Out of the box, the first thing you notice is how thin the TV is. Once set up and running, it's very easy to get to the fine tuning of the picture and sound. Most common apps are pre-installed except for a web browser, but a link for Opera is there and easily installed. Content shot in UHD is amazingly clear, the colors are rich and pretty natural, and depth of field is as good as it gets. Sound is okay in a smaller room, and the simulated surround is noticeable, but for a big room, it will sound better with a soundbar and sub-woofer, or a sound system. People have even said the stand looks really good when looking at "the new TV". Haven't paired a wireless keyboard or PS4 controller yet, but will soon. The Sony 800d TV is beautiful, and will no doubt continue to be state of the art with the 4K processing and Triluminos technologies for years to come. Love this Sony!

great picture -- upgrades regular tv picture -- gaming with xbox 1s is outstanding -- so far very pleased with this set. Was easy to set up with directv - but got a crackling noise when changing channels -- turned off direct tv dolby digital and speaker noise went away. Was worried it had speaker problem --speakers are good -- overall great features at reasonable price.

I love the resolution however i have not used it on a 4k quality type of movies and still looking forward but when watching HD channels, picture perfect. Sound quality is very good but i am living on s studio type apartment about 500+ sqft and i hooked my tv to bose solo II surround system which makes it the best movie watching better to have separate surround sytem if you want to enjoy big screen tv though mine is just 49" for a studio type apartment i enjoy watching than going to a movie theater.

This is a great tv for us. Great price, wonderful picture quality and refresh rate is terrific. We needed a 49-50" size to fit our cabinet top and this was perfect, The legs/stand were really a bonus compared to some of the tv legs. Works Great for us.

The Sony 50inch HD tv is great. The color is fantastic. It was easy to set up as the directions were easy to follow. I always buy Sony tvs and continue to be quite happy with the purchase.

I haven't owned a Sony for a while, but this will change my mind about that! Great picture and even the sound wasn't too bad, but I did add a sound bar. This TV has all the features I needed and then some and we are absolutely enjoying it!

Nice picture, easy set up. Best Buy was out of the 42" version. Darn had to go bigger. I'm happy with the purchase. Can't say if the lg or Samsung would have been better or not. You'll have to make your own decision. I'm happy with mine.

I read many reviews before buying this Sony - once at Best Buy, the agent listened to my needs and recommended the Sony over the more expensive Samsung. Sony TV's have always been my preference, but many of the reviews were rating this TV below the Samsung and new more expensive OLED TV's. I have found this Sony to be great - the picture is beautiful with a decent viewing angle and the sound is fine for most TV viewing (I use my home theatre surround sound for football and movies). I haven't used many of the Smart features yet - setting it up with the on-screen display and remote was a bit clunky.

this tv does everything i need it to. 4k, hdr, smart, multiple inputs, a 3.5mm to plug my older sound system into, great picture quality backed by a great company. ive tried other brands but sony TVs are just a step above the rest.

I tried two other brands (Samsung included) at Walmart, I returned both because they would not work with Cable Tv (I was trying to avoid the need for renting that cable box). Later I found that none of todays TVs have that kind of tuner, so none would work for that. BUT, meanwhile I had tried the Sony from Best Buy. In my opinion, it is far superior in quality, the picture is great, the controls work flawless, and with the Smart Remote I can give vocal requests for a particular song and in a few seconds that song will be playing on my TV, streaming from Utube. This technology is beyond my 72yo mind to comprehend, but I can still enjoy. I've used sony products for longer than some of you have lived, and I have always found quality there. And usually superior performance too.

The color on TVs these days is so great that we didn't think we'd notice any difference buying the 4k model. Boy were we wrong. TV was also very easy to plug and play. At this point I don't have anything negative to say about it.

I recently bought a 49 inch HDR TV from Best Buy, it was one of the best purchases ever, infact, we bought 2 of them, 1 for our den and the other wall mounted in our bedroom...Love the Sonys' and the great service from Best Buy!!

The Samsung 49" 4K HD TV has an exceptionally resolute picture making the viewing experience more enjoyable. The Smart TV function makes it easier to navigate into other streaming apps that allow you to watch other programming.

This TV is excellent quality especially of you are running anything 4K compatible like the Xbox 1. You don't realize how much different everything looks until you see it. Bad news you cannot have anything blocking the base or the remote will not work and there are no buttons to manually switch off. All in all an excellent purchase.

Love my Sony 50" 4K TV. It even has KODI preinstalled on my apps. Have never owned a better TV. I have it hooked up to my Xbox OneS. Watching movies, playing video games, or even just listening to music has never been better!

The television is an affordable 4K option. It has a great picture with decent sound. Mostly, I utilize a soundbar in conjunction when watching sporting events or movies. The only issue I have with a 4K television is not all cable providers stream in high quality 4K. This is worth checking before deciding on upgrading your television.

Nice slim design & light weight. Nice sounding speakers and great picture. Only problem is that I've tried registering the tv w/Sony and the model number doesn't come up. Very Annoyed by that. Other than that I really enjoy it.
