Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the exceptional picture quality, vibrant colors, and clarity of the 49" Class (48.5" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD TV with High Dynamic Range. Many users also appreciate its user-friendly setup, affordable price, and suitability for gaming. While some users find the remote control to be cheap-looking and poorly designed, the overall positive feedback on the TV's core features outweighs these concerns.

I purchased this TV to pair with my PS4 Pro and take advantage of its 4K capabilities, and so far I am very impressed. The colors look great, and I have been impressed by the HDR. The picture really is quite good, especially for a 4K TV under $1000. There input lag is very low, which is great for gaming. I have read that the black levels are not the greatest on this TV (like most IPS panels), but I haven't had an issue with it. The only negative I have is that the sound is not the greatest. But, overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and I would highly recommend this TV for anyone looking to upgrade to 4K, especially those on a budget!

I bought this tv primarily because I was buying a PS4 Pro. I had researched the input lag times for TVs and was avoiding Samsung, and this tv seemed to fit the bill - input lag was pretty decent and it was a 4K HDR. It wouldn't connect as 4K or HDR to my system. It took a few hours of researching my problem to figure out those features are only supported on HDMI 2 & 3, not 1 & 4. So, after swapping my cords around and finding the correct settings in the tv menus to adjust, the tv is finally functioning as it should. I actually had to turn the sensitivity down in game because it was WAY more responsive on this tv. Overall, this tv is great once it was setup correctly. I wish Sony would have a default for its PS4 users, but at least I was able to figure it out with some quick searching. One thing I will do, most likely, is get a sound bar. The sound is very mediocre ... if I'm wearing headphones for my games I don't need to worry, but watching regular tv I almost have to turn the sound on the tv up to 30 (it used to be 11 on my old tv). Rated 4 stars only because of how much effort I had to put into figuring out a simple problem (and I'm tech savvy).

Again Sony has delivered. Excellent picture. Easy to use App. Set up easy. You can not go wrong. Wasn't much more than the Samsung, and totally worth the extra money. We are very happy we returned the Samsung and got this.

My only issue was during setup the HDMI inputs kept shifting to my Amazon FireStick. Something to do with the TV automatically trying to change inputs and my firestick was always on. After disabling that 'feature' the TV works perfect. Excellent picture. Android TV is a great addition I could quickly add my Amazon and Neflix accounts. Sound is weak, but that's expected on these TV's get a soundbar or real speakers instead.

I originally bought the LG equivalent of this TV. The LG was on sale and I ended up folding and bought it. Got it home and really wasn't all that impressed with it. I have heard a lot of people who rant and rave about how Sony TV's are a cut above the rest. This TV was an extra ~$200+ for the Sony model. A few days after I bought the LG the Sony I was really wanting went on sale. Needless to say I returned the LG, I ended up buying a 49in. open-box and saved a decent amount of money and never looked back. This TV is definitely worth spending the extra money to upgrade from a mid-range to this high quality TV. The TV itself looks fantastic and the picture is incredible!

I am becoming a laggard when it comes to new technology primarily due to the high price and constantly improving technology. I find this Sony Bravia to have all the features that I wanted and more. Also, the price was quite competitive. Good news, it came with a printed reference guide to help with the set-up using pictures and words. It has been 10 years since my last new TV so I will be discovering the capabilities of this one for quite a while. The Best Buy sales guy was very helpful in pointing out the features and capabilities of the lesser capable, comparable and more expensive TVs, which helped me choose this one over all the rest.

This is an upper mid-tier set and at this price is very competitive with the 8000 series Samsung - I know because I bought that one as well. The picture quality on this set is very good. Excellent for colors with blacks being on the mediocre side. For audio, I highly recommend a sound bar or similar. A big advantage of this over the Samsung is the range of inputs. For instance, you can connect a component cable to the Sony, but not the Samsung. The Samsung has a better remote in my opinion. This set does great with upconversion and looks very stylish although the overall build quality isn't as good as the Samsung. It has a power brick - similar to what you'd find on a windows laptop. The brick is connected to a really short cable. I used another cable. It basically shows some lack of attention by Sony here. Also, while the Samsung plug goes flat against the wall, Sony has s astandard plug that stick out. So, if you're obsessed with a clean set up, then it's harder to get with the Sony. 5 stars because this set makes the right compromises to hit a good price point with excellent picture quality and overall styling.

