    Great tv...sound could be better.

The tv is beautiful. But the sound coule be better. I don’t know if I’m just used to the front mounted speakers, but having them mounted on the back seems counterintuitive. I have an enclosed entertainment cabinet, so by having rear mounted speakers it sounds like you are listening to the sound through a tin can. I had to buy a sound bar just so I didn’t go crazy. Of course, i haven’t bought a tv in well over 13 years. The last tv i bought was a Sony Bravia XBR 5? 6? Which was and still is a beautiful tv. The new tv has a crisper picture though. It is super thin and the picture is beautiful. It is also pretty light and easy to put together. I do wish it had come with an anchor like my old tv, just to make sure it doesn’t fall over. However it is sturdy on its base legs, but if you have small children you may want to mount it as it’s super light. We did have to exchange it, as it looks like someone dropped something heavy on the tv prior to putting it in the box. The box was not damaged but the top of the tv was bent and the screen had a lovely straight crease from the top to the bottom. It wasn’t Best Buy’s fault, and they were efficient and polite in the exchange. I will always buy Sony as it is a reliable company that makes awesome products.

    No need for roku

Onboard Android TV leaves no need for external devices like roku, unless you're too lazy to download the apps for streaming. 4k streams just fine. Antenna broadcasts are clear for 4k, including NFL broadcasts. Xbox one x plays just fine in uhd. Sony's never let me down, went from crt wega to LCD 1080p Bravia and now this badboy. This thing is a my newest family member.

I have owned Sony tv products for years and have always been very satisfied with their quality. My new tv is by far the best one I have owned. It has a superior picture with life-like colors. I find that I enjoy watching some older DVD movies and finding things that I never new were there before!

We returned a 55” TCL and exchanged for the Sony. Easy set up, far superior screen display, and my husband was able to use his Sony headphones without muting the main speakers. Love that the Sony DVD player pairs with it.

Good picture and easy to setup and access WiFi. Lots of apps already installed so you just need to sign into each one you use. The only con is the pictures fades when viewing from the side. I'm happy with the television.

    Sony quality

I looked around alot read reviews and was stuck between this and 8 series Samsung which of course has a bright very colorful display but I prefer the Sonys more realistic color I know this is more of entry level tv for Sony yet still love the picture quality and how it's not so colorful that it look fake like many 4k tvs don't get me wrong Samsung make great tv but Sony always just made great product and this tv doesn't disappoint I got my tv on sale it's usually 799 and I got it for 599 the 8 Series Samsung I believe was 750 for 55inch .The other winning factor for the Sony was Google tv and Android TV os witch isn't full Google play but any apps you can't find on the TV version of Google play store you can sideload if you Google side load you find plenty of advise how to do so I'd recommend this tv to anyone looking for good quality TV at great price point hdr isn't the best but again this is a entry level tv yet still great for anything you want it for like gaming and movie

A great sony tv. Super easy to set up, and purchased for $479. This was less than the price Bestbuy showed online. A plesant surprise when I went in to buy it. Best buy may be discontinuing this model as it is a 2018. However, if you can find it in their system, it's a hands down winner as far as I'm concerned.

    Eye catcher

Let me start off by saying that I wasn't there to buy this TV specifically... I was buying a Samsung. During my evaluation of the Samsung, something else caught my eye. It was the Sony 750! Absolutely stunning picture! The Samsung didn't even come close. Absolutely shocking as to how great this flat screen TV is. Highly recommend!!

    GREAT TV

This TV has a very good picture, and the sound is better than other TV's I own. I had the Geek Squad deliver and set up the TV, so I can't comment on how easy that was other than to say it looked very simple. I have made several adjustments to the factory settings. Those were simple, too, and I am very pleased with the changes I was able to achieve. My father has macular degeneration and a hearing loss. I was able to adjust the picture and sound to better accommodate his needs.

Great Picture - Terrible Operating System

    Posted .

The TV hardware - great image for the price, acceptable sound but could use a soundbar/external speakers, brightness levels are good as well, could use a little more high end brightness but we did find it sufficient for very comfortable daytime viewing. The software - destroys the entire experience of owning this TV. Google has invaded Sony, and Sony has allowed it's products to be assimilated by the Droid. If you love Android and think that paying to have Google further invade your life and privacy is just peachy - SKIP reading the rest and just go buy this TV, I do like it's picture quality. If you feel as though paying for a product that facilitates invasive data gathering so that both Google and Sony can use you as a data collection tool to help them make even more money is a bad thing -- READ ON. Short version - don't buy a smart TV with an Android operating system. Long version: Sony and Google now have us paying for hardware that helps increase their profit margins, without paying us anything in return. Yup, they've found more ways to invade our once safe space - late evening, living room, cozy on the sofa with a good show. Not only that, but the software itself makes the TV's interface very slow and sluggish at times, even affecting video playback when menus (such as picture adjustment) are accessed during playback. The first think you'll notice when you turn the TV on is being bombarded with APP suggestions, they aren't even installed yet there they are in your face. Tom's Guide had to write a 24 section how to titled "Sony Bravia Android TV Settings Guide 2018: What to Enable, Disable and Tweak". I don't suggest this guide, I'd say it is required reading to properly operate this TV. In the guide he goes over how to get all the clutter out of your face, with one procedure requiring you to go into a system app's settings to turn off notifications just so you aren't bombarded with suggestions. Quick recap - you paid for the TV, and all the TV does in it's default mode is try to milk you for more money. BUY BUY BUY, this APP, that Movie, this Service, etc... If we're going to pay our hard to be advertised to, shouldn't some ethical committee exist to hold Sony and Google to some standard? We are being treated as cash milking cows. Not only are we being advertised to, but I'd say it will take folks between 2-6 hours to just get to know how this thing operates. By "folks" I mean modern, android-familiar, technologically comfortable people. I don't mean an older person or someone who fears smart phones and computers (yes, they still exist). I could not give this TV to my mother, for instance - she'd be terrified of it. The manual dexterity alone required to NOT push the wrong button on the remote could easily escape some of the more elderly, non-tech oriented people in this world. Dear Sony - it's a TV. One should be able to turn it on and see TV oriented stuff. Simple menus, fast processing, clear navigation. In 5 minutes, a person (any person) should be able to go from turning the TV on to using the TV. This thing has already stolen hours of my life. Why oh why is there a HOME button that takes you to a home page with APPS, and then an APPS button that takes you to a "Sony Select" page with yet MORE APPS on it? How do I get rid of those apps? WHY, why are those apps even there? If you end up buying this TV and got into this review, please see the Tom's Hardware Guide mentioned above. Also, BEWARE - you don't have to allow Sony and Google to have 100% of the data created by your new Advertising and Marketing Data Collection Tool (AMDCT for short). You can find info by Consumer Reports in an online piece titled "How to Turn Off Smart TV Snooping Features", which goes over the top "Smart" TV models and outlines how to reduce the data collected from your TV to the MINIMUM amount possible. There is no way to stop it completely unless you never connect your TV to the internet and only use the inputs for viewing any material. At some point, Sony and especially Google, should cut it's users in on a share of the profits they helped create for both companies.

    Sony Loyal

I've been a loyal Sony purchaser for years. My last Sony flat screen made it ten years. I appreciate the ease of use of the newer technology and the larger screen that takes up no more room than my last tv. I don't care for the gloss finish, but I'm getting used to it.
