The picture quality is great. The setup was quick and easy. I was able to mount it to a universal wall mount without any issues. Hooked it up to a sound system just as easily. There are multiple ports and an eARC port, so you'll have options in terms of external device connectivity.

Best tv I have ever purchased great for gaming five star

I was looking to buy a new tv i was looking online and saw this Sony tv was available at the local Bestbuy store and picked it up and i bought it it was one one the best decision i made. When i first got the tv and i could not figure out why my tv was going off at night or why it would i had to go to the sleep timer and turn the sleep timer off. I also good not figure out why it would go to the home screen every time turn on my tv on because i had my cable box on plug into hdmi 1. i finally figure out i had to go to the setting and go to the power on behavior and set to switch it to the last input but now that i have had for more then couple of month i am so impressed how good the picture quality looks on this tv as will, the surround sound on the is tv is really great as will the surround sound is so good when ever i play any ps5 or ps4 video on my ps5 console it feel like you are in the game. when you are play any video games. the the surround sound from watching movies on any streaming services is really excellent as will I also like the the fact it will turn on my ps5 console when ever i switch to the input 2 i like the fact that the smart tv will recognize what i have plug into each input. I am very happy with the purchased of the new tv

Was in the market to upgrade the non 4K TV in my office but wanted to get something with 120hz to pair with my PS5 to use it to it's full potential. Came across this gem on sale, and it's been great thus far! Easy setup, Image quality is superb, colors pop and just can't beat the refresh rate. May just have to the 85 or bigger for the living room :)

Still have it after a year and it’s working fine since the first day

I had a TLC tv prior to this one and it bugged out on me. I saw this tv and thought it was good for the price and it was a Sony tv. Because of the brand, I thought it would be high quality and it is. After adjusting the settings a bit, I am able to watch tv with smoother frame rates and refresh rates than before (make sure you plug it into HDMI 3 or 4) for a smooth experience. I'm also a gamer too so when plugging my Xbox in, I can definitely feel a smoother frame rate on some shooters that I play such as Overwatch, Call of Duty, and a few others. One thing I was worried about was variable refresh rate not being available as I didn't see anything about it. Thankfully it was available (update the tv first with the internet to get it) which calmed my nerves. Overall, great quality tv. (Save HDMI 3 for your sound bar, that's the ARC HDMI)

Had to buy a new TV to replace out 6 year old Visio M43C1 that suddenly died. Looked for a TV that was 4k and had the newest input tech. This TV can do HDMI 2.1 on 3,4 and HDMI 2.0 on 1,2 inputs. Also it can do 4k@120Hz on 3,4. Went with a "smaller" size because we didn't want to get a van to move it. :) I believe you can use this as a decent large 4k monitor for computer as well (have not tried yet). Sound is what you expect from a TV, but a soundbar or sub would fill it out better (we didn't buy it for sound). We were using a NVIDIA Shield TV we purchased to augment out older smart TV so going to this SONY with built in Google TV was a perfect choice. There is an annoying top add on main screen, but you don't really notice it once you go into your specific app. Really responsive and works great with Bluetooth headphones. Remote is a little long and buttons are OK, but not very ergonomic in design. could be half as long and nobody would complain. Also has built in voice control. Only had this one week, but seems like a wise purchase.

Our last TV died went to Best Buy and wanted between a 47-50" because of the room it would be in. This TV had none on display so we could not check it out prior. We decided on it and couldn't have made a better decision. It was so easy to set up and couldn't ask for a better picture and sound without a sound bar!

I got this TV for $650 on sale. It is stunning! I was coming from a 2016 4K Samsung TV. The picture quality is crisp. The sound is great. Android TV is very snappy. 120 Hz gaming on my ps5 looks amazing. I highly recommend it.

Excellent UHD TV. The picture is crisp and colors are great. My first flat screen nearly 16 years ago was also a Sony. I gave it to my daughter when we upgraded to a Smart TV but it still works flawlessly. My next purchase was a 65" Samsung UHD. This television would not work with a Sony UHD receiver and a Samsung UHD blue ray player. Would not do proper handshake even though I had the latest and HDMI cables. When I contacted Samsung about the problem the technical support person informed me that the TV I paid $2300 for wasn't actually a true UHD TV it was just capable of upscalling. Hmmmm! The TV, box that it came in, and owners manual also advertised it to be true UHD. This is the reason I don't purchase Samsung TV's or other video components. This Sony works just great with the Sony UHD blue ray player I purchased to use with the UHD dvd I purchased to use with the Samsung TV which would never do a handshake with the Samsung UHD player. Will definitely stay with Sony going forward

Managed to land a PS5 as a gift from a close friend. Unfortunately, my Vizio 4k television did not play nice with the PS5 as it would suffer from 3-6 second audio delays between a button press in the game, and the sound coming out of the speakers. My only choice was a new television. Researching quality replacements that would play nicely with my PS5 led me to this lovely piece of technology. Everything just works so nicely together. Upon initial setup, the television identified the PS5 and automatically adjusted setting to maximize the picture and performance based on my preferences. The picture is beautiful with vibrant colors and very dark blacks. Further, the hdmi input I have the PS5 connected to allows for 120hz, allowing for the smoothest gameplay. There are, of course, far better televisions I found but they were more than I was willing to spend on a second 50 inch 4k TV. So for, a sale price of $750 dollars with this sort of performance…it was an easy choice.

This is my sixth Sony TV since 2003 and overall I am very happy with this one (KD50X85J). I got the TV in mid June on sale for $650 ($100 off) as new ones were running out stock in this size. The price was only $50 more than the lower model (80J) of the same size or the 43 inch size in the same upper model (85J) as this one. Going with the 85J model gets you slimmer bezels around the TV and an upgraded panel along with higher motionflow rates and upgraded inputs for video games, etc. It’s like future proofing your TV to an extent. Picture quality out of the box was great with only a few minor tweaks to make it even better. The sound quality from the TV speakers was better than I expected so for now I’m holding off from getting a sound bar but it’s definitely recommend it if you want enhanced sound. Motionflow settings may need to be adjusted based on what you’re watching, movies are definitely different than watching a newscast and sports programs are somewhere in between so you may want to just leave it on auto mode and it seems to work fine when watching various types of programs. I had my last Sony TV for 11 years and it was still going strong but I figured it was time to upgrade to an LED panel instead of LCD and I have no complaints. I hope this TV will last for many years to come.