I choose this Sony TV because of the lifelike color rendering and picture quality. I also looked at Samsung, but the color rendering is over saturated and appears artificial. I went with the 49" because it fits perfectly next to my fireplace in the family room.

We already had a Sony Bravia that is still going strong after 8 yrs without any problems whatsoever. So, it was an easy choice when purchasing another TV and this time a our first smart TV. The remote takes a little getting used to, a learning curve. I did call Sony to help me set a few things up with the smart TV as alas, there are not really written instructions on this....but the customer service tech also sent me several links to help me as well. The picture is excellent and the sound quality great. I needed a center placed bracket the TV sits on, not side legs, and Sony has that.

I've used Sony products before and always like its quality of work. This TV is great and perfect size for medium size living room. Pros: TrueColor of the screen, decent size, sleek design, apps are great, less/no white or bright light unlike other brand TVs. Great pricing! Cons: Quality of Sound, hence I purchased the sound bar which suffix it. But I knew that before hand so don't regret the purchase. Sony is not specialized in sound so it explains why the quality of sound is not that great. I am enjoying and know for next few years I don't need to purchase another TV.

This TV was a Christmas present for my dad who has been putting off purchasing a new TV for years. I own the XBR850D in a 55", but that TV would be too big for my parents' living room, so I went for the 49" instead. The picture quality and refresh rate are absolutely outstanding on this TV. I think it might be the best picture I've seen on a TV, including mine. The only drawback is that the sound on the TV is mediocre for certain types of scenes (actors talking over music can be difficult). That said, if you have a sound bar or speaker system you'll love this purchase.

This is a fantastic tv with an exceptional picture quality! Haven't watched anything in HDR yet but even regular programming is awesome. Smart TV features are seamless and voice recognition remote control is quite useful. My only gripe (and it's a ridiculous gripe but the only negative I could think of) is the effort required to get to the sleep timer. I would 100% recommend this TV and will actually be buying the same TV in larger size for another room.

I bought this panel @ my local Best Buy after having a mayor issue with purchasing the same panel from Amazon. The design is great, super slim edges. Its super thin, insanely for this entry level panel. Light weight. Colors are so alive. I recommend getting Netflix upgrade for 4K content if you don't have a 4K Blu Ray player. Blacks are deep enough. Speakers are OK ( Bought a soundbar to compensate ). i will buy my PS4 pro soon to test games on it. Overall i recommend this panel. I have never had a bad experience with Sony products.

Whether you want to use your phone or just the TV, this one has all the features. Picture is great, dark blacks and nice color. It is easy to program the TV with the menu and the voice remote is awesome. Google's Android TV is fast and easy to use. So far my only complaint is that many services such as Comcast limit the apps you can log into so you have to get a box. HBOGO for example cannot be used with Xfinity or chromecasted so if you only have 1 box and 2 TVs Xfinity will not let you watch.......Not Sony's fault though.

I chose this 49 inch over the 55 I intended to purchase because this uhd model gave a better picture while on display in store but I wonder if there is any difference at home since I don't have much 4k content. The speakers are very low , volume has to be over 40 . I have added my 5.1 channel external speakers but tv doesn't have inputs for all channels, seems to be only 2.1 . My biggest disappointment is finding the Bluetooth setting but unable to connect to any of my Bluetooth headphones without an adapter for night time viewing. The picture on this uhd is the best I've had and is pretty good but not as captivating as what I saw on display in store and possible no better than the regular 4k 55 inch Sony that was my initial choice .
