UNHAPPY WITH THE SONY PURCHASE

The tv shuts off on its own and on the remote control the channel and the numbers buttons sometimes don't work where I have to reset each time. The volume and the on/off buttons are the only ones that work. I would check all the buttons each time to make sure none are stuck and all buttons are in place. We already have to call in a tech for the short time we've had this tv. We are not happy at all.

Check the remote control for damage. A damaged remote control should be replaced. Go to Parts and Accessories. Make sure the device to be controlled is on and functional. Press the power button directly on the device, not the remote control. Make sure you are within 3-10 feet of your device and pointing the remote control at the IR sensor of the device.

Wi-Fi issues make TV useless

Honest opinion

I only bought this because it was supposed to be good for gaming. Got it home and set up. Won’t play 4K at 120fps only 120fps at 1080p . Had I known this I would not have bought it.

Issues from the get go

Within the first month, the tv started randomly turning off. I chalked it up to the power cord not being plugged in correctly, as doing the factory reset unplug & replug seemed to work. 3 months in and the TV won’t even turn on. I’ve tried all steps and the farthest I’ve gotten is a frozen SONY welcome screen. What a waste. Almost $800 down the drain for 3 months of owning a tv. Never purchasing a sony model again.

Drops WiFi

This is not the experience that we want you to have. These steps may help resolve the issue:
1. The Wi-Fi signal strength is weak
-Place the router close to your TV, then check if the signal strength has improved.
2. Your TV is too close to the router
-It is recommended that the TV and router be at least 1 meter (3 feet) apart.
3. Other devices are connected to the same network
-If other devices are downloading large-sized files, such as videos, the network speed may slow down. Cancel or wait until this activity completes and try again.
4. Restart your TV and reset your router
5. Interference from other wireless devices
-If multiple wireless devices or electric equipment, such as microwave ovens, are used at home, it may affect the Wi-Fi performance of your TV. Power off these devices when not in use, or keep them away from your TV.
6. Check the frequency band setting of your router (for dual-band routers)
-Some routers support multiple frequencies (ex: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz), if your router supports this feature, try a different frequency.

The sharpness and clarity of the picture will depend on the source that you're playing. So for example, when a video in standard quality is being scaled up and played back, the quality will look poor, even on an HDTV. A video must have high definition quality to be played back at high quality on an HDTV. A video with SD quality cannot be converted to high definition quality or displayed in standard resolution without stretching. However, by adjusting the Sharpness and Picture Mode of the TV, the quality can be improved
