I have had other smart TVs and they have not worked as well and need to get a Roku to go with it. Not with this TV - never use my Roku anymore - only use the Smart features on this tv to get all of my content. It was easy to set up and has a great picture. One thing to note is the legs if you want to put it on a stand are on the ends so measure your TV stand to ensure it will fit - if not you will need to hang. Fortunately for us, it fits.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Picture and sound quality is great, I like the ease of access to streaming apps, love that google tv is built-in, but the only thing I don't like is that the tv will randomly disconnect from wifi and not connect back until I unplug the tv and restart the tv. Besides that its a great tv that I got for a great price. Also in comparison to the Samsung Q70A, they're nearly identical but with the Sony X80J in my opinion having better in sound quality, picture quality slightly better, access to more to streaming apps and price point extremely favorable and you get more bang for your buck.

It was easy to set up and the picture is great using the factory settings so far. I see no reason to change anything. One minor point is the high gloss screen reflects any light in the room like a mirror and can be seen in the picture. Turn off the lights behind the viewing position if possible. Good value for the money.

We put it in our living room, its our multipurpose television. The girls will be watching video's on youtube or streaming as well as occasional gaming. My wife will be watching parades, the morning news and cooking shows with it and I'll be watching all the sports, so this set will and has satisfied a variety of television uses and I would actually have one or two more of them as we all have different sets in our rooms, but for the living room, this is a very very good set.

Not as many inputs as more expensive TVs, but adequate when paired with an HDMI switch. Sound is good for the small downward firing speakers. A wedge made of hard/reflective material placed under the speakers works well to redirect the sound. Picture quality is very good for the price. Motion smoothing is good. Back lighting shows slight shading along edges and especially corners in some scenes, but is generally not noticeable. If you need a 55" TV, but don't need the perfect (and expensive) unit, this is a good choice.

I am using an Xfinity box and Apple TV. Picture quality out of the box is nice, but with a few tweaks, the picture really pops! I have it paired to a Sony sound bar and it really completes the purchase. I don’t use Google TV that is part of this TV’s OS, so I can’t speak of that. As a lower end 4K TV, and at its price point, I couldn’t be happier.
