    I like the TV a lot , I'm having problems syncing sound and picture, I have upgraded my modem and router, thought that solve the problem not yet.

    The processing to get results took way too long. The techs were good but the overall processing was horrendous and the wait times were ridiculous.

    Unfortunately the Sony XBR 43X800H spontaneously turns on. The issue began a few days after installation. Several calls to Sony Tech Support Level 2 have not resolved the issue. The only external devices include an Xfinity X1 cable/DVR box and a Yamaha sound bar. The recommended last resort is a factory reset, which does not guarantee a fix. And I paid Best Buy/Geek Squad to install the hardware and applications, which I would have to redo with a factory reset - money wasted.

    I have had some occasional glitches where I have had to unplug the power cord to reset the TV. I don’t know why but occasionally it seems like the remote doesn’t get a response.

    There is something wrong with the sound system on this TV. It has an echo even with a sound bar. Best Buy has tried numerous times to ‘fix it, but cannot. I am extremely disappointed with this expensive product. Great picture but I am stuck with a TV that I cannot turn the sound up!

    I had high hopes, but Sony baloney strikes again.

    I purchased this primarily for use as a PC monitor due to the good review this series received on Rtings. As it turns out this size does not have the RGB pixel structure of its larger siblings. This unit has an RGBW panel which makes for higher brightness levels at the expense of contrast and color saturation. When you are relatively close as one would be to a monitor the additional brightness is fatiguing. I really wish a company would come out with a quality 10-bit RGB panel in the 40"-43" range.

    Big disappointment

    I have a 43" Sony 800 series from 2016 that has exceeded expectations, so I was excited to be able to purchase this TV for a $150 discount. My excitement was, however short-lived. The first thing I noticed was how loosely the legs attach, such that the television rocks back and forth with the most miniscule amount of force. Poor build quality for a model that MSRPs higher than any other in this size class. The next thing I noticed was how oversaturated the picture was. The 800h has an IPS panel and and IPS panels are inherently lower contrast/higher saturation, but this one looks particularly poor compared to the set I have from 2016. Likewise, the off-angle viewing was nowhere near as accurate as the 2016 TV, which is quite disappointing for an IPS panel. Also disappointing was the motion handling, This TV exhibits much stutter and judder when viewing 24p content and motion interpolation (smoothing) only induces more artifacting whereas my 2016 Sony handles motion flawlessly. To top it all off, the sound quality is horrendous. My smartphone speaker sounds clearer than the speaker on this television. This may be moot if you use a soundbar, but it is not possible to use a soundbar unless the TV is wall mounted as it will not fit in between the legs. For what it's worth, this TV does have a couple strengths. It is brighter than just about any other model in this size class. It also has a lot of picture enhancements so it may be better for gaming or use as a PC monitor. It just unfortunately performs poorly for TV/movie viewing.
