This is not the experience that we want you to have. This isn't normally the case with the X77L. Sony's commitment to customer satisfaction is our top priority.
Performing a power reset on your TV may resolve this issue if it's caused by a temporary malfunction:
-Unplug the TV power cord from the wall outlet (or from the back of the TV or power adapter if the power cord is detachable and accessible), wait two minutes, then plug the power cord back in.
Note: If your TV power cord is completely inaccessible, you may be able to disconnect the power by temporarily turning off the circuit breaker switch to the power outlet used by your TV.
Check if any devices connected to your TV are causing an issue (such as a malfunctioning device or a data communication issue):
-Turn off the TV.
-Disconnect all devices (including any external USB devices, hard drives, and all HDMI-connected devices) from the TV.
-Turn on the TV and check if the issue goes away (which means the TV is not the cause). If the TV is working, continue with the steps to help identify the cause.
-Reconnect your devices one at a time to your TV, testing the TV after connecting each device.
-If the indicator starts blinking after a certain device is connected, check that device for an issue.

I stuck with SONY because I feel the company still makes quality products that last. The picture quality is great- colors pop, plenty of brightness, and of course the images are sharp with 4K content. Google TV is OK as the smart TV interface. Apps are easy to install and work fine. I really wanted to play my converted movies through an external hard drive, but the TV seems to reject whatever I plug in (they are formatted ExFat which should work). Sound is about as good as you’d expect from a thin TV. It’s nice and clear, and gets loud. But there’s not much bass or depth. It’s fine, but if you want good sound, you use a soundbar or theater system. There are only 3 HDMI ports, so if you have multiple devices it may be a problem. It is for me- I’m going to have to buy an HDMI switch for sure. Setup was easy. I think we had the apps we use and all updates done in about 15 minutes. If you want to disable motion flow, you’ll have to do it for each input (and the Google TV apps). Not a big deal, but wish this was off by default. Overall, I feel great about my purchase. It’s a worthy upgrade and if it lasts as long as our last SONY, I’ll be really happy.

Sony Bravia is the Best

Knew Sony was kinda out of my price range but took one look at this tv and the picture and fell in love. Super easy to setup and fits perfectly in my family room. If your on the fence just go buy it you won't be disappointed.

Google TV interface and UI is great and responsive, much better option than some other TV OS/UIs I've experienced. Setup was very simple. Picture quality seems great and on par for this price range. Using a sound bar so I cannot comment on audio quality. So far this TV has been a quality upgrade to our living room experience.
