Bought this to take faraway action shots at ball games. Picture quality is great. Easy to change the lens out.

Great zoom, high quality photos, very durable and perfect for mid distance action shots

I bought it because I have a 3 yr old and nephew and a niece who are 2 and 6 that are on the go. I can just get the one person I want in the shot without having to crop later. Also I use it at the zoo to get up close shots of the animals and not have all the extra background I dont need or want. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has children.

The zoom is great and I shot some awesome sports pictures with it.

This is my first zoom lens. I love the camera so much I decided to purchase this lens. At first I was afraid I would have problems changing from one lens to another but, to my surprise it's as easy as pie. The price was right also. I've heard of people paying way more for similar lens to use with their professional cameras. I get the same results if not better and I paid less. I love it when I get a good deal and I am very very happy

I have this lens for over a month and so far so good, really easy to use, takes really sharp pictures.

I bought this before my trip to England and was impressed on the quality of images I could get from a distance. I could zoom in the see a wide amount of detail. Gave me great images that I could blow up & crop to get a variety of new pictures which great clarity. It's my first zoom lens and was easy to attach & remove as well as use.

Seems to be about as good as its big brother and a lot smaller and cheaper. Plastic in stead of metal but no problem if you take care.

Best value for zoom e mount lens. A little grainy when max zoom and moderately lit room. Better results outside with direct sunlight.

If you got to this review, I am a beginning photographer but was done with point and shoot cameras and wanted to move to both interchangeable lenses and better camera electronics. I read a lot of reviews, talked to some friends, and then went to Best Buy. Both the entry level DSLRs (like the Canon Rebel) and the Sony alpha series met the need and, depending on the latest or the almost the latest models, were comparably priced. Both my camera-knowledgeable friends and the man in the blue shirt said similar things: think about the glass more than the camera body. How many lenses do you think you will you want (then double that number)? In the end the alpha 55-210 lens was on sale with the camera and I went Sony. My spouse also liked that the alpha 6300 fit better in her hands and the controls seemed less intimidating... time will tell but the photos have been great thus far!

We used this lens on a recent trip to St. Louis where we attended a Cardinals baseball game and the Blackhawks vs. St. Louis Blues hockey game. We got some great shots even though at both places we were sitting quite a distance away. Very happy with the quality of the lens and the pictures it takes.
