This lens is perfect if you’re just starting and would like to have a decent one to get photos from far away. Make sure it isn’t your only one, it is decent for sports events, but if you’re trying to capture portraits, spend a little more and buy a specific one.

I am using this lens with the Sony A7II for a variety of different scenes. I am not using it for video. The lens was on sale, so I felt that the value was there, and if I were to consider the full price of this lens, I would save a bit more and get a higher quality lens to meet my specific needs. The lens has adequate range, and is relatively sharp. The weight is suitable for a small camera body and the focus control works without any issues. Focal speed is adequate and it will focus in moderate light.

I'm an amateur photographer so I'm not an expert in any way. I have an Alpha 6000 mirrorless with the standard 15-50mm lens. This is a great upgrade to add some zoom to the camera. Shots are sharp and detailed at all focal lengths IMO. So definitely worth it if you only have the standard lens that came with that camera, or any E-mount Sony camera I guess.

I bought this lens with the kit lens and the a6000. This is a good deal and the lens works very well. Do not buy and adaptor with a non sony lens, you will lose the autofocus capability. This lens is excellent for this price. Sony manufacture great bodies but does not have that many lenses, but these two will do the job.

Yes you can spend more on a lense and you can do a few more tricks but for the price this is an excellent lense. Zoom lense have there problems some less then others but again for the price this is a great value. I not going to give you any more read the reviews. You always read one that trashes it and one the raves about it. Just remember it not a lense the price of the camera but it light and dose the job well.

Good starter lens for aspiring sports photographer, action shots are abit underwhelming just make sure your lens and camera are compatible otherwise capabilities are not going to be great

With lenses you typically get what you pay for. This is an excellent lens for a starter kit with a very respectable range.

Purchased this as an additional lens for my Sony A5100, that came with the 16-50mm. This lens is a great performer all round from medium to long range giving a little better quality than the kit lens. This is perfect for animals, outdoor close ups, or anything that u want to get close to that isn't so close. The only thing id say that could be better is a power zoom on it. Can be difficult to hold steady when zoomed in.

We purchased this lens to be able to take pictures of our daughter at high school soccer games. With the bleachers being so far away from the field, we needed something more than our regular camera. The lens allows us to get good shots, with the only issue being night shots. Far from an expert, but simple research found that we'd have to spend a lot more on a lens to be produce good night shots. So, lens is as expected.

Bought the lens august 2023. Its now november, so far its works like its suppose to. Use it at the san diego zoo for fun. The zoom is just right.

Lens produced gorgeous photos and videos, image quality was sharp and the zoom was impressive. 10/10.

High quality material and well made. Smooth zoom, quiet focus, quite compact for its zoom range. Though it does protrude outward quite a bit when zoom all the way in. Provides long reach, but is not suitable to be used as a versatile solution because i just could not use it to capture portrait. Manual zoom is not suitable for video recording. it’s quite a heavy lens. Only great for people who shoot pictures of wildlife or who wants long reach. I would guve 3.5 star.

We bought the Sony Alpha a6000 and there was a deal for getting the second lens. It was well worth it! As much as the standard lens takes beautiful images, this one gives us more flexibility in the pictures we take. It was well worth the expense. Maybe not at full price, but with the deal, it was a no brainer.

I purchased this lens as part of a bundle with the a6000 and I am very happy that I made that plunge. I think together it saved me $150+ dollars, and without that bundle, I probably would have convinced myself that the extra lens wasn't worth it. However, I would say that I tend to use this lens way more than the one that came with the body. Now I just have to round out the rest of my kit!

Purchased the Sony 55-210mm telephoto lens for my Sony a6000 camera. LOVE IT! I take lots of photos (son's baseball and soccer games). I have been wanting a telephoto lens so I can get the shots I want from further distances. Gives me a whole new perspective! LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Worth the money!

This lease quickly became my go-to for nearly everything. Sure it doesn’t have zoom, but there is a reason why it’s called a “prime” lense. It has great low light performance which is where I like to work. And it’s focus and clarity is amazing. Now I need to find a good zoom lense that can also give me a wider viewing angle.

Works great for distance shots. Easy to use and attach.

I bought this lens as an opened package and I am sure glad I did. The lens takes awesome pictures and the clarity is remarkable. I used this in low light conditions at concerts and also used it for video and the quality has been amazing.

I bought the sony alpha a6000 camera a few months before buying the lens and realized that the lens it came with did not have much of a zoom on it. I shopped around and found this lens and it is everything I need. I just wish it zoomed even farther and clearer and that its close ups panned out to fit everything in without having to switch the lens out.
