I was looking for, 4k - 120hz - Dolby Atmos/Dolby Vision - ALLM+VRR - HDMI 2.1. It checked the box's for me at an affordable price. Watching Disney Plus Content supporting Dolby Vision is incredible on the TV. I was really getting this as a dedicated TV for the new Xbox Series X and PS5. Heard a lot of good things and great reviews. Nothing on the market as of Late 2021 for a 43'' with a reasonable price and features. Setting it up was easy. Adjusting all the settings for my lighting conditions and viewing distance was a real challenge. After switching the Inputs for my gaming consoles to Enhanced format. I unlocked the 4k 120hz. Problem is the audio for starters. Everything sounded muffled and and in a fishbowl. Learned I needed to turn off the surround sound mode. And a few other settings. Now its much better. My next problem was the Picture settings. Of course disabling the motion effects, cause that's a big no in gaming. I just could not dial in the best color settings for the best picture. Then after a few day's I figured out that the TV switches hidden settings depending on the game. Let me explain. When playing Cod in game things looked great. but opening the Xbox guide it was super dark like too dark. but if you exited the game and it took you back to the home screen it will go black and the settings would auto adjust and the Home screen was back to normal. This is very jarring every time turning the TV on, or switching between games or going to the home screen. Sony recently released the Firmware update adding ALLM + VRR support. But it is bad. Anytime I switch to this mode, the input lag goes way, way, way up. sometimes even loosing connection all together. meaning my Xbox controller wont respond. Like pressing a or something I'll wait a solid min before the console can catch up. Very disappointed. I ended up switching back to enhanced format. At $700 I expected better. Sure it was a big step up from my 4k I had, that was when 4k TV's first hit the market. But there is still some work that has to be done. I prefer my Picture setting to stay the same. Not switch every time depending on the content or if I'm on the Console Dashboard. But That means disabling HDR and possibly reverting back to 4k 60hz. But then why did I upgrade just to have to go back to what I was using. I have until Jan 2022 to return for refund. But I'm gonna keep testing and hopefully get a tech from sony to help with the issues. No luck yet. Other than my issues, Watching movies is amazing. Sound is good. Sleek design. Wish this TV had one more HDMI 2.1 port so I could use the E(Arc) for my soundbar. But since that port and one other is HDMI 2.1 there both being used for My Xbox and PlayStation. All in all this is my first Sony TV and again the only TV with these Future proof features in 43''. I could prob do 49'' if there was another model at the same price. I doubt it. Would I recommend this TV. Sadly no. No I wouldn't. I had really high hopes. Kinda stuck now. This is just my experience your mileage may vary. Some people love it. Comes with a lot of bells and whistles but most don't work correctly while others don't function at all. Up to you to decide. -J-

Great, affordable entry level TV for PS5! This has served me well. Not too big to game on with a great picture. -HDMI 2.1 -Variable Refresh (via update) -Updated fairly regularly -4k 120hz

At first I owned a monitor for gaming, but I also wanted the best quality for gaming and something to watch moves and TV. So this TV is best of both worlds, since its equipped with the 2.1 hdmi its run great next gen gaming (Own Xbox series X). I have a small room so this TV is the perfect size. If my TV was to break or something else I would definitely rebuy this.

Previously, I was using a LG CX OLED in my home theater to game on. It was absolutely perfect, but I was fearing permanent burn in which led me to purchase this TV. I decided to build a dedicated racing sim/gaming rig and tried to find a 40-48" TV with HDMI 2.1 to use with the PS5. The Sony X85J was the only TV that seemed to check all the boxes. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this TV performed, especially coming from an OLED. The blacks levels aren't anywhere near an OLED, especially since this TV lacks local dimming, but it is comparable with a decent IPS gaming monitor. Colors are very accurate in cinema mode out of the box. Gaming mode requires a little dialing, but there are youtube videos to help you dial in the proper settings (see HDTV Test's video for the Sony X900H). The HDR is okay, it doesn't blow me away but it is noticeable. Lastly, and this is VERY important, make sure the port you have your PS5 plugged into (there are only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports), you select Enhanced format or Enhanced format (VRR) in the settings under "HDMI signal format." Do NOT select "Enhanced format (Dolby Vision)." If you select Dolby Vision the TV will force the PS5 to output a 1080p signal at 120Hz instead of 2160p at 120 Hz. To summarize, this TV is a jack of all trades, master of none. It does everything it needs to, but does not excel in any particular area. For the price it truly cannot be beaten.

