I've been a primarily Sony products purchaser for many decades. This TV replaced a Bravia I've had since 2007. It still looks great and functions perfectly. I made the change because my old TV gets very warm and it's in a small space. It's okay in winter. The new Oled barely gives off any heat at all. It was pretty easy to set up, I'm not a tech person. I haven't used all the apps but have viewed 4K and did some experimenting with the appearance and sound. The longer I use it, the more I like it. I got it for $1300 a couple weeks ago, a price I hadn't seen before. It was pretty light. However, unboxing is a bit scary with the very thin screen around the top and sides. Maybe I missed something but there should be a couple places to grab and lift the TV out of the box and set it in place. There are enough warnings about handling it but Sony could make it easier to unbox and move it. When the Best Buy worker put it in our car he laid it flat on the floor of our SUV. We didn't know it was supposed to be shipped standing. As far as performance, it has made me find the right viewing location. My eyes are pretty good at 69 yo but I find myself moving my head to adjust to how clear it looks from different programming. The sound is good enough for me. I don't turn up the volume very much or very often. There are windows in the viewing room but no direct sunlight to affect the picture. I just hope this TV lasts as long as my last Bravia. Last comment, I watch a lot of TV. My previous TV had a lot of hours used. I tried Samsung in the early 2000's and it failed in three years. I tried another five years ago and brought it back because it just didn't look that good.

This Sony Bravia OLED 4K is the Best TV i ever bought. The quality of the picture from streaming to playing games is the best i have ever seen. With light on in the room there is no backlight, so you get an excellent picture. You also have an excellent sound.

I recently purchased two OLED TV, the Sony BRAVIA A9S 48" TV and the LG CX 55" TV. Both TV’s provide awesome picture quality. Right out of the box the LG picture is fantastic with near perfect brightness and contrast, and black settings, no adjustments needed. As for the Sony, you must go into the settings and adjust up the brightness, contrast, and black settings to equal the picture quality of the LG. Sound is another story. The LG sound is sent downward and if the stand is installed, it sounds good because it is deflected outward from the stand towards the listeners. We later mounted the LG on a family room wall and had to use a soundbar for great sound. The Sony is in the master bedroom on it’s supplied stand and found the sound to be excellent! The sound is emitted through the screen that broadcasts towards the watches with good base. For our master bedroom we found a sound bar was not needed. Overall, both TV’s are fabulous and happy with both purchases.

I’ll start off by saying WOW! The picture on this TV is beautiful and the actual TV form factor is aesthetically pleasing. The colors pop off the screen and the darks will have you questioning if the TV is even on. Now the not so good stuff: this TV will do 120hz, but only at 1080p NOT at 4K resolution. Why does that matter? If you game as much as I do and are looking to get the most value out of your hard earned money like me, then you know where I’m coming from. There are other TV’s in this size range with similar specs, but will also support 4K resolution at 120hz and include HDMI 2.1 technology. So why did I not buy that TV instead? I’m glad you asked! Since I’ll be sharing this TV with my spouse who watches shows/movies more than she games and the TV came down to the price point we were willing to spend, it was a no brainer. We have almost every streaming service known to man and each of them run smoothly at the highest resolution. If you are looking for an affordable OLED TV with some compromises, then look no further than this one

Great tv for the first couple years. The software does slow down over time. It’s advertised as having 120hz refresh rate but it does not. It has a motion smoothing technology that gives the appearance of smoother frames but is still 60hz. Overall pretty happy

I've had this TV for a year now and am still amazed every time I watch a movie or show especially in HDR or Dolby Vision. The picture quality and colors are impeccable with perfect blacks and amazing contrast. Best viewed in a dim or dark room but certainly looks fine with ambient light in the room. It also sounds really good for such a small TV. I paid a lot more than the sale price now, so get it while you can as this model will likely disappear forever soon.

We sprang for the 48" OLED TV....when you see it in the store, it's hard to go back to considering the regular LED type screens. We didn't a larger screen due to lack of space, but this one is much larger than our old 40" screen yet it doesn't seem larger, perhaps due to the fact that the older TV had a large frame and speakers underneath the screen, so all that added to the overall size. This A9S OLED has a beautiful, very thin screen with an extremely small frame and with a great looking, almost completely unobtrusive stand. One caveat: when mounted on the stand, the TV sits almost directly on the table top...literally less than 1/4" between the bottom of the frame and the table. It looks sleek and fantastic, but that low position can create a problem if you need to put a soundbar in front as it would block part of the screen. So you would have to buy a separate TV stand to raise the TV higher or alternately, place the soundbar elsewhere. Fortunately, I was able to to put the soundbar on a shelf just below the one the TV sits on, so that worked well for me and I was able to keep that clean, low look for the TV screen on its original stand. Your TV cabinet might not work like this, so keep in mind the possible need for additional costs to buy a different base to raise the TV 3 or 4 inches. TV picture quality: Absolutely incredible, really stunningly beautiful. So fantastic out of the box it really doesn't need adjusting. The built in sound was surprisingly good for what it is, but we still chose to get a Sonos Beam soundbar for richer sound, especially for music. The Sony TV software is really simple, clear and easy to navigate. We can't imagine anyone having trouble with it, and instructions aren't really needed. It's great to have the Netflix, Amazon Prime and others built right in where they are all accessible via the excellent, very thin remote. No more need for Roku boxes etc. Connections are easy: Just plug the Dish HDMI into HDMI 2, HMDI 3 is for an HDMI arc to the Sonos soundbox, HDMI 4 is for my Blu Ray player. These are all behind the TV and all the connections are hidden behind a cover so the back is smooth and cables are hidden. Additionally, HDMI 1 is on the left side for additional use when necessary without having to plug in on the back behind the cover. Overall, this is a really wonderful, state of the art TV with unparalleled picture quality, and Sony seemed to think of everything to make this TV user friendly. The cost is more than many other TVs, but worth it. We've always preferred Sony....this TV replaces a Bravia we bought in 2005 (the sound just went out). And our previous Bravia cost 1K more than this one!

