    Disappointed

It was an excellent TV until it totally conked out after 3 years of use---no picture, no sound. I phoned Sony support but nothing they told me to do solved the problem. My Best Buy extended warranty is up and the Geek Squad refuses to come out to fix it even if I pay for the repair. I'll have to find a local repair shop. I expected better reliability from both Sony and Best Buy.

    Don‘t buy a Sony TV

Do yourself a favor, and never buy a Sony TV. I bought this TV 10 weeks ago and most of the time it will not turn on. If it does turn on, it turns off after around 20 seconds. I used Sony‘s tech support chat; they kept saying something about doing a factory reset. (This won‘t fix a tv that will not turn on or turns off after 20 seconds). They then refused to send someone out to fix the tv or give me a new one. Remember, this tv is still under warranty. If anyone at Best Buy is reading this, please stop selling Sony TVs.

      Hi heyNebraska,

We are really sorry about what happened, and for the inconvenience. This is definitely not the experience we wanted you to have on our premium TV. Let's try to isolate your power issue by following the steps below:

      1. Make sure the AC power adapter is pushed all the way into the AC power IN of the TV.

      2. Make sure the AC power cord is connected securely to a working outlet.

      3. Follow these steps to perform a power reset.

      • Unplug the TV power cord from the electrical outlet.

      • Let the television remain without power for 60 seconds.

      • Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet. Note: If your TV was previously plugged into a power strip or surge protector, plug it directly into the wall outlet instead in case the power strip or surge protector was causing a problem.

      • Turn on the TV.

Your TV comes with a 1-year limited warranty of service. We want to make sure you’re taken care of and help check on your TV. May we contact you directly to assist you? If so, please email the below information to socialsupport@am.sony.com.

HELP!! I tried for 3 hours very late last night to try to set up the tv. i got hung up on connecting the satellite tv receiver to the tv (confusing whether it is Comcast or Dish) in any event, after multiple tries, different ways, the tv is not accepting the satellite tv receiver. i have the HDMI input connected to the tv (is that wrong?) - seems simple, but, i must be doing something wrong. I hate to return this tv. looks nice. I WISH i could make it work.

      Hi Havingbasicproblem,

We are sorry to hear about the issue with your television. This is not the experience we want you to have. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. To use devices (such as a cable box, Blu-ray/DVD player, or USB flash drive) connected to the TV, or to watch TV after such use, you will need to switch the input. Press the INPUT on the remote control repeatedly to select the connected device. Alternatively, press the INPUT or (Input select) button, use the (Left) / (Right) buttons to select a connected device and then press the (Enter) button.

If the television is not detecting your satellite TV receiver, there might be a problem with the connection. Replace the HDMI cable and try again.

If it still doesn't work, we hope to speak to you to resolve this matter, please email us at [email protected] with the following details:
