    Amazing Display

I received my TV on June 29th. No problems with delivery. The Box was perfect … The TV had no scratches, no marks or dead pixels. Mounting the TV to the wall, Updating the TV, Login In to my Android account, calibrating colors and testing it out took about an hour and a half more or less. The Picture is amazing! I’ve already played a few Netflix Movies, You Tube videos, and Played Xbox on it. I have to say this took everything I threw at it in three days very well. There are just a few little hiccups with the TV. The response time from remote to TV can sometimes get laggy. The volume sometimes either doesn’t work right away, or it is delayed. When the TV is hooked up to the internet it sometimes has to be reconnected again. When watching Netflix on the built in app. If you by accident hit one of the buttons on the remote… say INPUT .. the tv starts to stutter. I also notice that if you are watching a movie with subtitles the blacks in the show/movie turn grey. It’s noticeable while you are watching TV during the night. Also there is some light bleeding on the bottom corners of the TV. Again not to noticeable unless there is a night scene. I am sure that there are other features on this tv that I have not access yet. I only wish that there was a place where I can find the right calibration and also a place to find out all the features of my tv has to offer. Other than that I am happy with my purchase. I should’ve done a little bit more research and find a tv that didn’t have the little annoying things that I’ve discovered with my tv. I am pretty happy and I just hope that the TV has a long life.

Just breaking myself into 4K/smart/UHD with HDR tv’s so I haven’t explored all the functions/capabilities but I’m blown away with everything so far. Pic, incredible. Price, affordable. Setup, can be tricky for us IOS/Apple users and that leads me to my one complaint. Google hates The Apple company and its products and almost had me looking into other brands. Why is it one or the other instead of living together in harmony? Had to set up google account, have to dowmload apps on my phone to have half the control that non-Apple users enjoy carefree. Still haven’t be able to mirror my IPhone to it, spending less than an hr attempting it. The placement of the speakers aremt ear friendly but they want you to buy (a Sony) soundbar Read that the Bluetooth doesn’t work even with other Sony products, haven’t attempted Bluetooth in 2 weeks I’ve owned it. Lag time with remote, notthing that I’ve experienced. Popping sound when FF or RW with remote, can’t say I’ve heard it. This set is my 3rd Sony replacement tv and it’s due technology exceeding my capabilities. But given away perfectly good working sets as try and keep up with ever changing technology. In short, if they would stop being one sided and embrace both operating software/Apple & Google, it’d be darn near perfect.

I chose this TV after already having a 4k UHD Samsung 55" which was DOA. I looked over LG, Samsung, Hisense and TCL, looking for 4k, 55" screen at a great price. I chose Sony for quality vs the others at a lower price, and was attracted to android TV, even though I tend to use Chromecast hdmi sticks and Google home, and didn't really need a Smart TV. I was happy about the idea of having android as the platform vs other proprietary OS's., and I wouldn't have to use my phone as I planned on using a non cable or satellite provider (cut the cord!). The operation is good, Sony's interface works well, and you can sideload apps, which provides the flexibility I wanted. All of this coupd be easier, but I am pleased overall with the capability. Cons Processor isn't quite capable to handle the interface to be snappy, so lag exists. Certain apps will need to be force closed after turning tv set off and back on the next day (Sling TV). The OS does not turn off when you turn the tv off, so I tend to reboot it once a week. Pricey PROS Outstanding functionality and customization Scrren viewing angles 4k display is very sharp (with 4k sources!) Chromecast built in

I have all Samsung TVs in my home and wanted to try a different brand...This Sony was a great option!!! I wish that the blacks were darker, the other colors are fine...This tv is a little higher on price compared to the other 55 inch 4K televisions...But, good for what I need it for...Not the best 4K in my opinion...But, worth it...I hope it last as long as my other televisions...It's also a plus that I can download PS Vue...One of the main reasons I purchased this one over the others...Plus the 3 USB and 4 HDMI is a major plus!!!

