We originally purchased one of the LG 4K UHD 55" TV's. Horrible motion blur when watching sports. We already had a Sony TV that was in the 48" range and never had any problems. Soon found out that since we only run standard definition through our cable system, the 4K UHD TV's, regardless of manufacturer, would have bad motion blur because the TV is working way too hard try to make SD look like UHD. But, even in HD, this Sony has an amazing picture and far superior motion control compared to an LG that was over twice the price. Bottom line, if you watch a lot of sports, go with Sony. The only down side is the speakers are not too good but I would rather have that than all the motion blur. Doubt I will every purchase anything other than Sony in the future.

The picture and sound quality are excellent. I did a lot of research before I settled on this set. The 4k sets offered me nothing except a lot of hype. This is a 1080p set that allows for a lot of picture and sound customization. It is a royal pain to set up so read the manual if you want to save yourself from frustration. Wifi works perfectly if you set it up manually. If you choose the simple wifi set up you are in for a workout. I use an Apple TV box for my online content so the wifi feature was not important to me anyway. We own a Samsung and 2 LG's which we have been very happy with but this model of the Sony just out classes them in picture and sound quality.

I bought this television to replace the 27" Samsung SDTV, which we had for quite some time. I was tempted to get another Samsung but compared the picture quality to the LG's and Sony's. Overall I felt the Sony televisions were better, though higher priced. I initially thought this television may be too large, but after taking measurements of the room I found it to be just right. I also found this television had better reviews than some of the other Sony's. This television has a great picture and the set up was very easy after taking it out of the box. The provided stand is very sturdy and not cheap looking like some of others I've seen. The only issue I had was getting the HD content but made the fix after changing the set up on my Roku box. Also, connecting my receiver and dvd player were more than easy after upgrading my cables. A 4K tv was an option, but I'm more than happy with 1080P right now.

We are very satisfied with this television, great picture and sound, easy to use menus and a great bargain!

I have been waiting to pick up a non-4K smart tv to upgrade my bedroom Samsung. This unit met all my expectations for picture quality ease of use and price point. This is my second large screen Sony and both are excellent. Great value!

When my smart TV decided to die on Christmas morning I started looking on Best Buy.com for a new TV. I came across this one and couldn't believe the price for a Sony smart TV. It had good ratings and reviews so I decided to go in stores to check it out. I instantly fell in love with it. It may not be 3-D like my old TV but I realized I never used those options on my old TV. The picture quality is amazing as well as the sound. The remote could be a little better if it had a full keyboard like my old TV did especially since it's a smart TV. Setting it up was easy with no problems. The only thing that can be difficult is putting together the stand if you're not mounting it on the wall. It comes with multiple pieces and is very confusing. One other thing that I don't like is one of the HDMI is in the back of the TV so if you're mounting it on the wall it won't sit all the way flush because of the HDMI cord hitting the wall. But those are minor issues for such a great TV at such a great price. I highly recommend this Sony 55 inch TV

Talked my daughter in to buying this tv on sale Black Friday to replace older plasma tv she had. Unless you own a Sony HD Smart tv you can't imagine the color and clarity you'll enjoy with it. Watching football games you can actually see the blades of grass in the field which you didn't have with the old plasma tv. She was so worried about hanging it on her wall because it was larger that her old one. But the Sony was less than half the weight of the television she was replacing. If it wasn't for the fact that this Sony was HD and not 4K I would have purchased one for myself. You have to see the picture to believe it. And for $359.00 how could you go wrong.

I purchased this tv for under $500. It has a great picture and easy to use.

This TV shows an amazing picture quality with a lot of Sony internet apps, the only downfall is that you cannot download any other apps. The sound is okay, I purchased the Sony Sound bar for a better quality sound..I am pretty happy with this TV overall.

I needed a new tv due to my old one dying. I had a Samsung for 8 years so I wasn't sure which brand to go with. After tons of research I went with this Sony smart tv and I really love it! It was easy to set up and the functions are so easy to use! Love the streamline design and the picture quality is awesome! I've seen many reviews that go into specifics about all of the technical aspects. I know nothing about all that. All I know is the picture and sound are amazing and I love this TV!

I was able to get this TV on a Black Friday Door buster, actually it was Saturday, the day after. With many other brands going for a similar price if not lower, this was a great deal ($349) for the Black Friday Price. I really wanted a 4K UHD model, but after buying one the previous year, I really did not need another one unless the price was right. As far as comparison between 4k and 1080p, hands down 4K is much better picture quality, at least in the Sony line. I've always had Sony TVs, especially XBRs, and was disappointed with the early LCD TVs as well as the projection TVs. I had Panasonic Plasma TVs and they were great as far as blacks are concerned in picture quality. After getting a XBR 4K last year my faith in Sony has been restored. This TV is a replacing an aging Panasonic Plasma TV for the bedroom, I've had for almost 10 years. I still have Sony TVs that still work, but are rarely used, which goes to show Sony Quality. Cons: It's not a full Android TV like it's XBR cousins. It does have apps, but limited. I can always get an Android box. Two HDMI inputs, compared to the XBR with 4. If you have a Cable/Sat STB, a Blu-ray player, a game console, one will have to use Component Cable. Basically you get what you pay for, but you get a lot for you buck on this model.

I this TV is worth for $500 it has everything you want in it I was gonna get the 48 Inch Model but for $50 more I got the 55 Inch Model instead for 7 Inches more and its for my little brother.

I happened to see this TV advertised in an email for a great price. I didn't think they'd have it anymore at the local Best Buy but I took a chance and they had a good number of them still in inventory. I was very surprised and thought maybe this TV wasn't what I thought it was, but after talking with the salesperson it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. I am very happy with the picture quality and the ease of using the APPS, except for some reason we can't get NETFLIX on our set. I haven't tried calling SONY or NETFLIX yet because we can use our XBOX for NETFLIX and I don't really use it anyway, my kids do. My biggest regret with this TV is that I didn't buy 2 at the time because it was such a GREAT price. Also, I can't seem to find my owner's manual. I don't know if it wasn't in the box or if I lost it. Otherwise, I love this TV and would recommend it to anyone.

I love this television! The set up was very easy and it is lightweight for a TV this size. The picture and the sound quality are fantastic. I have owned many Sony TVs over the years and they never disappoint!

I ordered this on-line, and picked this up at my local Best Buy. The transaction went well. I got the TV home, unpacked it, and hooked it up to my Cable via HDMI. Extremely clear picture. I am shocked at how light TV's are now. This 55" Sony LED replaces a good working 7 yr. old Panasonic 50" Plasma in my Living Room. That plasma is heavy [now in the Master Bedroom]. Smart TV is nice to have now. The only reason I give this 4-Stars is that the sound is very tinny. It will distort at just over half volume. I have a Visio sound bar with subwoofer now, and have to use that for decent sound. Watching the news, the TV speakers are fine. Watching anything else...Movies...Network...and especially Music, fire up the Sound Bar. I don't expect it to sound like Carnegie Hall, but better speakers would go a long way.

Went to Best Buy on a Sat. eve., price $499 ($100 off). Sale ended that eve. Decided to wait since it's the holiday season and figured price wouldn't increase...lo and behold Sun. ad has price at $450...bought on their website right then. TV is excellent. Great picture and surprisingly good sound. Easy set up, very pleased with purchase. Should also add was comparing this with 58" Samsung that was same price...no comparison, Sony far and away better picture.

Picture is very good for a 55" 1090p, motion is smooth and color is very good as well. Not too heavy, good sound from the speakers... This TV only has one down side: for LED tv's I thought this should have a better energy rating.
