Customers are saying

Customers highly value the exceptional image quality and smooth bokeh of the 50mm f/1.8 Optical Lens, frequently praising its performance in low light and affordability. Many also appreciate its ease of use and ability to create stunning portraits with a shallow depth of field. While some users noted that the autofocus could be improved and that chromatic aberration is sometimes present, the overall positive feedback highlights its strengths as a versatile and high-performing lens.

I decided to skip the kit lens and just buy the 50 mm. So this is the only lens I have for my A6000. I love it so far, it takes great quality photos, they all look sharp, where the subject really pops. It does have a slow auto focus, but it's not a big deal for me. I still have to get used to the fact that this is not a zoom lens! So fyi, you have to move around to try to get the best shot, but I definitely recommend it.

Much better quality than the Kit lens. If you own a kit lens and looking for nice low light picture. This is the cheapest Sony auto focus prime lens you can find. AF Quite slow in low light but price/performance is great.

The quality and features you get from this lens for the cost are unbeatable, the SEL18-105PZ being a close second. I think this has the best performance to price ratio for any lens I've owned DSLR or Mirrorless. the auto-focus is quick and silent, the lens is sharp from f4 and higher, it still performs well wide open, but is a bit soft. With all these features you still get OSS which lets you get usable shots with slow shutter speeds.
