Installation by the Best Buy Geek Squad and so far everything is working well. Replaced another Sony 40 inch ten year old Bravia that gave excellent service over the years. The new set has an excellent picture, good clarity, and great to watch sports (Olympics).and regular programs . We bought a Sony sound bar too and that has not been quite as successful. Voice not clear, too much bass, and doesn’t always sync with on and off on remote. Looking forward to watching Super Bowl on the new set this coming weekend. Received as Christmas gift but not delivered and set up until January 20th. Worth the wait tho..!

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV set that has tons of things you can adjust for a more personal experience.This TV gives you more control on just about everything.I also love the sound.With most tvs I have to use Closed Caption because I have a hard time making out what people are saying but with this tv the voices are always clear and distinct and I don't have to use CC.The remote takes a while to get use to but you can add a roku stick or cast to the tv and watch anything and everything.

Glad we returned the TCL that we had originally purchased and paid a little more for this Sony. The interface is MUCH faster and smoother. Picture quality is really nice considering it is not on the high end and we aren't streaming in 4k with regularity. Sound quality is better than the previous one we had and serves our purposes. Setup was quick and adding apps was pretty easy too. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

This is the only TV that I have been able to see in the daytime when the sun is out without sitting directly in front of the tv. This one I can see even from the side. The brightness and sharp color is awsome. So much so I purchased a second tv to replace my 40" Samsung that was working fine. I was spoiled. And the GeekSquad did a great job.

There's a reason this tv is discounted already

For gaming, it has very low video lag when picture is set to Game mode(though, the picture settings need a few major tweaks after setting to game mode because the default settings are very poor). With a few tweaks to the picture settings, the picture can look great. The "Live Color" feature really makes certain parts of games pop and stand out in a fantastic way. The reason for the low rating is because upon setting up the tv, I quickly discovered a baseball sized bright spot in the bottom-left area of the screen which appeared to be an issue with the backlight. It was bad enough that I had Best Buy exchange the tv out for a new one of the same model(as I mentioned, the picture looked great aside from this defect). I just got a replacement tv delivered and it has an even worse bright spot on the bottom-right area this time. I am going to return the tv again and this time switch to a different brand.

Reduce the Backlight Level in the Picture Settings menu.
Turn the Light Sensor setting to On in the Setup menu.
Change the Power Saving setting to Low or High in the Setup menu.
Set the Picture Mode to Standard in the Settings menu.

Kids prompted me to get a Sony. I talked w a Best Buy tech person ( all on the phone) and decided to get a 55 inch Sony and it looks great. I still don’t know what “ google” gets me but I do have all the apps on it that I want . I think the sound can be a bit better so my kids told me to get a sound bar. I’m not going to. Price was right for the tv; same as Costco.