The picture quality is incredible, the motion clarity is great, the remote has a nice metal finish, everything about this tv screams quality. I use it primarily for gaming with ps5 and switch and every single game i have thrown at this tv automatically looks better than I could have ever imagined! This tv also supports 120hz for games that support it and it works beautifully. On top of that the TVs operating system uses android tv. Its fast, snappy, and smooth. The apps on it always work as they should, its a very pleasant experience. Overall its definitely the best tv i have ever owned. If you can get it i highly recommend it.

There have been a lot of reviews online raving about SONY OLED’s picture quality, so I am not going to bore you with more of the same. After watching an LG OLED TV for 3 years, I decided to get one for the bedroom when it came time to upgrade. I decided to go with Sony this time since there is no room for a cinema sound system. The only question is: Does SONY OLED sound good enough without a soundbar? The answer is yes. SONY OLEDs have the best built- in speakers on any TVs. They are located behind the glass about 8” from the sides and can produce high quality sound. I would consider it “near HIFI”. Since the two speakers are only 2 feet apart, you will not be able to tell the difference between left and right channel if you sit more than 5 feet away. It also lacks bass. This can easily be remedied by connecting a subwoofer using an optical cable. I found one online for about $70. Sony chose the Android TV platform, which means we can download games from the Play store. I was able to connect a XBOX controller via Bluetooth. However, very few games on Google Play have controller support. You will also need to insert a USB thumb drive since the TV only comes with 3.5GB of free storage. By choosing Android, Sony can only use ARM based microprocessors. The 2 year old MT5893 does not support HDMI 2.1 natively. Mediatek announced a new chip in April that does and I expect that Sony will roll them out with the next model release.

I love my new Sony Bravia A9 OLED Smart TV. The picture is fantastic, love all the options available, and it is very easy to set up and use. I did research on OLED TV's for 2 months before I purchased the Sony A9 OLED TV. I have had it for a while now and could not be more satisfied. Especially the picture. The colors are brilliant and the black is a true dark black. Makes watching movies and binging TV to life. Highly recommend!!!

Had been waiting for an OLED smaller than 55" to come along so it was between this 48" and the very similar 48" LG OLED. The picture quality is excellent of course. The Android UI is very fast and the remote is easily programmed to control most devices (though it does rely on HDMI control and its built-in database of devices, I don't see any way to have it learn new IR commands). For anyone with sound equipment that doesn't handle DTS (like Sonos), the TV seems to be able to do its own decoding just fine into compatible Dolby formats or multichannel PCM. Minor gripes: Sony's design is a little questionable. 1.) The stand looks nice and is solid heavy metal, but the TV sits flush to the table top making it tricky to lift and move, especially if it's going into a cabinet. This would also make it impossible to set a soundbar in front of without blocking the screen. 2.) The stand gives the TV a slight backwards lean, like a picture frame. (I've seen this on the larger Master Series TVs, but didn't see any indication of it for the 48".) It's not horrible, but I think it's stupid and also for the cabinet it was going in it affected the visibility from the sides. It can be made to sit straight by putting a couple thin metal washers under where the TV bracket attaches to the stand… no modifications required to the TV or stand otherwise.

I use this for films and film editing (I’m a filmmaker) and so each pixel is under a lot of scrutiny when we enter the color grading process. I highly recommend this TV. Sony is superior in picture and audio. I could confidently recommend them. I bought The Sony sound bar and woofer too. PLEASE GET AN ULTRA BLURAY PLAYER. (4K bluray player) They are superior to streams in every way. So many people by a nice tv and then stream. Which is mind blowing.

Fantastic picture quality, crisp refresh rate, setup could not be easier, full function remote control, 4 hdmi, headphone and Bluetooth capability, note that supplied stand has no gap to allow for a sound bar (not an issue if wall mounting) and some people may like tv to produce more volume again no issue if conneting to sound bar or home theater