I’m an admitted electronics junkie. I read Consumer Reports & check out customer reviews prior to making any purchase no matter what the price is. So when I found this great deal on this TV for my parents, I couldn’t pass it up! I love Samsung & Sony for their quality. The picture on this TV is beautiful but you can really only appreciate it in HD programming. If you’re only using it on local channels with basic cable, don’t expect to be dazzled. Sony has finally stepped up their smart menu as well...although I will say I still prefer Samsung’s more as it is a bit more user friendly. I use Roku boxes throughout my household though so the smart menu is neither here nor there. If you’re looking for picture quality and plenty of HDMI outputs in a larger, name-brand TV with a small price, this is it!

I wish I could give it 4.5 stars, but that's not an option. The picture this screen projects is simply lifelike in 4k/ultra HD. I see more, if that makes sense. Streams Netflix and Amazon Prime (both have 4k content, I believe) with dedicated remote buttons for each. Connects to and controls our older Sony Amplifier (3-4 yrs old) and even allows settings control through the monitor's software and remote. My only somewhat negative remarks are probably things that don't really matter all that much. Boot up time while connected to the amp is a bit long, pretty expected. But the software can also be slow to react to commands which cause a lot of waiting when your bouncing around menus and pages. Maybe one day a software update can help with that. All in all, me and my family recommend it!

I would have given this TV a 5, but the streaming User interface, WIFI, and Ethernet connections have not improved at all in the last 5 years apparently. I still need to run my streaming services hard connected through my ROKU Ultra into an HDMI port for reliable, fast navigation and uninterrupted streaming. The Sony UI is sluggish and streaming directly through the Ethernet port is unreliable, and the built in WIFI is horrid. To be fair, I have yet to see any smart TV that was any good at those functions. That being said, ROKU plus Sony TV.......I am very happy.

This tv is awesome, BUT.... You definitely need to buy the sony sound bar with subwoofer. The speaker on the tv isn't enough or up to par by itself. Also 4 hdmi ports are great! BUT, only 2 of them do true 4k HDR, which is sad cause I have a lot of things to plug in like my xbox one, rodu 4k, and amazon stick. The sad thing is if you buy the sound bar, that plugs into one of the 4k hdr hdmi ports, leaving you with one 4k hdr port left and the other two just do normal 4k without the fast frame rate or hdr. So you have to pick and choose what gets that one special 4k hdr port. Other then that, the tv looks amazing! Tv has a loud turn on click and off click

Great Picture, Horrible OS and apps

For the money, this TV has a great picture. Brilliant colors and excellent contrast, especially when viewing HDR10 content. Where the TV really fails is with Sony's insistence on using Android TV for its smart apps. It may be hard to believe, but this severely limits the ability of many apps to display 4K content on this TV, particularly Vudu and FandangoNow. According to both Vudu and FandangoNow, this si beause they deem that Android 7.0 (which this TV comes with) is not secure enough for 4K content. Sony has refused to comment on this. My recommendation would be to purchase a Roku or Samsung UHD Blu-ray player if you want to watch Vudu in 4K.

The TV has very nice color and resolution. The dynamic response seems very good from action movies to sports on TV. The smart TV programs are nice and work quickly (a drawback I have seen in past). Only issue I have is there are a few bugs that are a little annoying. I seems that the TV turned on by itself, but can't tell if it didn't completely turn off to begin with, either way it was an annoyance. One other bug we saw early on was that we had an issue where we switched from Netflix to TV and sound was lost (TV had to be turned off for 10 minutes to come back). Have not had this issue for awhile so the bug might have been fixed.

