Great TV within a Superb Budget

This tv is great. The apps function seemlessly, and videogames play great on this tv. With OLED, the graphics really shine when movies are played. At least 48 inches is the biggest tv size I have ever owned, and I don't mind it. The price point for this tv is good too, you can have a great tv within about a thousand dollars. If you are in the market for a tv and don't need a 65 inch tv, I say go for the A9S.

Glad we listened to the Best Buy sales team. This was the best quality tv for the size we needed. Didn't have to compromise on quality even though we needed a smaller tv for the space. Sound quality is very good even without a sound bar. Stand is not raised like most tv's. Tv sits immediately above stand - funny look, but maybe this is to prevent wobble when placed on a table. I think the Sony picture quality is better than the Samsung. Good picture with new AND old tv shows. Love the remote.

This high-end Sony OLED TV died in less than two years of infrequent use. Sony also does not have replacement parts in stock for this model. This is the third Sony TV that has died in less than three years. When they did replace one under warranty, they sent a lower priced model.

Sony 4K OLED is Clear as Day

I always Buy Sony Products and this TV is amazing. My old 2017 Sony 43'' 4K Regular LED was outdated and the picture doesn't even come close to this Sony 48'' OLED TV. I just plugged in my Sony 4K Ultra High Definition Blu-Ray Player into this 4K OLED TV last . I put my 4K Ultra HD Avengers Endgame Disc into the 4K Blu Ray player and Sony has the Best Picture Quality and it' crystal clear! This TV's clarity and picture quality is Perfect. The contrast, the Blacks, the Color Pops and the Resolution is the best on the market. These OLED TV's are the future. Go and Buy it now!!

    SONY NO BOLOGNA!!!

Only had to switch a single display setting to achieve the closest to perfect picture I have ever seen on a consumer TV. Changed "normal" to "vivid". HUGE difference-it POPS!!! The people on the screen jump out at you. The brightness and clarity and color accuracy and resolution and other parameters are absolutely amazing. The sound is good, too. Much different than all experiences with other TV's. The remote control has smart intelligent learning & voice recognition. This saves time, but the buttons are placed strategically so touch is somewhat intuitive without voice commands. Available connections are plentiful and diverse. So far everything functions well. Interface, warranty registration and use are fast and easy. For example, by using my Google email account registration took only two minutes. The actual screen is very thin which surprised me. The stand is strong and assembled easily. This TV's in our bedroom and window light has nott been a problem with screen washout as noted by others. Yes, expensive, but NO BOLOGNA this TV performs well! No compensation for writing this review. (Retired Broadcast TV Chief Engineer.)

It is an excellent OLED TV. Great for a small room. I was excited to see this product since I own the A955 in OLED. The sound coming fro the screen is amazing. The color and clarity are exceptional. Easy to set up and start enjoying.

This is the sharpest, brightest TV I have ever owned. The contrast between blacks and the other colors is very distinctive. I would recommend this TV to anyone. Price is higher than other brands I considered, but 'you get what you pay for.' I already had a Sony 65" Bravia A9S series TV, and this was the motivation for me buying this TV. I especially love watching football on this TV. The picture is very sharp and it is almost like being there based on the accuracy of the colors and the detail in the picture.

I hate to give this 3 stars... But! It is lacking what I believe to be vital features for gaming going forward. VRR and 120Hz accompanying a slightly larger 55" size would have made this a PERFECT set! But this is Sony, and many of their decisions don't have to make sense! They make.believe! Ok I'll see myself out on that one... Anyway, picture quality is flawless. Out of box it is nearly calibrated, but my panel had very very slight red overtones that needed minimal correction. Sound is the best I've ever heard out of a TV hands down. Absolutely insane. This television itself can simulate surround sound and location based sound for on screen items. They call it 3D audio in PlayStation. The TV can act as a center speaker and instantly pair with Sony's A9 4 speaker setup (which is actually more than 4 speakers) for marvelous enveloping sound. Sony literally means sound and to me they never disappoint there and pricing is honestly very fair, though expensive if that makes sense lol This TV is pretty dim. I get that and I even explain in my C1 review that brightness in the thousands of nits isn't all that important imo. But this is a pretty dark image! You'll probably want to use this for movies specifically in a slightly more concentrated setup and with audio in mind, preferably with their accompanying a9 sound setup. But even there the tv doesn't support true 24Hz flicker free image production being a 60Hz display so it relies on software processing to smooth the image and yadda yada. It's not 2011 anymore. VRR +120Hz native display refresh would solve that! You can get a true 24Hz pull down ultrawide flicker free simple HDR experience on LG C1 whether HDR 10 or Dolby Vision. Why can't you here? So is it really the best movie TV in the end? Aye yai yai! Looking forward to Sony knocking pricing and features out of the park soon. Really hoping! Pretty much everything else I have is of them so I like their ecosystem when it works. So I wanted to LOVE and cherish this set but how in the hell could I pass up on an open box 55 LG C1 with 0 use hours for $200 cheaper than this 48" feature limited set? I was honestly a bit hurt, not gonna lie. Maybe I'll come back in the future Sony if you take these things into consideration.

the picture is great. OLED provides perfect blacks, especially at night. Firmware update allowed us to use appletv app. The motion clarity might not be the greatest but I love this tv. I can sit 3 ft from the screen and it still looks perfect. The android tv software had every app that I wanted. consider the next years model if you need hdmi 2.1 to get the most out of next gen gaming with higher frame rates.

It’s early for this review because I’ve only had the tv for a couple weeks, but so far it is amazing. The picture is gorgeous, it was easy to setup and this is the best Sony I’ve owned. I run an Apple TV 4K and absolutely love Dolby Vision. The sound is also really good. The remote works great - overall I love this tv and it is a good upgrade over my last Sony that I purchased 5 years ago. This is my first OLED and I can see why this set is so highly rated.
