The quality of the picture on this tv is absolutely crystal clear and beautiful. Their other tv was a 42" so the 55" was perfect for their room. I was visiting and got to experience the difference in tvs. Absolutely amazing. My daughter and her husband watch a lot of sports and they said it makes it seem like they are at the game, the picture is so excellent. My next tv will be this one, for sure!!

Great OLED Picture

I purchased this Sony because the wireless adapter failed on my Samsung tv. It took me about an hour to set up the tv after the initial preparation of unboxing the tv and installing the feet. The upper part of the tv is quite thin and can be damaged if improperly handled, so two people are required to unbox the tv and move into the desired location after the two feet are installed. This procedure only takes about 10 minutes. There are a couple of speaker-related items that I am still working on figuring out. This tv has a headphone jack and when in use, it preempts the speakers. I checked on YouTube and found information indicating that speakers' sound output can be configured while concurrently using the headphones, but have yet to be successful. The same situation is also encountered while using Bluetooth headphones. The remote control color is black and the button information is hard to see in low light conditions. I would greatly appreciate a backlighted remote control.

While calibrating it, the TV fired laser gun shots which sent my brother into the frozen cat position. Stunned, but alive. Everything about this TV was worth the cost & the 2 hour drive to pick it up but the chance to shock my grown brother into thinking Aliens were firing at him from the TV, was priceless.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been needing a new TV for a couple of years, and I knew that I wanted a Sony, so I waited and kept watching for a great deal on a Sony OLED. I was undecided between the A80J and the A90J, but the A90J didn't provide a significant difference, for my needs, that would justify the higher price tag. Based on all of the information that I researched, the A90J would have provided higher brightness and 60 watt sound vs the 30 watt on the A80J. I have the TV in a small space without excessive ambient lighting, so lower brightness is fine, and more powerful sound would have been a bit too much for the small space. So the A80J was the clear choice for me at such an excellent price point (currently on sale). Note that the A90J is a master series Sony TV, meaning that it was factory calibrated, while the A80J is not a master series. This means that you'll need to adjust the settings on the A80J for optimal results. There are plenty of resources between videos and forums discussing the best settings, and I highly recommend searching for some of those. It still looks amazing right out of the box though!

I am elated with my choice in purchasing it. The color and contrast is perfect from any angle in the room or any light condition. The refresh rate makes sports and action films seamless. If you want a tv that gives you the natural look always go with a Sony over any. Has no lag on whatever I’m watching or even if I’m playing my ps5. Sound is top notch also. I have no trouble hearing dialogue like with other TVS. The Nextgen tuner is a big plus for me. I live in a weak signal area on the westside of Phoenix behind mountains. Even with a large rooftop antenna, I couldn't pick up CBS. The Nextgen tuner can pick it up in 1080p.

The picture is the best of any tv ive ever owned and it has plenty of input options. My one complaint is that it gets HOT. We can feel the heat radiating off of it when we walk past it and it actually raises the temperature in the room. So dont sit too close to it.
