A Major Disappointment

I believe these are all design problems... I don't think I just got a lemon. (1) When you turn off the TV, the Wi-Fi connection is not properly maintained. I often see error messages when I turn the TV back on saying "No Wi-Fi connection" or "Internet connection lost". Most of the time this will resolve itself fairly quickly, but it's still annoying, and sometimes it can take well over two minutes to re-connect. Sony support will most likely respond with a link to an article suggesting you try things like resetting your cable modem and router. This advice is worthless as the fault lies with the TV, not with your network. The only way around this issue is to turn off the Wi-Fi and connect the TV directly to your router with an Ethernet cable. At least that's the only thing that worked for me. (2) I was shocked to find that this TV has some really bad motion problems. For example, a scene will cut to an actor who simply turns their head, and it looks like half-a-dozen frames were dropped (very jerky motion). I'm seeing frame-drops all over the place. Frankly, I never imagined an advanced TV like this with a native 120hz refresh rate and motion interpolation support would have any problems like this, but it does. Once again, the suggestions from Sony have been worthless. I've tried everything possible including doing a factory reset on the TV, but the motion problems still persist. (3) If you wish to use the TV speakers, be aware that there are no sound modes. Fortunately there is a 7-band equalizer in the settings, but it's pretty much worthless. While it sort of works, the adjustment range is so limited that I can hardly tell it's doing anything, so forget tailoring the sound to your liking. (4) I really don't care for the stands that came with this TV. First, they are extremely thin, with very tiny pads on each end. Second, Sony purposely designed the feet so the TV will tilt back on an angle rather than stand up straight. This seems crazy to me, but apparently Sony does this with all their TVs. I had to stick small felt pads under the back feet to correct the problem. It's very unfortunate that Sony released this model before it was ready, and now I'm stuck with all these problems. The motion problems are the worst as there is no work-around.
