For anyone who isn't using digital cable (Yes, I still have old school cable, without the box - it's included with the HOA fees in our townhouse community), you DO NOT want a 4K TV. Standard definition TV blown up to 4K is awful looking. It's acceptable at 1080P. Same for a lot of the videos on YouTube. I bought a Samsung 4K TV, and with high quality content, the picture was great. But with low quality content, the picture was simply unwatchable. So unless you watch all high quality content, avoid 4K like the plague. After returning the 4K TV, I went with this Sony, and I'm thrilled. Low quality channels aren't perfectly acceptable, and high definition content looks great. Color is rendered fairly accurately out of the box, unlike the Samsung, which required A LOT of adjusting. I'm also happy to report that if you shut off the motion smoothing features, you'll experience minimal Soap Opera Effect. I just don't understand how people can tolerate that, but that's another story. I also appreciate the 1/8th inch analog audio out jack. Very useful. My only negative would be that the remote doesn't have a back light, and there's no quick way to access your "favorite channels." Lastly, if you're using the built-in Netflix features, it's a bit slow. I don't use it at all, as I have a Roku Premiere. The Roku works perfectly with this TV. Overall, I really like this TV so far.

The TV works and looks great. We bought it for a home gym and wall mounted it. The positioning of one of the HDMI ports and the optical output port are blocked by the attachment for our wall mount. Fortunately, this didn't matter to us as a single HDMI port was all we needed. It's unfortunate that it blocks the optical out as it sort of prevents us from adding a soundbar in the future. We did read some reviews that said the volume wasn't loud enough, even when turned all the way up. We do not have any problem with the volume on this TV, and it's loud enough while running on a treadmill and not at max volume.

We replaced our 40" Samsung with this Sony model after doing our research. The TV is lightweight and easy for two people to maneuver and set up. I wish the base was a turntable, but we knew it was fixed when we made the purchase. The remote has a Netflix button that would be darn convenient if only we were movie watchers. We aren't, but we watch a lot of sports and I like being able to see the puck during an NHL game. The picture quality is excellent and the puck is very easy to follow.

The size of the screen is great. I didn't want a smart TV as we have devices we attach for apps, but couldn't get one this size without smart features TBH. The smart OS/features are unobtrusive on this though and don't get in the way. TBH, you don't see them ever unless you go to them directly when switching through inputs. I was worried about that, but this TV is fine in that regard. The bad is the panel uniformity is'nt 100% - but not really noticeable unless looking for it - and the colors are not accurate. The colors being off is the worst part. I don't have a colorometer to properly calibrate, but using calibrations discs and a blue-filter - as good as I could get the colors - it's still not accurate. Reds seem a bit too brownish/darker than they should be. Maybe things are green shifted too much, but trying to adjust the greens anyway from where I settled on for the setting. throws reds/greens off even more. It's like it's not dialed in just right but the next setting in either direction is too far. That said, it's still livable with - it's noticeable to me but not constantly distracting - especially when watching something i just forget about it until I'm in a menu or something. All in all good TV for the price. Not the best, but still good.

As far as LED TVs go, I think you'll be happy with this one. It's a great price and has many nice features. We purchased this for our bedroom, and have been very pleased with it. LED TVs have never been my favorite, but this one really shines above the rest. 4K and UHD were more than I wanted to spend on a bedroom TV, and this one has not disappointed.

The picture on my curved Samsung is excellent. It has the most vibrant, 'real' colors of any TV I have bought. I did not have to adjust any of the color bands. The sound is even good.

Bought this tv after looking for about 6 months. Great color, picture quality for not being 4K. The 1080 is clearer than most I looked at. Got it for a great price too! Love it

I chose this TV after talking to the best buy Salesman for the quality and price. The picture was outstanding on the display in the store and had a very good refresh rate

The picture is amazing it looks great! Smart TV functions are awesome and make it easy to watch Netflix and Hulu very easily.

Was looking for a bedroom TV and Didn't want to spend too much, I had settled on purchasing a lower price no name TV. but was convinced by the staff at best buy to give this a shot as a good overall compromise, Decent pic and startup, Remote Feels old and clunky, Apps kind of slow, all in all decent bang for buck

I've always enjoyed a Sony TV. I still have my first from around 1982 (it still works, even the remote). I bought this one for my bedroom. It is what you'd expect from a Sony. The picture is good quality. The functions and the remote are easy to work with. I definitely recommend this TV for a bedroom or workout room. It's a little small in my opinion for a family tv.

This tv was perfect for the price. Colors are vibrant and the refresh rate works well for video games

We bought the TV to replace an LG that quit working after 26 months. Picture is amazing. Lightweight. Slim. Screen has crashed once on us however, which required unplugging it for 30 seconds to fix the problem.

Unbelievable picture, great color, incredible sound, need a M cable or Sony HDMI cable.

Bought this to replace my LG LCD 47" after returning a LG 4G 47"OLED TV. Very good picture on axis, off axis way better than the LG 4G picture. For the money a very good buy and excellent 1040p reproductions, Crip images and deep blacks, did not take very much adjustment to optimize the quality of the video.

The tv is great the price was so right I like lightness of the tv not heavy at all

This TV exceeds all expectations. It has been super easy to deal with, it is super light-weight. The picture quality is just as I read about. The color is great . There is absolutely no need for a 4K Ultra HD TV when you can have this TV for this price.
