Hi Techman, We are sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues with your cable box randomly turning off when selecting external cable box input. Some of these issues can be fixed by simply restarting the TV. To do that, simply press the power button for about 5-10 secs while the TV is on. Also, check that your TV is running the latest firmware. Follow the troubleshooting steps below to isolate this issue.

As a workaround, check the [BRAVIA Sync settings] and perform a power reset on the external device (cable box). Also, disconnect the HDMI cable, then connect it again. Make sure that the cable is firmly inserted. If possible try using another HDMI cable. For optimum performance, it is recommended to use an authorized Premium High Speed HDMI Cable (or better).
