Defective and Returned
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointment is an understatement. The TV worked out of the box on Day 1. On Day 2, the TV stopped functioning, and no amount of finagling with the assistance of the on-line Sony troubleshooting advice could recover the TV from the error. Boxed up and returned it to BB for a refund, which was obtained but without any sort of apology from store management. Even an insincere apology would have been appreciated.

Superior Picture & Sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After going to the store many times and rearching Sony oled TV's I finaly bought the Sony A8G 55". There are many televisions you can buy for under $1000.00 but there few worth paying more. The Sony oled A8G is worth it! The picture is amazing at normal 1080p or even when upscaling, I can't speak to 4k because I just got it yesterday. I am pleased with the ease and speed of going from apps to TV. I found some nice settings online to customize the picture to make it look more inline with what I'm used to seeing on my old plasma. (less saturated) I highly recommed this TV if you're considering oled. I think the entire Sony line is amazing and whatever you get make sure you consider Sony!

Good TV; terrible interface
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the size, the picture, the sound, etc., but this tv is difficult to manage and the remote is useless, the manual worthless; tech support is hit or miss. I asked question about youtubeTV; Sony tech responded on Amazon that you can't watch it without streaming it from a device to TV via chromecast!! Chat with YouTubeTV tech said you should be able to. Finally chatted with Sony tech online; she was able to remotely show me how where to download the YouTubeTV app and Acorn TV. It is hidden away on interface and the remote is very difficult to use to do things like that. Good concepts but execution on this tv is beta stage. Take a clue from Apple and make your products user friendly, particularly with big tickets items like this

Nice OLED, but issue with blotches within 4 yrs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent OLED tv, but then I was unlucky and got one that the screen started showing blotches with certain background colors. Able to swap out and decided to step back down to a 4k UHD non OLED. Didn't want to take chance on happening again in a few years.

Makes other 4K TVs look outdated!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is phenomenal. Though I had to ditch my Roku, it was well worth the added quality, especially as seen with the Dolby Vision movies on Netflix, Vudu, etc. It has the brightest colors, darkest blacks and absolutely stellar performance. I love it and couldn't be happier! I upgraded from a Samsung 4K HDR and despite them both being 4K HDR, upgrading to the A8G was like going from 1080 to 4K - that much of a difference despite both TVs having identical resolutions. It's all about its processing power - which is unmatched. Thanks Sony for continuing to exceed industry standards at reasonable prices. I am a firm believer Sony is the best TV manufacturer and this TV is a testament to that claim!
