It's truly wonderful to know that you're enjoying the wonderful picture quality full of natural colors and brightness of the Sony - 50" Class X77L! Regarding the the issue you sometimes experience, we'd like to share some steps to improve the performance of your unit:
1- Restart your TV, you can do this when you feel that it gets slow/stuck by simply holding down the power button on the Sony remote for 5 seconds and then select restart
2- Clear the cache data. This will allow you to keep an optimal performance and we suggest doing it every month or so. With the remote you can go to settings > system > storage > internal shared storage > cache data
3- Update your TV software, while in settings you can select system > about > system software update > update your TV software

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The picture quality is very good and seemed similar to other 50" models we were looking at like TCL, Toshiba, and Roku--the Sony did seem slightly clearer. Much better than the TV it was replacing. The sound quality is also very good compared to past LCD flatscreens we've owned. A sound bar and stereo system is hooked up though, and that is used for most viewing. We set it up as a "dumb" TV and haven't had any problems. What sold us on the Sony compared to other models was that it has great picture quality from all viewing angles, and that is confirmed from our use. Couple of things to note. First, if you do have a Roku or sound bar or even a stereo hooked to the optical port and turn on the TV it will search for that source first, leaving you without sound sometimes and you have to go into the settings and choose "TV Speakers" and sometimes have to tell it twice to get the TV volume to be back in your control. Also, the simplified remote doesn't have any numbers on it. So if you watch TV (like a normal person?) you have to go into the menu and search for the numbers and often it takes so long to toggle to the numbers and "dot" that it times out by the time you hit enter. The TV menu does have a guide, which is nice, and there are many features unexplored yet. Overall, we feel it is a good value and would definitely recommend it.
