Picture quality is excellent. When the techs were going through the initial setup of the TV, Dark Knight was on. I was blown away by the picture quality. The blacks were actually black, and the colors were incredible. My receiver and feed was still 1080p, but that never looked this great on my previous 1080p TV. Even the sound is good. Especially for built-in TV speakers.

Excellent so far! Picture is fantastic, sound is better than we anticipated. Easy set up. Love how the TV sincs to my phone and my favorite photos cycle as a screen saver. What we did have to do is modify the surface it sits on wider. Rather than a more centered stand, the legs mount at almost the very sides. If you are mounting on a wall it’s not an issue. We don’t have that option.

After three years of saving Best Buy Gift Cards and researching televisions, I finally decided to buy a 55 inch Sony a80l. No regrets so far. Picture quality is excellent as expected! Brightness has not been an issue. I will now start saving for my upgrade to a 65 inch in four or five years.

OLED provides the best picture! I have a Samsung Q80 in my living room that company regularly comments about how good the picture and colors are when they visit. The picture on the Sony Bravia OLED completely blows away the picture quality and clarity of my Samsung. I don’t think I will ever purchase anything but Sony OLED to replace or upgrade the TVs in my house.

I bought this TV to replace my 2010-era Panasonic 1080p LCD TV and I love it. I was on the fence about buying a smart TV for years because I didn't want to deal with laggy or annoying interfaces or not getting app updates once the manufacturer stopped supporting the device. But this TV has the same UI as my Chromecast streaming devices and very similar to my Nvidia Shield that I used on my old TV. And if apps stop getting updates, I'll go back to using a streaming device plugged into my HDMI input. Image quality on this TV is fantastic, especially when paired with a 4K/UltraHD Blu-ray player and UltraHD Blu-rays (the ones that come in the black cases). The image processing on this TV is great for streaming too. I don't notice nearly as much pixelation in dark areas when streaming shows on Netflix or other apps. Even old 1080p content looks good. I have it connected to my Sony sound system so I can't comment on the sound quality of this TV. Other reviews I've watched say it's decent but I would probably still plan to get a sound bar or something for the best quality. I wish it wasn't so expensive but I have no regrets with this purchase. It's worth every penny.

Great picture, however, when using the remote as probably 100 % of people would, the TV will lock up, and will not respond to a channel change, or any other change. I have to unplug the TV to reset it, or it will not respond at all. A manufacturing lack of Quality Control. Also the Remote Control Does not have number Buttons on it, Re Engineering of this obvious mistake is very necessary.

Very bright picture, Good sound quality Nice looking tv

I haven't found anything i don't like about this tv. I used to be a die hard Samsung fan but with OLED tech, I found Sony to be better quality in my opinion. The picture is outstanding. I have my streaming service on 1 input and my PS5 on another. When i switch devices and streaming services the picture and the audio changes automatically (I think it learns after a couple of times adjusting). I watch a movie, everything goes to cinema, I watch a sitcom or tv show and it chooses Dolby or Dialog as needed. I switch to my PS5 and everything switches to Game mode. This is my first TV with Dolby Atmos and it is night and day compared to my old Samsung. Perfect example for this is the movie Interstellar (or pretty much any Christopher Nolan film). I was never able to hear the dialog and had to vol + or - constantly. The loud parts always seemed distorted. With this Sony tv, i can hear the dialog and the sound fx are clear and not overbearing. My next purchase will be a sound bar that supports Atmos to see how it sounds with a boost. Very happy with this purchase

Yeah sure it's an OLED and the contrast is great, response time is spectacular, Fine, sure, whatever. Forget all that. You can get that out of an LG B4. This is much more about the listening experience than the visual. The screen vibrates. It's supposed to, and you can't undersell how cool that is. I already had a Paradigm surround sound setup, and the display acting as an additional center channel just adds a whole new dimension to the soundfield. That "Acoustic Surface Audio" or whatever SONY calls it has changed the way I interact with the TV; watching/viewing is secondary, all I want to do is listen to all the little details that got washed out before.

After experiencing lifetimes of 5 and 6 years respectively on two mid-price models from Samsung, it was time to look elsewhere. Sony has always been about optics and sound and not household appliances. Based on reading many, many reviews and several viewing trips to the local BBY, it was decision time. As a brand, Sony models stood out from the pack. OLED was a must-have requirement. All the research and store level viewing was good, but having the actual in place in our home was even better. In particular, the sound quality and related options are just great. I’ve sat in front of friends’ tv’s with sound bars setups that aren’t any better than this model. Very pleased with this tv and especially the way BBY handled the transaction, delivery and set-up that exceeded expectations.

Perfect size for our room. Great color. Very good with dark/night scenes. It has good sound. I bought a soundbar to go with it. Probably could have saved that money, though there is some marginal improvement with movies.

I am a Sony fan and have 2 older models that are not smart tvs. This one is and it is great. It was easy to set up and hook up the sound bar. Picture is perfect and I have no problem hearing the actors over the loud noise or music in movies or tv. shows. So glad I bought it!

Our New Sony 55 Inch TV is absolutely fabulous, the picture is Crystal Clear, the colors are so Beautiful just phenomenal. Everything about this TV is Fantastic. You feel like you are at the Movies. I would recommend this Sony TV to everyone.

Took quite a bit to set up, but the image quality was great especially since it's a OLED. Especially the sound was great, didn't even buy any extra sound system.

The tv screen makes the picture look like real life. Really easy to set up. I don't run the tv apps. I run my apps through Roku and my cable box. If you catch this tv on sale I would highly recommend that you buy it.

I'll start by saying that the TV itself is beautiful and has great clarity. However, one of the most important parts of having a TV is having the ability to turn it on and off. Something the TV stopped doing 3 months ago. I've tried multiple remotes. I've ensured the software is up to date. I've reached out to Support. I've tried everything to get it to work, and nothing. Again, the TV itself is wonderful, but like others, the remote feels flawed, or at the very least the connection between the TV and remote. If you plan on controlling the TV with solely your phone (Google Home) app, you'll love this TV. Unfortunately, for me, I'm left with a sour taste every time I power it up from the TV itself.
