However, you can use the mobile device to cast Spectrum TV content from the phone to this TV. Very happy with my first Sony TV

This is my first Sony TV, I have always been a Samsung TV person, but decided to go with this based on reviews and the great sales price. Positives: Sound - Even without a soundbar, the audio quality of the internal speakers sounds better than most other flat screens Picture - Picture is great. Every once in a while I'll notice some motion blur (usually on older DVD's), but newer movies and things on streaming services look great. Screen - TV is in a room that gets a lot of morning sun. Glare does not appear to be an issue Interface/Operating System - This is a Google TV so you can link your Google Home/Assistant to it. It's pretty cool, but I find myself not using these types of features most of the time. Cons: Remote - Certainly a nitpicky issue, but the remote control for the TV is massive. Feel like could have made it a bit smaller considering so many other TV brands have these compact and easy to control remotes Viewing Angle - Given that this is an LED rather than a OLED TV, the optimum viewing angle center. With that being said, if you are placing in a bigger room where people would view from farther ends of screen then you may have some issue with seeing the picture as it looks from a more centered angle. Overall, I am very pleased with my first ever Sony purchase and would certainly recommend this to anyone who is considering it.

Impressive Upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I replaced a Samsung TU7000 with this, as it looked like it had a few upgrades. Since it’s a new model there’s not many reviews out there. I believe this model replaces the X800H. will say the color, sound and brightness are definitely better than expected. I think Samsung upconverts low res content more consistently, but this Sony has a much more realistic picture because textures and shadows are infinitely better. Also has more realistic motion with virtually no duplication or artifacts, and there’s a pop to the image that wasn’t there on the bottom tier Samsung. Android interface is infinitely less annoying than Samsung’s bloated constant pop-up system. One issue, I had to disable external device controls as the remote kept randomly turning on my UHD blu ray player and switching inputs. Easy enough fix. Has every streaming app if you don’t use another device with your tv. As far as aesthetics, It’s not super thin and it has a chunky bezel for 2021, but the remote is slim and tall and looks brushed. Features a pretty good voice control function. From what I’ve read it has a direct lit panel, but I’m unsure if it’s an ips or VA. The better viewing angles make me think it’s an ips. There are tons of picture and sound settings to mess with and color seems pretty accurate. Overall I’m pretty happy with this and I think it will sell be a sleeper mid range. Would be ideal if it were $150 less than MSRP. Sony is always overpriced so that is to be expected.

The TV may switch to the last input used for an external device connected via HDMI® cables such as a game console (PS3 or PS4), High-definition cable box or satellite receiver, A/V receiver, Blu-ray Disc® player, media player, or a home theater system. The BRAVIA™ Sync function of the TV sets the priority to the device connected to the ARC (Audio Return Channel) input of the TV. If the third-party device (that is not compatible with the BRAVIA Sync feature) is connected, the TV may switch to the input used by the BRAVIA Sync compatible device. To fix this issue, make sure to set the BRAVIA Sync control setting on the TV to Off.

Great TV, Awesome Value

The color is excellent, and the sound is great. I use it in a small room, so this isn’t a concern for me, but if you have a larger room or view from an angle, just know that the 50 inch version has a VA panel versus an IPS, so the color saturation and black levels are awesome, but they diminish at roughly 180°. This set replaced a 17 year old, $1,500, 32” Sony Bravia that still works well and has a great picture but is no comparison to this updated technology. I’m a longtime Sony fan and love their products, but I’m now retired and live on a budget, so I wasn’t sure about spending over $1,000 to get an updated Sony tv, but with Best Buy’s open box program, I didn’t have to. Fingers crossed this product lives up to the longevity of my other Sony stuff!

Sound is good to great (no sound bar level, but great for modern TV's), video is great, and the setup was super easy. Had on issue with our Fire Stick causing some green flashes coming across the screen. Swapped to another HDMI port and the issue went away. The TV also has built in Amazon Prime button (as well as one for YouTube, netflix and one other, and many other apps in the app button option). Another plus for me and my wife are the placement of the "feet" which are not as far apart as most other TV's.

Very easy to hang on my wall with an existing wall mount from my previous 46” Sony. Set all the hdmi cables and everything turned on without problems. I am not one to mess with all the settings, but had to check if there was any dead pixels and/or dimming issues, and everything was great. My wife set up and checked all the apps, and she said it was easy, and she’s not that tech savvy at times. Lol! If I should have any future problems, I’ll be sure to log them on here. I am totally satisfied at this time.

Only reason to stay away was the pricing! But then this TV narrows that gap, really. It's at a price point that'll make you think twice when you're browsing or trying to make your mind up. Anyways, before this TV I had a TCL 49" Roku and it performed great until it started the LED gimmicks, discoloration, smudging, etc. And then I hit this guy. Amazed at the brilliance of it. I'm loving the Dolby Vision!! You really have to watch all those Disney+ shows again and see what you've been missing!! The picture is crisp, bright, blacks are real black (no grays). Google TV OS is very very good. Love the suggestions and ease of use. The remote is super easy and because it's hooked to the TV via Bluetooth,it's a charm to operate. No need to point at the TV!! Also, it's paired with my Xfinity Flex, and Bose Soundtouch 300, so just one to control all. The voice guided remote operation is very good. You don't need to train it, it works right out of the box. All in all, worth the money and at this price, it's a steal for Sony!! Great product. One things though: This is not wide screen as TCL or Vizio.
