The picture is great. We were not going to spend $10000 for a TV so this was a good compromise

To hear the tv you have to turn it up a lot so if you should buy this tv I recommend to purchase a sound bar and/or woofer to enhance the sound. Otherwise, the picture is awesome!

Great TV but...

Material that is broadcast in 4k/UHD look really great. I'm not a huge fan of the Google OS however. I have a cheaper Google TV and they both have the same issue. They both constantly drop the WiFi Signal. The Amazon Firesticks, Roku TV and Apple TV that we also use have no issues. Both Google TV repeatedly say "Connected, No Internet" and the Network is a google network mesh system so you'd think they'd work together properly. Anyway, we also cant use ATT/DirectTV on Google OS so, we predominantly use the Amazon FireStick 4k's for that. The colors on the TV are very different (Better) on the native YouTube and Netflix Apps on the TV versus the same apps and shows on the Amazon Firestick though all settings on the TV are set the same both input choices (there a many custom options if you prefer) so, I'm not sure if that is an issue with the Amazon Firesticks or not

Subtitles make the area very greyed out with excess light. and I wish it got dimmer at night. I don;t know about sound quality, I use a stereo system

Not Worth the Price

The blacks do get dark, but in a nighttime scene, the image is very washed out and hazy. Adjusting the settings to compensate, completely crushes the scene. It’s really unacceptable for a TV of this price. Bright scenes do look good. The X90J also does a poor job of switching settings based on content. An SD program should trigger an SD preset, HDR content should trigger an HDR preset, and Dolby Vision should trigger a Dolby Vision preset. This does work occasionally, but most of the time it does not. My previous TV with the same Apple TV 4K switched flawlessly. The X90J… not so much. Watching an SD show when the TV is stuck in HDR makes everyone look like they have a bad sunburn. I’m not sure where the praise is coming from for this TV, maybe people have a low bar or not enough experience with other high end televisions. My last OLED did not last long, so I wanted to go back to LED, but this is just too painful to watch. This is getting returned and I will try my luck with another OLED.

We'd love to troubleshoot the issue and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, you may change the picture setting of the TV using the Sony Remote by Pressing the HOME button, then select [Settings] — [Display & Sound] — [Picture]. This will let you fine-tune your TV picture based on your preference or select one of our preset picture settings.
You can also select Auto picture mode; this automatically selects the picture mode based on the content being viewed. Good TV, but I question the remote

The remote turns on the TV and my DIRECTV cable box, with one touch. But it doesn't turn off my DIRECTV box with one touch. I find using my DirecTV remote most of the time, but when I want to stream I have to find my Sony TV remote.