Sony - 43" Class X85J 4K UHD Smart Google TV. I do love this TV. Best TV I’ve ever owned. Clear picture and great sound. Sony makes great looking TVs and this is no different. The remote functions are intuitive and easy to use, and navigating the on-screen menus has also been very easy. After over a year of watching this TV, I’m still blown away by the picture quality. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Just upgraded from a 5 year old 32" 1080 Samsung TV to this new Sony and the difference in picture quality is mind-blowing. I researched a few 43" TVs and was down to either an LG nano cell, a Samsung, or this Sony. I went with the Sony after seeing the TVs side-by-side at Best Buy and comparing the picture. The Sony just looked more natural of a picture - the LG was too bright, and the Samsung a bit too dull. The Google TV that is built into the the TV is also great and was another reason I went with the Sony. I am an Apple user and have used Apple TV the last 5 years, but the Google TV interface feels just as nice, if not nicer than Apple TV. It even has the Apple TV app built in, so I can still watch all my content I've purchased on iTunes, and can rent and buy movies through Apple still. Hulu, and Paramount+ apps are also nice and feel exactly like they do on the Apple TV. It nice having the smart TV built into the TV and not needing the separate Apple TV device. For the cost of this TV I think you have to take into consideration that you save on having to buy a separate Apple TV or some other device - the built in Google TV is really nice. The quality of the TV is also top-notch. There is hardly any bezel around the screen, it is thin, and made of a tough feeling black plastic that almost has a brushed metal look to it. Looks nice. Overall I'm very happy with this TV and would recommend it.

I bought this specifically for my Playstation 5 as it has HDMI 2.1 and true native 120hz refresh rate. No other brand out there makes a 43 inch TV with those kinds of specs. 43 inch is perfect for gaming. Any bigger is too big in my opinion. Overall I am very pleased with the price to value ratio of this TV. However, Jwill say this, I was a bit disappointed in the HDR10+ when it comes to watching TV/Movies. It seems to make everything look over exposed and washed out. I tried messing with several other settings to try and get it just right but no luck. I was however pleased with the HLG setting over the HDR10+ though. Don't get me wrong, you can get this picture to look amazing without the HDR10+ turned on. So overall, yes I would recommend this TV to people. ESPECIALLY for gaming! You can't beat that 120hz at 4K!!!

Excellent television for my viewing needs, purchased last August so I’ve had plenty of time to use it. It has the Google operating system and I stream with YouTube TV. I set up the picture on Cinema mode and turned off the motion setting to eliminate the soap opera effect. The sound is more than adequate, nothing extra is needed. The batteries were low on the remote after six months and the tv wouldn’t turn on. I unplugged it for thirty seconds and replaced the remote batteries and everything is perfect again. I use renewable batteries so I’m not sure if using regular batteries would have given me a low battery warning. Don’t pay attention to the nitpicking, this is a high quality set. It is 4K but I’ve read that you won’t see a noticeable difference on anything smaller than 65 inches and my place is too small for that size, so I’m not paying the extra 10$ a month . Very happy with this model. My last Sony was purchased in 2006 and is still working. I gave it away.

So far so good... purchased approximately one month ago...nice looking smart tv, easy to navigate even for me and perfect size. Got the sound bar and had the Best Buy techs install with all the wires hidden. They did a great job and didn't take long at all.

If you just got a ps5 and are looking for a tv to go with it- look no further. The 43 inch is perfect for gaming. The processor in the tv is super fast. The picture is amazing. I have not experienced any input lag. The one bad thing i saw is it does not have 4k hdr... Definitely recommend this tv for next gen gaming. I got it for a steal. Open box and it was practically new.

Great tv great picture and great for nexgen gaming only 2 ports are 4k@120 hdmi 3&4 and has a mode in the settings to turn on to enable it works amazing with the ps5

Purchased this for my Xbox Series X and I am not disappointed. It runs 4k 120 butter smooth and it checks all the boxes Dolby Vision HDR 10 VRR. This is my 1st Sony since the Trinitron era and I am not disappointed. The colors really pop it produces really deep black levels with no screen bleed at all. The Bravia outperforms several LGs that I have and I highly recommend this TV for all your gaming needs. I do however recommend that you use a seperate sound bar or desktop speaker system to compensate for the less than stellar sound. I currently use a Klipsch pro media THX 2.1 setup for my sound needs. It has optical audio out as well as a headphone jack so it wilconnect to any source.

I'd been watching my old 24 inch Toshiba tv for the last 19 years until it was finally dying. Well let me tell you, my brand new Sony 43 inch X85j has blown me away!!! It not only looks gorgeous, but the picture is simply amazing, the colors are so life like I feel like I can reach out and touch anything on the screen. And the sound is very good....I can't believe I was missing out all these years...I love watching my football games and high definition tv and movies. And the fellow from the Geek Squad was/is a great guy. Thank you Sony and Best Buy, you've made me one very happy guy!!!

Perfect for what I was looking for in a tv. And not spending a ton of money. Works very well with my PS5. Sound quality from the tv speakers themselves, one the best I’ve heard in awhile. I purchased this tv strictly for gaming. So far so good for what I need. What I thought was really cool. You can share play straight to the tv from your smart phone. I’m sure other tv will as well. But this the first tv I’ve purchased in 5+ years. The only downfall I did notice. There is not any physical buttons on the tv.

Best TV I have purchased in a Long time! I bought this 43 inch Sony TV for my master bedroom and I love it! It is like having my own personal movie theater!!! Most people prefer a sleek remote but I do like the larger remote that comes with this model! I can see the words better especially in the evening!

I got this tv for looking at the reviews and it dose 4K @ 120fr a lot of them say you can’t just have to turn Dolby vision off in the tv on the actual tv and over all the tv is more than great to use for a actual tv
