Customers love the 4K Waterproof Action Camera's vivid video quality and excellent stabilization, finding it easy to use and appreciate its compact size. However, some users mention needing extra batteries due to shorter battery life. The reduced fisheye effect is also a positive aspect noted by several customers.

This product is not what I expected it to be. The video quality is OK, not great. The battery life is terrible. The interface is lacking.

This camera was so small that I returned it. To small for me to work buttons. Not what I was looking for.

I went to Best Buy to purchase a video camera and the associate recommended this one. They didn't have any in the store so we ordered it online. When it came it was more of a go pro than a video camera. I'm sure it would be great for someone wanting a go pro but if you are looking for an actual video camera this is not it.

The only benefit over the gopro is the zoom option. Other than that, everything about it absolutely is horrible and the display is nothing in comparison to the goPro and the functionality is 10 years behind.

Thought I bought the Sony FDR-X3000 but when I opened the box it was a Sony FDR-X1000. Box was right product was wrong. Second time this happened to me using BEST BUY.

Have been debating this with Gopro Hero5. I am not using it for a lot of sports event, just want to have a good camera taking videos of kid and family for day to day life and trip.
If I took Gopro hero5, the karma grip seems like a must-have. But that would add another $230 at least. So after I tried sony x3000, I just decide to take this.
Maybe it is not good enough as Hero5+gimbal, but the footage is smooth enough with OIS for day to day usage. And you get something in your pocket which you could use it right away rather than holding the gimbal. Also, the sony x3000 provide decent results without editing which is also a win for me.

It was a toss up between the GoPro5 and this. I originally went with the GoPro5 but was not happy with the image stabilization. I did not want to spend another $300 for a gimbal. I took it back and went with this one and I am happy with the OIS. I also feel the Sony lens has better unedited quality then the GoPro5.
I am going to be using the camera to film my kids and family vacations. I also work in Real Estate and plan on using it for virtual tours. I use it on a tripod for the vitual tours and the unedited quality is great. It is not as good as a $1000 video camera but still way better than expected for only $349. The fisheye effect is much less with the Sony as well.

Took it to the beach last month and shot video in the pool and at the ocean. The quality of the video was much better than expected. Pool shots were very clear. Mounted to head able to ride a board and not worry about water splashing with the waterproof casing.

Not Worth It

I'm just trying to make dance videos. The external microphone input is awful. The USB port doesn't let you see what the camera sees. The camera only hooks up to Android through wifi and the app keeps "updating". The HDMI port is very obscure. The battery does not last long and the label underneath was quick to chip away on my tripod mount.
