Just can't stop taking pictures with this lens using Aperture 1.8 2 to 3 feet away beautiful pictures happen. The blur affect in the back ground brings out your subject beautifully.
That's really nice to hear Chris! Thank you for your time and feedback. Thanks for choosing Sony! - Vincent

The telephoto lens is really nice for zooming in on areas that you want to focus on that are farther away. It doesn’t distort the photo which is always nice.

One of three lenses needed for the NEX-7 in my opinion. The other two being the 18-55mm and the 16mm wide f2.8 along with the ultra-wide and fish-eye attachments.

I have the Sony Nex-3 and wanted to get a zoom lens, I was debating between lens adapter with a longer zoom lens and this lens which I ended up buying and keeping. The feel of this lens on the camera is just right, it has a nice rubber grip with manuel focus opt. and aluminum construction which makes it very light. I took the lens for a test drive on my Alaska Cruise vacation and ended up with some nice pics, I did also use a Rocket Fish P.Filter and UV.Filter to prevent any glare on my pics and to protect it from getting scratched. The video recording with the lens was good too. Over all I think this lens is a great addition to the camera but I would of liked a longer zoom though I shouldn't complaint since there's no adapter required for added cost. I'll leave 2 pics to show 55mm zoom and max zoom 210mm.

This is a great addition for someone who has a NEX camera with the 18-55 mm kit lens. It is small and light enough to be used single handed with the camera if necessary. Images are incredibly sharp, even indoors, low light without flash. Maximum aperture at extreme telephoto range is very high which limits depth of field control. Best use would be sports, action, nature photography in daylight conditions. Built-in stabilization and high effective ASA allows great photos even at maximum telephoto range since any lens movement is magnified. Construction appears to be mainly plastic, but that probably helps keep it light. Lens is expensive compared to other brands, but works extremely well with the NEX cameras.

This lens came with the camera in the kit I purchased, and I couldn't be happier. I was worried about using a lens like this for portraits, but it has given me some great photos. It's great for traveling what with it's telephoto capabilities, and is relatively light weight. It can be a bit cumbersome when trying to get a wide framed shot, but to be fair, that's not what the cameras meant for. The lens itself is high quality and feels great in your hands. Overall, I would highly recommend this camera.

This 50mm lens is truly incredible. From the moment I started shooting with it, I noticed a huge difference in the clarity and overall quality of my photos. The images are razor-sharp, the colors are vibrant, and the bokeh is beautifully smooth. It performs amazingly well in low light, and the autofocus is fast, accurate, and surprisingly quiet.
What I love most is how versatile it is—perfect for portraits, everyday shots, and even quick street photography. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and instantly became my go-to lens. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced photographer, this 50mm is one of those lenses that elevates your work without even trying.

This lens is no frills (but OSS) and gets the job done very well. Given the size and price, this lens is excellent. Great for during the day as the focal/aperture range is perfect. Depending on your camera, late in the day shots can get a bit noisy but again realizing the limitations with the lens will help you greatly. Oh yeah, great video lens too!
Its about the size of a small red bull can. Its much lighter and easier to handle than the 18-200mm monster. For the same price as that lens (899), I have 2 excellent lenses.
I have this on my NEX-6 complementing the 35mm F1.8. These are the only 2 lenses I need for 100% of situations.

The Sony E 55-210mm f/4.5-6.3 OSS provides enough zoom range to capture faraway subjects. It won’t rival a 60x superzoom for sheer reach, but it will take much better photos—especially if you know how to take advantage of it. Best of all, it won’t break the bank. Sure, Sony had to make some sacrifices to get the price that low, but if you’re looking to add reach on a budget, this lens should be on your radar.

I purchased this lens for my NEX-5 a year ago and I love it. I've shot some sporting events (triathlon) with the burst shooting and the pics turned out awesome. This lens is a must-have for NEX users, especially if you need to get close to a subject. The aluminum casing and rubber rings gives the lens that durable feel.

I purchased this lens as part of a package deal when I bought my Sony a6000 camera. It has some limitations (low light, not tack sharp), but overall was a great lens to begin shooting with. I paired it with an Olympus 1.7x teleconverter, which increased the zoom capabilities, and also seemed to improve the image quality (sharpness and compression). I’ve been very pleased with the performance of this combination.
