Customers recognize the 55" Class 4K Ultra HD TV's exceptional picture quality, vibrant colors, and ease of use. Many appreciate the 3D capabilities and the effective upscaling of lower-resolution content. However, some users find the remote control somewhat difficult to use, and a few have noted concerns about input lag for gaming. While some consider the price point high, the overall positive feedback highlights the TV's strong performance in key areas.

Not a bad TV. The picture is very clear and the 3D is good. The only downfall is that it is an active 3D TV instead of a passive 3D TV. This means that you have to have 3D glasses that run on batteries.

There isn't a better television on the market, OLED is great but not necessarily better than this Sony LED. It has Active 3D, Deep Black colors, thin bezel, Android TV, all the bells and whistles.

I compared this and Samsung SUHD 9000. The Sony was by far the better tv. No break up during sporting events. The color is almost as good as the OLEG ones without the cost. I highly recommend it.

No problems so far but it does seem to have to be restarted once and a while. The picture quality is excellent. With the attached sound bar the system is nicely linked. The remote is easy to use.

Picture quality / upconvert is ok, not as good as compared to a high-end LG I've seen. So far so good with the exception of some random reboots of the TV. Biggest issue so far is that the sound on the TV connection to the cable box went out a few days ago (1st time in 30 days of use). The sound for the other inputs (streaming services, apps) were working just fine, and after an hour of fiddling with the connections and switching out the cable / media player box no result. As a last chance attempt (should have been the first thing I tried) I rebooted the TV by turning off and unplugging to...surprise, the TV sound came back. I guess the Android just needs an occasional fresh boot...

Good picture but hard to set up and loses internet

The picture on this new TV is good but not as crisp as they display in the store. Even HD programs don't have the same look. It took a couple frustrating hours to get this set up properly. The remote control sensor is at the bottom of the set and is easily covered if you put a sound bar in front of the set. That is an annoying design flaw. After about a week the TV lost connection to the internet and we had to go through the whole startup menu again to get it reconnected. The folks at the store were not able to offer much help when I contacted them.

The picture on this TV is unreal. Apps, wifi, you name it, this thing does it. I bought the 55 inch, which luckily Best Buy had in stock, I heard Sony is now only releasing the 65 and 75 inch versions, which would have been too big for my space, but iMessage sure are just as nice.

After reading and trying other televisions I settled on this one, mainly because they didn't offer the x800d in a larger size and in 120hz. Aside from black levels I didn't see any other reason for an OLED. The motion handling and Android operating system beat the Samsung's. So I stuck with Sony after owning 2 previously along with a Samsung plasma, which I still wish they made. For streaming and 4k HDR movies I'm more than happy with this TV which is very bright. Unfortunately 2016 had several Sony models but none that were worth the higher prices. The x800d was still my favorite TV, if you can find one on clearance or open box it's worth the money.

The picture on this TV is great! I was blown away! I also was able to watch 3D Blu Ray movies using the XBox 1 S and the Active 3D glasses that purchased at Best Buy (TDG-BT500A)

I have always been a die-hard fan of Samsung, so I was very sceptical at first on purchasing a Sony. I got it mainly bc it had PlayStation vue as a built in app, and that's what my family uses for Tv. This tv blew me away with stunning picture quality, and the Android OS is superb compared to others; especially if you have an android tablet or phone (iOS is okay too). I would say if you're between this and the 850D (bc I was) this is your better bet by far. I didn't think it would be much difference, but all of the short coming of the 580D are resolved here. Only downside is audio quality but no worse than any other flat screen.

Picture is great. Amazing clarity. 4K content on Netflix and Amazon is gorgeous on the eye. The TV does a great job in upscaling regular HD so that it looks almost 4K.

This TV would have gotten 5 stars, but in the past 3 weeks of owning it, I've had to completely unplug everything atleast 3 or 4 times to get SOMETHING to work again in it. Once it was to get the "Action Menu" working correctly again. Then it was to get the sound working on the Roku box working again (worked fine hours earlier, and it never did that on my 11 year old Panasonic Plasma TV). There's the Xbox lost its picture and sound even though it worked without issue hours earlier.
Great picture, color, clarity, everything really. But these 'reboots' I didn't expect. Especially at this price point.

I've been a loyal SONY customer since my first TV, so I may be biased, but in my opinion, if you want accurate warm skin tones, you buy a SONY. If you want high contrast, over-saturation, and an image that looks like it was printed on Fuji film, pretty much buy anyone else. I am please with this TV and would recommend it if you are a person who really looks for the most accurate color reproduction.
