If you just want TV then, this is okay. But, if you want to play either PS5 or Xbox series X/S Games with 4K UHD, with 120hz, it will not work. 120hz will only work if your Xbox/PS5 has a 1080p/1440p/720p resolution. 4K is only for 60hz as a default.

Huge caveat to those looking to use this for PC gaming. This TV does NOT support 4k 120 HDR for PC. It will display properly for Xbox Series X and PS5, as other reviews have stated. Big disappointment with this television and the next comparable TV is 48" OLEDs. Cue the auto response asking if I used the proper cables/HDMI ports and enhanced the input through the settings, I did.
TLDR: Avoid buying if you're looking to use the X85J for a PC. It will not display 4k 120hz HDR

I bought this to serve as a 4K computer monitor with 120Hz refresh rate. Even after applying the settings correctly (the instructions that Sony's customer support spams here in response to every person to turn on enhanced format) I got 4K 120Hz to work, however the image quality is absolute garbage. So you can either use it as a decent 60Hz 4K monitor (in which case - just buy a cheaper monitor, don't waste money on 120Hz) or a really terrible 120Hz monitor (in which case what's the point?)

I must have gotten a defective unit, since when I turned on VRR the screen looked like it was split in half and the right side looked filled with artifacts. I came from a 4k lg ips tv, and the color was much better on it. Also text was much better looking. After adjusting a bit in the nvidia control panel I fixed the text, but it still didn't look as good as my LG. If your using this for just a game console and yours isn't broken like mine was it's fine, but if you're going to use it as a monitor get a IPS screen.

After using this tv for five months I started get black lines in the lower left corner of the screen. I had Geek Squad come out to look at it since I bought the extended warranty. It's still under factory warranty with Sony. Sony will not do anything for me. Do not buy any Sony 43 inch televisions. This is my second one in less than two years. I have to wait until it gets worse and when the factory warranty has expired to get a new one. Sony's quality has also expired. Again, do not buy a Sony television.

Three months later and I am already having problems. There are times when I turn on the TV and the LED indicates that the TV is on, but no picture is shown. The screen doesnt turn on either. Then I cant turn off the TV. It stays frozen. It is disappointing that an expensive product is already suffering. Not to mention that this expensive product still does not have VRR. I am disappointed in Sony.

Unbelievable! Bestbuy needs to have better workers when someone returns an item. This TV was grabbed from where new tv’s were put. When I opened it, it had smudges and fingerprints all over the screen. This TV was sold as NEW” when it was a return and suppose to be labeled as an open box! Now I have to go back to the store and return it. This review is based on it being an open box when labeled as NEW, not qaulity

Nice tv when it wants to work. The TV dose not wake up properly and shows no HDMI signal. I tried different HDMI cables and speeds, different inputs. Different setting, firmware up date. Some times it takes 20 minuets of unplugging, replugging, switching inputs, messing with setting, rebooting the tv, before i can get a picture. Some times it flashes the picture over and over.
I will be returning this junk before I get stuck with it, and probable looking at a different vendor.

Intermittent sound issues. A few months back the sound started cutting out and making a crackling noise. Thought it might be the sound bar system. Not it as it continues when the TV speakers are selected. Then thought it might be the feed from the service. Switched back and forth also changed boxes. Now I’m past the return period but will communicate with Sony for Warranty replacement.

The tv is fine. I feel like it just serves the purpose. The picture and sound is fine. I don’t like the control it gives me . When selecting your input for which part of the tv you want to watch in is confusing. The selection kind of jumps around. When the remote lays close to the tv it does things on its own. DO NOT BUY THIS TV! I have it connected to a PS5 and an Xbox Series X, and at least once every other day, I experience an issue where sound stops coming through the tv. The only way to fix the issue is to either unplug the tv and plug it back in, or restart the tv in the settings. I have only had the tv for a month, and the problem is happening more and more as time goes on. Save your money.

I am a verified customer who purchased the Sony Bravia X85J 50-inch model a month ago on Black Friday and I have to say it's my first time gaming in 4K HDR 10 I am seriously blown away how clear every game looks. I can see why 4K gaming is actually better than 1080p and 1440p. It was about time I upgraded from 1080p to 2160p and the difference in resolution is huge I am never going back to 1080p ever again Especially The Bravia X85J recently received variable refresh rate support and now every game I tested on Xbox One X is buttery smooth And soon my PS5 will also receive VRR Once that day happens I'm going to have the best time of my life No more stutter and no more screen tear i truly recommend the Sony Bravia X85J It's the best affordable gaming TV with HDMI 2.1 support on HDMI 3 and 4 port With VRR HDMI 1 and 2 only support 4K HDR 10 60 Hz with no VRR support But still my Xbox 360 2013 model and PS3 super slim benefit from HDMI 1 and 2. Tried it twice, took it back twice. Unfortunately had problems with dead pixels on both TVs ( 43 inch ). Second TV had finger prints/smudges and light scratches on the screen. Both TVs were brand new. Sony needs to have better quality control. I would be very hesitant to buy a Sony tv in the future.
