Sony is not all the hype they make it out to be

I bought 2 of them. But, in the end I was really disappointed. It’s a good tv but not sure if it’s worth the price. It’s supposedly a so called “smart tv” but it’s not so smart. I tried everything to watch Hulu on it, including hard wiring the tv to the modem because there was so much lag when I used the WiFi, but that didn’t even work. I spent hours on the phone numerous times with Best Buy, cox communications, Sony and Hulu representatives and no one could help figure out the problem. I even upgraded my internet speed, but it still didn’t work. I was able to watch Disney plus and Netflix without a problem but Hulu constantly buffered and lagged too much that I had to end up buying a Roku stick in order to watch Hulu. Once I installed the Roku, it worked just fine without any buffering, but what’s the point to have a smart tv if it doesn’t work and you have to get a Roku stick anyway? Basically what I learned from all the phone calls, was that Sony’s WiFi hardware is crap. It’s a good tv but not sure if it’s worth twice as much as what the competition costs and if you think it’s a smart tv your wrong because if you want to watch Hulu and not have it buffer and lag every 5 minutes then you need to buy a Roku stick also. I don’t think I will spend twice as much next time to get a Sony, as the competition was just as good and you save money!!

I write a lot of code, and have way too many applications open all the time... So what's that got to do with this TV? I wanted a TV that would work well as my main monitor for my development. The problem..most monitors you can buy for a PC are either too small and geared towards gaming with high refresh rates, or they're a crazy ultrawide display ratio, or they're just too expensive. In steps this TV... Yes, I'm using this TV as a monitor and there are several reasons why it works out great: * IPS screen on the 43" - means the colors don't wash out at an angle * 4k resolution is like having 4x1080p quadrants!!! * 43" is about the max you'd want for a monitor on a desk. Don't have to move your head too much to see the entire screen * Colors are great * Blacks are surprisingly decent * 4k60Hz works great - just have to make sure you have the right cables for your computers * Having a controller to use with a monitor is great when you switch between devices - unlike monitors where you're constantly having to hit some buttons on them Overall, I'm more than pleased with this TV (computer monitor). No, it's not a 120Hz gaming panel, but it works PERFECTLY for my use which is software development, video editing, photo editing.

I purchased the Sony 65 inch Android smart tv before this one for the living room. I loved it so much had to go get the 43 inch for the bedroom. I love how you can download all the apps and watch so much more. Being a movie fan I am in heaven. This tv has a great picture and was easy to use. I highly recommend it!

Good TV and a Good Price

This TV finally went on sale, so we went ahead and purchased it. So far it works well. The picture is much better than our last tv. It was pretty easy to set up. I gave it four stars because the manual could be more informative and the HDMI ARC function did not work well. I don't have any experience with the ARC function, so I don't know if other tvs have the same issue.

I would not of bought it if it weren't for the sales person that help see the great quality that Sony has. I think his name is Derek, you can look at my sales rec't and see. He was great. Superb 4K Sony TV as expected!

Great TV with android OS, easy to operate around with the remote given. Downside is that the TV itself does not have bluetooth feature, can't use it with bluetooth speaker. However, the image quality is superb! The sound from the TV is loud enough too! Highly recommend this TV to anyone!

The remote is easy to use. If you think you might need a 55" take a good look at this model and see which picture you prefer, however, in some cases a larger screen is a necessity. Sony's picture on all models easily beats out the competition Regardless of size, buy a Sony, their great!

Great Set!

Ready like telling the remote what to find on Youtube. Picture is fantastic. Remote on the 43" isn't quite the same as the 65", but just had to get used to it. Set up was easy for me, and I'm usually challenged with this stuff.

Fantastic colors without being overly bright as another oled I tried before this one. Use it just as a dedicated ps5 gaming screen at a desk. Perfect size for being within 48” distance. Color is sharp and not overly bright. Great balance of brightness and tone for gaming with PS5.

Better picture than some other brands I own in the same price range. Two negatives; Optical Digital Audio sends signals to sound bar even when TV is off triggering constant on\off of the sound bar (common problem noted in other reviews) and the lack of Bluetooth support for sound bar connectivity resulting in the only reliable connection to a sound bar is using the HMDI\ARC.

Thanks for the feedback. When you connect only with an optical audio cable, functions which require an HDMI connection, such as power interlock and volume control with the TV remote, won't be possible. Check the link below for more details.

I read that there are some other tv’s with better picture quality at this price range but they’re Chinese brands. I have always had luck with Sony so I opted for this instead. Great sound and picture. Easy to use. Would not play with my old dvd/vcr player even with an adapter. The player is older technology so I totally understand. Great TV. I even think I'll be able to watch my Zoom classes on it.

Screen was too small

My 12 yr old LG 26 in died so I thought replacing it with a 43 in screen would be plenty big. Once I got it home I wished I had gotten a bigger screen so I returned it. I have nothing bad to say about this tv , I just made a mistake on the size.

Challenging updates do have some positives

This is a very good TV, but they have updated it from the one we had first purchased. We are not real tech savvy, so those updates are a bit of a challenge. One of the updates I was pleased to get was the Apple RV app is available on this newer model.
