Great Little TV

Google and Amazon voice assistant compatibility, I can cast from my apple devices directly to it, fantastic video quality, but the best part Android TV OS. It is very robust when a lot of other brands are developing their own proprietary platforms. As with reinventing the wheel when there is already a well developed and mature platform, it just doesn't make sense (for the consumer at least.) to buy into others' immature OSs.

Frustrating earphone design defect!

When you plug earphones into the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the TV, the TV speakers are disabled, and there is no setting to have both work at the same time. My wife and I each have hearing issues, and our separate earphones. We want to be able to use our earphones while also having the TV speakers on with volume control. CANNOT DO THIS with the 3.5 mm jack! Her earphones use the optical audio out port, and that one does allow independent control. So I'll have to buy a couple of adapters to split the optical and convert to 3.5 mm jack, plus it took me hours of investigating this issue to give up. Another peculiarity: when you request the BritBox app, it says "not available". Luckily we have a firestick which does support it. Otherwise this is a lovely TV. Just be warned about these two issues. Had I known, I would have ordered a different model.

Reasonably good quality TV, not amazing

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced a 5-year old Samsung 1080p TV with this and found the SmartTV apps to be a big upgrade and the sound to be a downgrade. I was VERY happy to see Apple TV+ become available for this TV - easy download. The user interface for this TV is very well designed. I was also sold on the idea that this TV would upscale an HD picture to something closer to 4k, but the reality is that a non-4k source (such as Comcast) still sucks, even on a Sony. One nit: the mounting bracket is quite low on the TV, so if you're re-using a pre-existing bracket be aware this TV will sit higher than you might have had previously.
