I love Sony so this all worked excellent. Works great, excellent picture settings for gaming so big color doesn't blow the picture out and no contrast so greys don't turn black. Excellent value!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: - Beautiful color representation - Incredible Smart features - Connectivity options are plentiful - Audio passthrough (eARC) compatibility is the best of any TV out there Cons: - VA panel only exclusive to 50" & 85" models; the rest are IPS - Horrible contrast on the 43" - 120 Hz comes at a cost to picture quality. Terrible for competitive gaming - Light bleed is excessive to the point of being distracting in my space - Gray uniformity is all over the place - Not bright enough for HDR 10 (Dolby Vision looks ok though) - Grossly overpriced for the performance you actually get I don't really know where to start, outside of saying that this TV is a bitter disappointment coming from Sony. The most important takeaway is that the promising 43" model I was anticipating has an IPS panel with terrible contrast (1200:1, just like the X80J), and the 120Hz is not usable as it sacrifices clarity in text for gaming or standard PC usage. The 50" and 85" models however, DO use a VA panel with improved contrast but at that point, why not spend the little extra and get the X90J which promises better picture quality and better 120Hz implementation? Or get a high-end Hisense that'll perform better than the Sony's for less money. If I wasn't limited to the 43" being the biggest I can fit in my space, I wouldn't consider this TV. At this point, who is the X85J for? People like me looking for a fully-featured 43" in a category that's barren when it comes to quality TVs. This is definitely better than the Samsung Q60A I had until I returned it, but not by much to justify the high price tag. At least bright & colorful scenes look amazing. Fingers crossed for a 43" LG C2 OLED in 2022.

It was a little difficult to set up and figure out how to use my cable box. No instructions with this TV at all. Very disappointed in the streaming services. All I wanted was to view some Youtube videos. It worked one time and now all I get is a black screen. I get to the home page of Youtube and can see all the icons but try to load a video and all I get is a black screen and then moments later an error message. Have tried unplugging from the router (not using Wifi have it hard wired to router with ethernet cable), clearing all the data on the youtube app and that did not help. I don't have time and I am not a computer geek to be playing with this all the time to get to stream something. So much for exploring cutting the cable. I guess I will keep my cable service. I would recommend if you are using a cable service or are very computer savvy.

While we're glad you like the picture and sound quality, we regret to hear you're having an issue when streaming the YouTube app on your Google TV. Please allow us to help you and turn this into a better experience. Check that the LAN cable and AC power cord (mains lead) of the router/modem has been properly connected. Some of these issues can be fixed by simply restarting the TV. To do that, simply press the power button for about 5-10 secs while the TV is on until a menu appears, then select Restart.
Please make sure the app is updated. If still unresolved, the app can also be removed and reinstalled as an additional step. This 43" is no exception and being a smart tv it has netflix, disney and amazon right on the remote making it so much easier than dealing with a roku. Beautiful clear picture with vibrant color. OK, but missing advertised features.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm going to give it 3 stars because it's missing features, but it can be an outstanding productivity monitor for a pc. The main missing features is that it's giving you 50% resolution in 4k 120hz, resulting in a distorted 1440p signal, while the marketing says that you get 4k 120. That being said, if you set this thing to 60hz, game mode, expert 1, lower the brightness to 22ish, and the sharpening to around 20, with all the brightness black optimizations turned off, it provides one of the best images for a pc that i have seen on any monitor of any price. That backlit led, along with the full color gamut is very nice. As far as quality goes...if it's still running in 3 years, I'll pop back in and add a comment :)
