented in the showroom vs. how they really are at home, I've had this for a week and am extremely pleased....while the ability to add more apps would be nice, the setup controls (sound, wifi, picture) and (most importantly) picture quality are excellent.

Nothing Special
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess it's my fault for not checking things out on this tv before I bought it, but the sony I had prior was a much better tv. This does not have the apps that my previous one did. It also does not have an internet browser so there is really no way to watch or play the apps I like. I have to smart switch it and cast from my tablet. The remote control didn't work from day one, thank God I had the one from my other one. The 4K takes a long time to even out. The picture is blury for a bit until it syncs. It seems to get hot as well. It's easier to replace it than send it in for repair so I'm just dealing with it. I have DirecTV and the picture is fine. It was hard to get my Bose surround sound system to work with it and required purchasing an optical thing (I am definitely not savvy with the proper terminology for cords). Supposedly there is an internal digital antennae, however, it does not pick u[p one local channel. I give it 3 stars. Sony could do better.
