I have cable, a Sony Receiver then the new TV. I got a new 4K cable box, then the signal goes from there to the satellite/cable in on the receiver, then to the e/arc out and then to the e/arc in on the TV. I did not enable the Google feature. Everything will work better if you use the Cable remote. Then do a software update and everything runs great. If you are hooking up straight from cable, the Google feature would be awesome.

The compatibility with and android devices. It also allows you to manage and have all of your streaming services right at your fingertips. I do not regret this purchase at all.

After allowing a couple of weeks for my eyes to adjust to the picture I couldn’t be more satisfied with the purchase. The updates are also very impressive taking the functionality of the television to another level adding VRR (for gaming) and live artistic themes to play in the background for moments of relaxation. Be sure to play around in the settings and adjust your HDMI input settings to game in 4K at a 120fps. The wide array of apps available on the google play store really brought it all together for me. A nice intro television if you are entering the upper echelon of televisions available on the market. I think I will always own a Sony Bravia in my home going forward.

X85J a gamer and moviegoer's dream!

This Sony tv works flawlessly wth my playstation 5. Whenever I turn on my playstation 5, the tv turns on automatically and switches to that input regardless if I was using another input before turning off the TV. Sony has made a solid product. I got the 50" and it is perfect for my 10 by 12 ft room. The google assistant on the remote is great. I say commands to the TV and it will do them. Turn up volume, turn on playstation 5, etc. Sony has been all about quality and this X85J is no exception. The 4k 120hz resolution is spot on. I play netflix in 4k, gran turismo 7, and xbox flight simulator. Anything you throw at it, it will produce a beautiful image. Let's not forget HDR. HDR 10 is so vibrant gran turismo comes to life.

For the VHS, this device usually connects to a TV using a composite/AV connection. Aside from 4 HDMI inputs (located on the side), this TV features 1 video in port for composite audio video connection. An optional Analog Extension cable that can be purchase at most electronic retailers (3.5mm, 4-pole Mini jack to RCA yellow, red and white, not supplied) is needed for this connection. Since it’s a Google tv upon set up it wants you to add all the bells and whistles however if you follow the on-screen prompts carefully you can bypass the Google stuff and continue with set up. One note that is not a dealbreaker is that the color settings take some finessing but with a little effort it works great. The tv also remembers HDMI and picture settings when moving between broadcast and steaming options. Attaching the sound bar was easy. I also paired this purchase with the latest Sony DVD player so the two items speak seamlessly with each other.
