Good for Movies, Better as a PC Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Using this as a PC monitor for work (video editing) and gaming (... ok, mostly just Overwatch). The Good: As a PC Monitor - Supports 4:4:4 and looks great on a Windows 10 PC. Text is nice and crisp, and the color accuracy is very good. It's an IPS panel, so even at an angle the image quality is very good. The TV itself is fairly light, enough so that I was able to attach it to my multi-monitor mount without issue. Gaming - Very low input lag compared to other TVs in this class and price range. Rtings.com has it at about 19.7 ms. Not as good as some of the higher end PC monitors out there, but good enough for me. Smart Functionality - App selection is sufficient, no Plex though. The apps that are available are quick and responsive. Dedicated Netflix and Youtube buttons on the remote are a nice bonus. Movies & TV - Motion blur is minimal, so fast moving footage looks great. Granted, it's not native 120hz, but the Motionflow tech is pretty good. HDR10 support really shines with 4k blu-ray. Can't comment on the sound as I don't use the tv speakers. The Not-So-Good: It loses a star for a couple minor issues. One being that black levels aren't uniform in darker scenes and images, but you likely won't notice it unless you look for that sort of thing. The second is that after powering on, it seems to default to a higher input lag mode when connected to a PC. If I change the input to a different HDMI and then back to the one my PC is connected to, it goes back to the lower lag mode. Tried a bunch of different settings, nothing seems to affect this odd issue. Happens every time I turn it on. Other than that I have 0 complaints.

Best TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV during 2017 December for 500$ and even today it has not reduced. TV features good connectivity, and the in built apps are stable to work with. Have received atleast 5 firmware update in the last 1 year. I use this with apple TV, Bose soundbar 700, and Antenna Input. I would say the 1080 channels coming in the antenna is feast to watch in this TV. Its brighter, and the sound quality via tv and also in soundbar is awesome. The youtube and netflix shortcuts in the tv remote is nice. The pic off functionality is good as well. Over all a best 4k Smart TV from SONY

Great as a PC Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down the best TV to use a PC Monitor. Fonts are clear and crisp. I tried a couple of other brands before buying this Sony and none of them can touch the display quality of this model. It has Chroma 444 which is a must have if you plan on using it as a monitor. Very pleased with my purchase.

Simply the Best tv Brand in the industry
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony never disappoints, but some don't like the smart features ibut youtube and netflix along with amazon video are the most used formats of any smart tv apps out there ,i also have a Sony xbr850C 3D 4k from spring 2015 until this day works and functions beautifully Sony is Sony Period, don't like the built in smart app's? buy an roku or chromecast whatever floats your boat...You are paying mostly for the Picture Quality ,Samsung,Vizio,LG... maybe much lowered priced for the same thing but it does not deliver Sony's famous quality and all of them know it maybe the High end LG's is the closest thing To any Sony tv's your spending a fraction of a superior quality tv ,LG's in the same price range don't deliver the equal quality far from it,when you go shopping for a TV Think Sony Sony invented HD and 4K Sony was working on the whole 4k format few months prior to the release of PS3 Sony's are high priced i get it but this is like comparing a Lexus Vs a Benz and Toyota vs Kia Sony is the Mercedes Benz of tv's

Sony Support will ignore you
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The KD43X720E worked fine for 2 weeks, on day 15 the screen remained blank after pressing Power on the remote. After removing and re-connecting the brick to ensure voltage was available, nothing changed. Fortunately, the power button on the side worked. The power settings are programmable, and during installation the operational mode was set to Low. That was suspected as being the problem, but after resetting to factory default, the TV still would not power on from the remote, except... The sequence Power Off/Power On with only a few seconds delay works, but let the TV be off for an hour or more and Power On does nothing. Suspecting it was a software bug, Sony support was emailed at https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/contact-email.pl?mdl=KD43X720E&mdltype_id=146&subject=tv Email contacts are reported as being within 48 hours, but after sending in the report you are told "A representative will review your issue and get back to you as soon as possible". ASAP never comes, you will be ignored. Two weeks later I tried again, and once more the request for support was ignored. Don't make my mistake, forget using Support to resolve an issue, if you are within the return window go back to the store and try to get it exchanged (even if the packaging has already gone out in the Recycle Bin). After this experience, I suggest anyone wanting a Sony TV seriously consider the repercussions of buying a product which has no support after purchase. Sony was once a proud and respected name, and its after-purchase support was excellent. Now any more, I suspect you would get better support from the cheapest Chinese brand and definitely better support on an Insignia. FWIW, when power is on the TV is almost fine. It has a quirk that audio output to an amplifier will occasionally blast you out of the room because the variable output will go from the screen's volume setting to MAXIMUM. All in all, this has been an entirely unsatisfactory purchase.

Best 43" 4K on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is hard to find a 43" TV that is both 4K and HDR. I have been impressed with this TV so far. The hardest part it calibrating the sound coming from the TV with the Bose CineMate 15 system I have. I wasn't too impressed by the stock sound from the TV but the picture is excellent. The TV is on the pricey side for a 43".

not smart
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Supposed to be a smart TV, but you're limited to the streaming apps that sony provides to you, with no way to add more. No Sling TV, no Hoopla. To do that, you have to get Fire Stick which defeats the purpose of getting a smart tv. Reason: this is a dumbed-down version of the Bravia, which normally runs on Android OS, so on higher-end ones you can use google play.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.im not sure of image quality or ease of ease... but one things for sure about this "smart tv" .... if you plan to use it as a cable cutter and sign up for "SONY'S" PSVUE app ... Dont , because the app isnt available on the Sony "smart tv"... thats right , sonys own tv streaming service cant be used on their own "smart tv" without help from a roku , firestick or appletv .... smart tv, really???

Screen turned pink!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only a few days after receiving TV, the screen would suddenly turn pink! I would change the channel and went away. I thought it was a glitch that would correct itself.......nope. It is now happening multiple times a day and I need to return. This happened to be the most expensive 43" TV at Best Buy. I got a dud.