There were no instructions for setting up for local channels. Had to get an engineer from our local Channel 10 to set up so I can get local channels. I didn't like the base. Had my woodworking son-in-law make me a very nice wood base for it. The opening instructions were on the bottom of the box. I opened it from the top. Had it set up before I found the box opening instructions that were on the bottom. Other than that, it is a great set. I would like to have an audio output to feed a wireless headphones transmitter that is not digital. So I don't have to use a digital to analog converter. (I am hard of hearing)

First HDTV after 18 years on a tube TV (it just wouldn't die! :-)). Very pleased with picture quality. Set up was very easy (hardest part was moving old tube set). Only "complaint" is that the remote. Seems to have a delay at times, the power on button doesn't seem to power on the cable box (which it seems to need after being sleeping for a while, didn't before?), and the "info" button on our cable remote doesn't seem to have a companion on the TV remote (although synchro seems ok). Have yet to hook up our blu-ray player. 4k/UHD content is awesome, though that content is limited right now from the looks of it. Overall, really like this TV!

I originally picked up the Samsung 8000 but just couldn't get over the lag and I am a Samsung fan boy lol. So was alot for me to return. Picked this up and LOVE it. The colors are ridiculous, especially watching 4k. 1 star off for the edge lit panel. Blacks aren't truly black. I can forgive it. The android platform works great. Easy set up as I have a galaxy phone...Overall great TV! Not a $1500 TV, so have realistic expectations. They exceeded mine.

Great TV - Little Black Light Bleed

This TV is excellent for picture quality. I have no complaints on image quality as I came from an old 1080p Wal-Mart TV. I have noticed some small black light bleed in the upper corner but that is expected with an IPS panel. It is really only noticeable with a pure black image. I am docking 1 star for the AndriodTV operating system. The system still needs some work as sometimes it is slow to respond and some apps have issues where I need to restart the TV to get them to work. Not sure if this can be placed on the app developers or just faults in the OS. Overall this is a great TV for not much $.

TV is hands down the best TV I have ever purchased, everything works great, sophisticated yet simple navigation through all product capabilities, and looks amazing. The only thing I was not pleased with is the remote. It doesn't have light-up buttons so you can't see the buttons in the dark so this sucks if you like watching movies or playing video games in the dark. Also, the remote actually needs to be pointed at the TV for it to work, kind of like they did 10 years ago. I tried changing the channel from some odd angles and it simply wouldn't work.

I like a lot about this TV except two things: 1) The darkness of the black color spectrum is disappointing based on the hype (a bit milky), and 2) The Android interface for the apps is substandard compared to the Apple interfaces on our home and office devices, i.e. Netflix and Hulu. On the plus side, I really like the shortcuts to get to my favorite apps/channels, especially since we got rid of our cable and are exclusively internet. That aside, it's still a pretty nice TV and would still recommend it. Too bad Apple doesn't make a physical TV product.

I was attempting to purchase a tv with the clarity my son has on a Samsung tv. It looked pretty good in the store but it does not compare. His tv is so sharp it looks 3d. It looks like you could cut it it is so clear. Amazing. Couldn't get husband to help me to get it returned so guess we are keeping it Don't get me wrong it is a good image, just not supreme as the one my son has that he got for $600 on a black friday weekend purchase in 2012 or 2013. Dissapointed as I thought with all they hype of uhd 4k I would get it.

Amazing picture quality but very poor processor speed for anything. When you are using an app and trying to put the volume up and down it doesn't react immediately it always lagging and freezing . It's stupid how they put this weak processor on this brilliant Tv. Buy the 120hz one if u have coupe hundred more dollars to spend . I am returning Thai for a faster model

Bought this TV cause I switched from Cable to streaming and my old TV was not a smart TV. This TV (android OS) does a great job of functioning between app based TV and cable and or antenna TV. Its a 4K TV, If I had to do it over again I may have settled for a 1080i TV as the content and broadcasts for 4K just aren't pervasive yet. Sometimes this TV doesn't downscale well to lower quality broadcasts, I hope as more content moves to 4K or at a minimum 1080 it becomes less of an issue.

I have all Sony products in my house. I have 2 Android TV's. After having an Android TV i can never us another UI. Everything is built in with this TV. The screen is amazing. Ive seen some reviews stating poor black levels. I honestly havent had any issues. I had a small party at my house and my guest said over and over how clear the picture is. To get the best results find the recommended calibration settings (RTings.com). The settings out of the box can be improved.
