We had purchased a Samsung prior to purchasing the Sony which we returned as the picture was terrible, the WiFi barely worked and the "Smart" part of the TV was horrible. The Sony did cost a bit more but it was definitely worth the extra cost.

The one flaw is that the remote is catered to smart TV only...there are no number buttons to manually type in the channel you want! That is insane, so had to use a different universal remote. Also if using with HD antenna the menu button doesn't display the current TV show title, only the next show. It's bizarre. Overall Sony make what I think is one of the best TVs. I have several and even one tube TV from 1978 still working great.

Glad I did! Clear picture, easy to navigate. Some may want to use a sound bar but for our use it’s fine. Came with 125 free channels from Google which was a nice surprise. Conveniently displays apps. Using with YouTubeTv, Netflix, Hulu and the free channels provided. Don’t miss cable at all!!

I purchased the 50" TV and never spent under $1K. The apps are easy to download, TV was easy to install, light weight, and overall user friendly apps. Picture quality is great with free to air content as well as 4K streaming content. The upscaling works well even for sports telecasted at low quality but does struggle sometimes in movies where graphics are not great. For 4K streaming content have no issues even if I compare it to my other 75” Full array Sony I bought together. The sound is great and for everyday usage you won’t need any soundbar. The UI with Google tv is as expected but this one has lesser customisation options as compared to the next tier model. Not that big a difference if you just use the auto mode Overall a great solid family tv

We certainly appreciate your notes on the OS speed and Wi-Fi range. For the Google TV operating system, we often recommend periodically clearing the app's cache by going to settings > system > storage > internal shared storage > clear cache. You may also try restarting the TV to maintain snappiness. Regarding the Wi-Fi, we recommend placing the TV within 25 feet from the router for reliable wireless streaming.

Difficult interaction between TV and AVR

(Wired Network) However, in my Home Theater setup with a Denon AVR X4500H, I am constantly having problems with setting the system to work as expected. Many times, the remote is slow in responding. It is difficult to remember the required settings for what you want to do next (Interact with 2 or 3 remotes), like changing from watching TV to choosing a movie to watch. I did not have these problems with my previous LG 65" TV. Sometimes the remote control stops working and I have to go to the amazon firetv remote to restore the Sony remote to working condition. very strange and complicated behavior. The Sony remote not having numbers 0 to 9 requires the Cox remote to change tv channels, Fox example going from ch 4 to ch 140....

Great picture, color fidelity is second to none, build quality is great. Incredible for movies, or live TV. I am a retired TV director, and spent decades with Sony monitor systems. Picture fidelity of this consumer product is very close to our older pro gear costing 5 to 10 times as much when set up properly. (Pro mode) The set looks great from 8 to 12 feet. Perfect bedroom / den TV.

Please make sure your TV's software is updated to the latest version. These updates often include bug fixes and improvements that could resolve the issue you're experiencing. You can check for updates by going to Settings → System → About → System software update on your TV.
Clearing the cache and data for the Google Play services and the problematic apps may help. You can do this by going to Settings → Apps → See all apps → Google Play services (or the specific app) → Clear cache and Clear data.
