55” Exceptional device.

Seriously a no brainer especially at the current cost (nov 2025), especially for a device that’s been one of the most highly regarded over the last two years. Only issue is brightness. Could be better in well lit rooms. Not too much of a problem for me since I watch content in the dark, but it’s something to consider. Kinda kicking myself for not getting the 65inch though. Thought I was limited on space, and I was lured in by cost, but I could’ve have definitely gone a size higher. Too late for an exchange, so I can make do by shifting furniture around. Regardless, this is a worthwhile purchase.

I haven't owned this TV from Sony (Bravia XR95L) very long, but I feel safe in saying the picture on this TV is n nothing short of amazing. The TV's Sound is also very good - but I have been having some problems getting the best out of the TV Audio while it is connected to my Denon Receiver. I never had any problems with getting the Audio set up to maximize audio performance on previous TV's but I have either done something wrong when setting everything up or there is some other kind of issue. I need to research this some more and I will plan on updating this review when I get things figured out. Having said all of this, I am 100% confident saying that this is the absolute best TV I have ever owned - I just have some additional work to do to get Audio working the way i

XBR replacement

May do some tweeking of settings later but at least as good or better than the XBR55 that it replaced. Sound is better even before routing over through the Bose system we have and controls are easy to understand and simple. Had Sony televisions for years and will buy a 48" version of this series during the holidays as well for bedroom most likely now.

Asked 3, bb folks lg g5 or a95l. All of them said if $ is not a limitatikn a95l. Yes the picture looks great out if the box, no morion issues as you might see on you tube! Simply the bezt qd-oled tv you can buy. Brightness is not an issue either. Great TV…

The only thing I would have done differently is to get the 65 inch instead of the 55 . I originally purchased the Sony XBR 8 65 inch on the recommendation of the sales person saying it was just as good as the A95l . But after having the XBR 8 , one day I knew I had to switch . The problem is with the additional money I had to spend on the delivery, set up and re deliverey and set up again I could have gotten the 65 inch A95 l. . None the less , the Sony A95l is definitely the best tv on the market. FYI I did splurge and buy a Sonos ARC. It’s a perfect pair.

Excellent with a few quirks

Color was rich and vibrant. I would recommend this tv moreso for a light controlled room as overall I didn’t feel it was bright enough to overcome my living room brightness.I did have lip sync issues between this and my marantz receiver but I have heard you can adjust the audio delay to compensate. If this tv wasn’t so expensive I think I would have tried for the 77”

I feel it’s lacking in the image for some reason. It’s just not very bright. From all the reviews it’s supposed to be a bright Tv. I may need to check picture settings but I figure with the amount spent I shouldn’t have to do this. Overall I still enjoy the tv, but would be happier to get the image fixed as it’s very grainy on almost half of what I watch.

To improve brightness, please ensure "Eco Mode" and the "Light Sensor" are turned off in your settings, and set "Peak Luminance" to High. Regarding the graininess, this is often related to the source content or "Reality Creation" settings, so we recommend ensuring your firmware is updated to the latest version to optimize our XR Processor's performance.

Great Purchase

Very happy I ponied up for this one. Haven’t regretted the spend one bit, in fact, I’m happier with it each day. Blacks are incredibly deep. Streaming is crystal clear. Sports in particular are spectacular - football, basketball, golf, X games, all of it looks amazing.

Stock sound is incredibly good as well. Top mount camera is a bit of a gimmick and mostly useless however.

Great image but still not perfect

The image and refresh is great, but they make some poor decisions such as their optical cable design choice. Proprietary connections are a joke, just use a standard optical cable. Also not a fan of the camera that mounts to the top, seems like a gimmicky feature.

It’s slightly brighter but only in vivid mode and even then it seems over saturated. I don’t like the new settings menu and setup, they changed it not for the better. Picture is great but need to really tweak and play with the new settings. I have it 4 stars because it is a great tv but expensive.
