I REALLY Like this tv BUT....

I really like this model and brand so i decided to stay with the x85j cannot recommend the 43 inch model but God willing the 50 inch will be the best also there is static friction at the bottom bezel of which is made of metal and it also had static sound issues

Do not use 43" for PC monitor!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.43" model TV is 3ft from my face, and I can see each group of LEDs, making my screen look like old dot matrix printers or like you're looking through a screen. Everything has jagged edges, and no amount of smoothing in the TV, ClearType text, or graphics settings improves it enough to look like a normal TV. I had the X800D and X800H and had no problems with those TVs, except many dead pixels. The TV is hooked to a 2080 super, so it can only do 4k@60hz HDR, 8bit, full signal, and enhanced settings are set in the TV settings. The photo was taken 3 ft away from the TV where my face is, then I cropped the image to show you what I meant. My cell phone does do some minor smoothing so the letters in the pic do look smoother on the photo than in real life.

Great TV, bad 4k120hz monitor

Something to keep in mind if you're using as a monitor. All of the other features of the TV are very nice though.

This tv can only do 120hz at 1080p

I have tried to change every setting I could find but I’m forced to change the resolution to 1080 to get anything to run at 120hz. Very disappointing.

Terrible for computer use

I bought this TV to replace my 43 inch 4K TCL monitor that I had been using as my primary computer display. This monitor cost 2x as much so I was hoping for something better, but was disappointed. The problems I encountered: 1) Gaming mode switched to some weird thatched pixel scheme that looks ugly. It's similar to the "screen door" effect on some VR headsets. I have to keep the monitor on computer mode for decent images, so that kills the high framerate gaming feature. 2) Computer mode is the only one where I get even slightly decent text, and in this mode the colors had a reddish, washed out hue that I had to correct with my graphics card display controls. 3) The monitor absolutely skimps on red and blue pixel count. Aliasing with red and blue pixels is HORRIBLE and very distracting. (See attached picture) i might have kept this monitor, but this problem is so bad that I am going to return it and go back to a cheaper TCL monitor.

The main reason is that Sony has the best processing of color. The color is fantastic, very natural, excellent color gradient, and the HDR pops just enough to make an impact. Before doing my research, I thought Samsung or Hisense looked better because the color pops so much. However, I came to realize three things that were wrong with these brands. (1) the color pops so much that it completely misses the mid tones and everything looks unnatural. (2) color calibration is way off. (3) they are terrible at reducing 24p judder. Sony has the best color and best motion. I don't have that much space and didn't want to break the bank. It's the first year in a while I noticed Sony mid range TVs had 43" models. The x85j was the best bang for my buck. It doesn't get as bright as the models above it, but it has all the processing power I need. Plus it has HDMI 2.1 so my PS5 looks great. Some other perks: -I can control the PlayStation 5 with the TV remote -Google TV is very easy to navigate -the remote has a mic that you can turn off except for searching for things via voice, like on YouTube (though you can keep it on if you want Google assistant, but that's creepy) -because it's connected to Google, I could log in to my apps really quickly -the settings are very easy to navigate -i connected the PlayStation headset receiver to the TV's USB port and I could use the headset with the TV Cons: -if you don't update it it can very buggy, especially when using devices like the PlayStation and the switch, so UPDATE IT -sounds crappy but I have a low end soundbar -had some bugs with audio syncing at first, so I had to play around with the audio settings and make them very simple. It seems the TV favors Sony surround sound systems and outputs to non Sony sound bars only in a very basic way

Unfortunately all the fancy features you would want on a gaming monitor are pretty worthless when it comes to 4k next gen console gaming. Why? Because Sony PS5 doesn't support those cool features. FINALLY after tons of research I understood what to look for. You need to focus on these few features. 1) 4k 2) HDMI 2.1 3) Refresh Rate This Sony TV checks all those boxes. Buying this tv you are ready for 4k @ 120hz. Because this tv supports HDMI 2.1 IMMEDIATELY I noticed phenomenal picture quality, zero motion blur while playing games like Nba2k21 and madden 21. With the expensive gaming monitors I was getting nice picture but on all 3 monitors I experienced motion blur because the features that prevent blur isn't supported on console. Gaming monitors are for PC gamers not console gamers! Great purchase here! Go for it... I guarantee you will be happy as a ps5 gamer.
