My LG "smart" TV that i replaced with this couldn't access Paramount+, Shudder, and many other newer streaming services since LG had s proprietary operating system and only apps that existed when the operating system was put into production are available. Trust me... you'll want your smart TV to remain capable with new releases. LG told me to buy a stick or other device to plug into the TV to get new apps. Uh, no thanks. Happily switched to Sony and Google. The TV has what I'd call a perfect picture. It's beautifu. All inputs are conveniently located, sound is well balanced, and tools are easily accessed.

Good TV for the money

I found tying it to my cable box a whole lot easier than my Sony Bravia, which still is a pain switching back and forth between cable and my streaming services. I guess Sony has learned a thing it two over the last few years.

Great Computer Monitor!

It replaced a year old 4k 34 inch MSI VA screen. The TV is an IPS screen and looks much better than the dedicated monitor did. At first I was concerned about it not being a VA screen but there is no comparison between the two. The viewing angle when you are this close is important. The VA screen always was darker or lighter depending how I moved. The contrast and direct lighting is noticeable better. My previous computer monitor had HDR but it was not very good. You had to switch it on and off in windows to use it. There is no doubt that the way a TV processes HDR is ten times better. I can now leave windows set to HDR all the time without making text unreadable. The sound and built in TV options are just an added benefit. Unfortunately I have not been able to test 120HZ at 4k, until I can find a RTX 3080. I have a 1080TI and it is too old to support it over hdmi. It does work at 120HZ at 1080p.

The X85J supports the features specified in HDMI 2.1 standard like 4K120, eARC/ARC, ALLM, and VRR(VRR will be available via a future firmware update). The Motion Enhancer of the TV is Motionflow™ XR 960 (Native 120 Hz), Auto mode. To support a 4K 120Hz signal from another device, you will need to set the TV HDMI Signal Format to an Enhanced format for your source device to recognize the 4K 120Hz capability of the TV. Make sure your device is connected to the HDMI 3 or HDMI 4 input on the TV using the supplied Certified Premium HDMI cable.
Select Settings → Watching TV → External inputs → HDMI signal format.
Select the input the device is connected to (either HDMI 3 or HDMI 4), and then change the setting to Enhanced format.

I play my Xbox series x on it at 120hz 4K, although you have to go into input settings and change it to “Enhanced Format” not “Enhanced Format(Dolby Vision) great picture and colors. I really recommend this tv.

Another Xfinity problem

Unfortunately when I went to install the Xfinity app, it was not found. I, then, read that my tv was too big. Only 43", really. I would recommend checking to see if the apps you want are available.

Good Quality smart TV with full function remote.

Google TV however is junk and I will likely end up just using an Apple TV or Roku with it.

Great TV Upgrade

We opted to do this upgrade because we were so blown away with how great was our other purchase: An XBR75Z8H LCD. We had been tempted to go OLED but have been more than happy with this LCD. We moved the older 43" to the basement as it works fine but is not our primary viewing TV. We tend not to upgrade very often because these units tend to last so long that we don't realize the incremental improvements being made over 4 or 5 years -- eons in audio/video technology.

Great pairing with a PS5, even my MacbookPro M1

It’s a great TV for a small room and does an amazing job with clarity and colors. My PS5 looks great with the max resolution settings enabled. I have the most recent Apple TV 4k and works great. I had to turn off Dolby Vision due to some stream apps (non Dolby Vision like Crunchyroll) flickering a green bar when signal is being refreshed. Easiest fix is to use Crunchyroll in the built-in Android TV. I just like the Apple TV Crunchyroll app layout more than Android. This TV also looks amazing connecting my MacbookPro M1 14in! The sound can only use an extra boost like most TVs. Overall, I am totally satisfied with my Sony TV purchase. I would recommend this TV to anyone looking for their next gen gaming console.

No complaints about quality of picture or glare. Google TV is a bit annoying but you can work around that. Sound is very good. A good value at this price point.

Seamless & Stunning Audio & Graphics

So, I researched the field for 14 months and came up with either one of the new Samsung 43 inch TVs or this Sony, the X85J 43 inch, which came with everything I could possibly want - and then some. One of the strong selling points for the X85J over the X80J is the more powerful speaker system. Sony does a superb job of integrating Dolby Audio in this model, important to me since I'm a musician. I actually run it through an analog component system (using the Best Buy Insignia Optical/Coaxial Digital-to-Analog Converter, which works perfectly and at a very reasonable price). The results are stunning. And the picture quality and "smartness" of the TV are exceptional. Everything works seamlessly.

Awesome picture. Xbox users dolby vision is not recognized on the xbox. But it does work 120hz 4k and hdr. Looks great and plays great.

I'm using the Xbox series X with this display so it's not completely compatible, but the Xbox can turn on and off the tv.
