Pros: - Excellent overall picture quality. - Rich, lifelike colors. Better and more realistic than Samsung panels in the same range. - Much better motion processing than Samsung. - Great build quality and design. Very slim. - Android TV is pretty great, and it has built in Chromecast. Cons: - The ambient brightness keeps changing when viewing dark scenes with subtitles. This sometimes interferes with the viewing experience. You can turn it off though. - Blacks aren't as deep as Samsung. - A few weird issues. Eg The remote microphone stops working sometimes, and you need to restart the Tv. I use it mainly for watching TV shows, movies and sports. And this TV is amazing for all 3. I was deciding between this and the Samsung ks8000, and so far I'm happy with my decision (imo this one has more realistic colors, better motion handling and Android TV). Please go down to the store and see for yourself, since it comes down to personal preference.

The picture quality is unreal and the colors are almost better than real life. It's difficult to find sources of 4k content to enjoy on this set, but if you can, it's entirely worth it. There are better models out there, but for this price it's very hard to complain.

This TV is so smooth for watching HD sports. I can't think of another, non OLED tv that is anywhere near as good as this one. The only downside is that you loose some depth of black in a pitch black room, but I've added a cheap $15 ambient light LED strip behind the TV and have absolutely no issues with the color when watching 4K movies.

The picture quality is so amazing. We have had a few friends comment right away when they walk into our living room. The features are excellent. This was a major upgrade from our TV that we purchased in 2002. I am very impressed with this SMART TV. It is definitely smarter than I am when it comes to technology. Very pleased with our purchase.

This tv is so easy to use with all the features you can imagine. The color is amazing and clear. We are so happy. When you plat a dvd, the sound and picture is fantastic. We looked for a tv for about two weeks best buy was the best price. Delivery to our home was a big plus. They were profeesional and showed us everything. Attttttttttttttttt

We purchased the Sony 55" 4K Ultra Flat screen and are very happy with our purchase. The picture is fantastic and the remote is easy to use. The color is amazing and crystal clear. We did purchase a sound bar which is a great addition.. I am not a tech guy, this TV is a super upgrade from what we had and simple to use. Couldn't be happier !

This tv is outstanding in its picture quality. Never seen anything like it before. Color bright, contrast wonderful and so much detail. Have watched my blu ray movies and have experienced them all a new. Even dvds are stepped up to a new level. Amazing product! Thin screen and edges give it a nice contemporary look and feel.

Video looks great. TV itself looks sleek. 4K is amazing.

This t.v. Has a beautiful picture. It also has a lot of added features and apps that you can add. It is the perfect size for my living room. It looks great mounted on my wall. Has a very thin profile and the border is non existent. It's all screen. I love it. Sony makes a great product. I would definitely recommend this tv.

It's my first 4K TV and so far the quality is definitely beyond regular TV. Colors are very vivid and it makes you feel like you at inside the TV. The apps that you can connect are a very nice feature ( connected to android TV) If you are debating whether to buy a 4K TV, Sony should be on the top list, it's worth every penny!

This TV is really nice. Picture quality, sound quality etc. The only problem is the remote controller. You press the button but takes some time to see the effect on the tv. I think it is related to tv itself. It has android base operating system. I feel like system is a little bit slow. Other than I really liked it.

I bought this TV the same day I also purchased a Sony 700D. The 700D was running a combo for PS4 and the 850D was doing one with Sony sound bar. I needed two TV's, so worked out great for me. I use the soundbar and PS4 with the 850D. Great combo package. TV has amazing picture, applications are great (switch to music anytime you want), and super thin TV. I have the TV in a slightly lit room, but this doesn't affect the picture quality at all and can be easily seen from all angles. Negative Comment - This TV has gotten extremely slow at times, to the point where you think it freezes and then all of a sudden the last 20 buttons you pushed (while it was frozen) start working (volume goes up, channels change, volume down). It did at one time freeze and I had to turn TV off from button on back of TV. I could see this being a problem if you left your TV on for long periods of time, but mine was about 3 days old and ran maybe hour each day. Had same issue with the 700D but not nearly as bad as 850D. Talked with Sony rep at best buy (who talked this TV up big) about my issues and he proceeded to tell me how to fix it, like this is a common problem. You shouldn't have this type of problem on a $1000 TV. The only way I have found to fix it is to do a factory reset, which will require you to go through the 15-30 minute set-up phase again. So far had to reset it once but it is starting to slow again and will probably have to restart it a second time in 20 days.

I searched far and wide for the best possible anniversary gift for my husband, we love this new addition to our living room it's definitely the center peice. Perfect because we love entertaining for football games and soccer games. The picture is flawless and the design is so attractive. It goes with any decor style!

There are a lot of 4K tv options out there and for various price ranges but Sony is truly the best out there from a quality and price perspective. I had a 65 inch 850C that I bought last year and I loved it and when my 55 inch plasma burnt out I got the 850D . It's recommended even over Samsung for the quality and price

Purchased this TV as a replacement for a smaller Phillips TV in our living room. I alwasy thought the Phillips TV had a good picture, but this Sony is beyond great. Granted, the Phillips is not 4K nor does it have the HDR feature, but the vast improvement in picture quality makes it well worth it. Installation and set up was extremely easy. My wife and I installed the wall mount and hung it on the wall. Easy to program to our DirecTV universal remote.

I had been keeping an eye on this TV for close to a year. I had a Sony xbr4 before this and loved it. I knew I was getting a quality product when I purchased the X850D. The picture is beautiful. I can't stop watching sports, movies, sitcoms. Setup was easy and using my phone to operate the tv is even better.

I have seen a few negative reviews for this tv. I do not disagree that its not a prefect tv. It does not have perfect blacks and lacks full array led.But it does have the best upscaling to 4k, fast motion is perfect, and it has Sonys great color saturation. For an everyday living room tv it is great. It is very bright and shows minimal reflections. If you are using it in a dark home theater setting, Im sure there are better options. Overall for what you get, and HDR helps future proofing, I highly recommend this tv. Also, Android TV is terrific.

Went to the store to purchase a 4k tv with a budget in mind. But after speaking to the salesman he talked me into this model and with great reason. Its amazing from ease of set up to strength of picture. Its my first Sony TV and will not be my last.

My concern was if it would work with bad antenna reception I have at home. Well, it works very well. Full HD movies look great. I have not had a chance to watch a 4K movie, but it should be good, too (given the experience so far). Considered the 65' inch sibling, but did not think $500 premium would make sense.
