Very happy with this Sony car stereo. Easy to install. Touch screen works great. Volume controll knob was the main reason for picking this unit. Apple car play is awsome. Sound quality is twice as good as the original toyota unit that it replaced, with the same speakers. I would recommend this to anyone looking to modernize their vehicle.

Junk. Constantly black screen “no video signal” video is off. Have to disconnect battery to reset. Don’t buy this garbage

Install went smooth and it works great. Touch screen works well and the apply car play is a game changer. Put it in my 2004 wrangler and it’s made a world of difference. Sound quality is much improved over my old radio head. The knob for volume control is great, nothing more annoying than trying to tap the volume down at the drive through. With the wheel you can go from full volume to off in a split second.

Easy to install, great control interface, Carplay works great, outstanding sound, and lots of power! Crystal clear display on this unit is very impressive for the price, and having the Carplay USB on the front of the unit is very convenient. Love the fact that this has a physical volume knob rather than fumbling around for up/down buttons. I highly recommend this unit

Has Apple car play which is great- I was instructed not to have Bluetooth on or use it with this head unit as it will interfere with Apple car play as u need to use the usb. Maybe that is what caused issues with other reviewers. All the various settings are pretty straight forward . there are a lot of preset Eq options. The ability to select crossover for your sub and other speakers is great, It’s easy to use AND THERE IS A VOLUME KNOB! Has great sound

The stereo was easy to install, very easy to use, the touchscreen is responsive, sound quality is excellent, and the features useful.The only issues I have is lack of support for album art, and folders are not in alphabetical order when browsing the usb drive.

I recently upgraded my 2013 Jeep sound system. I wanted Bluetooth and a Apple Play. This stereo hit all the buttons! Best Buy did the install and did an amazing job. I went ahead and added a backup camera as well, and the quality is perfect. The ability to play my Apple music, have text or emails read to me, and google maps has me feeling like I am driving a brand new car again. Didn't give it five stars only because of the jumping back and forth that has to be done to get from Apple Play to Sirius radio. Wish this model would've had it all integrated. Definitely recommend!

Shoutout to Best Buy in Marysville, WA! Great install and very friendly! This unit was installed on my 2014 WRX and it’s amazing! Sound quality is amazing! Never realized how horrible the stock stereo was. The apple CarPlay is very user friendly. No lagging issues for me. You can’t beat this product for the price.

I needed something to fit in my bmw. I did a double din conversion and had to relocate the a/c controls and remove the cubby spot. this fits perfectly in the space as there's a "shelf" like space where the factory single din radio sat. The screen fits perfect! The quality and overall function is great! It's also a major plus that it has apple carplay!

installed this on my son's '08 F150 with an E-sky license plate camera and the two work together phenomenally well. For the '08 F150 we needed to get the metra wiring harness 70-5521 for this vehicle and metra double din kit 95-5812, which can be prewired in the house and effectively makes this a plug and play device. We also needed a metra 40-CR10 antenna adapter for this truck. Total for all 3 is about $25 online. The power out of this unit is incredible and the physical presentation is great. The simple ease of use makes my son's '08 truck feel like a brand new vehicle with apple car play. With the aftermarket Kenwood speakers we put in last year, this blows away the system in my 2018 Platinum Tundra. Makes me want to trade it in for a new TRD Pro save some money and upgrade my system!

I bought this as a replacement for Kenwood receiver that stopped working after about 7 years. The main features I wanted was the ability to add a backup camera, Apple Car play, a USB port on the front, and volume control knob instead of the up/down arrow keys found on my old Kenwood radio (which used to get stuck periodically). The overall interface is easy to use. Apple car play works very well and the sound quality using the phone interface much better than my previous radio receiver. I opted to get the Sirius radio add on as well as a backup camera and both work very well. The only kind of minor thing I would change is that the time on the radio turner is a bit too small (I like glancing at the clock in the car as I don't use a watch) and the radio information broadcast about the artist/song also too small for me to read easily at a glance. Otherwise overall very happy with this radio receiver and would recommend it.

This SONY deck has pretty good sound. The controls are simple. It has a knob for sound control and backup camera input. The Apple Play has been help in navigation. It’s a good system for most users. I’ve been pleased having it.

Purchased this for a 2004 Subaru Outback LL Bean edition. What a huge improvement over the stock stereo system. This unit is very easy to use and provides an outstanding Apple CarPlay interface. The phone works very well with an excellent microphone so people hear me clearly. it's easy to make and receive calls without touching my phone. It's also easy to access my music and podcasts without having to handle/look at my phone. The free installation by Best Buy (Woodbridge VA) was outstanding. I highly recommend this unit as well as BBY's installation service.

This is an excellent unit overall. Great sound, has a traditional physical volume nob that you can also use to quickly talk to Siri, and of course Apple Car Play. Car Play has been great...only thing it took me a few minutes to figure out is that each app has it's own volume. So for example if you want to have Navigation directions a little louder, you need to turn up the volume as you are getting directions, not while the radio is playing. They are separate. Geek Squad install was super smooth, only negative was I had to wait a couple weeks to get it. Overall, very happy!

Easy DIY install in the wife’s Patriot. She picked right up on the layout and functions. Love the volume knob interface! CarPlay works flawlessly and BT functions as it should. Like the availability of a backup cam input for her as well. Overall very happy!

I absolutely love all the features of this Sony AX1000 receiver. The knob is old school and I missed having a knob on my last Kenwood. All the features I use the most are easy to find when you need to change a setting. The sound is amazing. It makes my stock speakers sound like I have an amp hooked to them... But then there is the issue that really really disappoints me. The CarPlay does not work half the time. It usually takes a couple times of plugging in and unplugging my phone just to recognize it. Then it just stops working randomly. Music stops, maps freeze. Sometimes it will start working again and sometimes I have to unplug my phone and plug it in again. It's really disappointing because I'm a huge Sony fan. This problem happens enough where unfortunately I'm probably going to be taking the receiver back and try the Sony AX5000 series without the knob. If the issue still occurs I guess I'm done with Sony CarPlay receivers.

Put this in a car I bought for my kids. For me it only took a few minutes to figure out how to use the different functions. Only hard thing to figure out is how to turn it off. It’s fairly intuitive and easy to use. However, there are not as many options as with the non touch screen stereos I installed in other cars. It also only connects to one cell phone at a time. It doesn’t store more than one so you you have to re-synch every time a different driver uses the car. Other than that the sound is good and the touch screen works well.

I bought this Sony a year ago for my 2012 Mazda 3 mainly so I could have Apple CarPlay (which is a game changer!). Sound is superb whether using the tuner or CarPlay. The interface is easy, and very good screen visibility. I really like the physical volume knob -- intuitive! The only feature I would like that is available in more expensive models is wireless CarPlay, but I don't mind using the USB... Also purchased a back-up camera, so my car is now up-to-date :). Excellent installation at Best Buy (Monroeville, PA).

This is a great stereo for the money. The screen is large and clear with sharp colors. It has a volume knob that is very convenient and easy to adjust rather than using up/down buttons like on most other stereos. There is also a "Home" button located on the top left that quickly takes you back to the main screen. The touch screen is very responsive and icons are large enough to easily select what you intended while keeping your eyes mainly on the road. The Apple CarPlay feature works great and connects instantly using the USB port located on the front of the stereo allowing hands-free calling and navigation as well as music control. I had Best Buy install the stereo as well as a license plate mounted backup camera. The stereo installation was included with purchase (just had to buy the dash mount separately). The picture on the screen with the camera is clear and in full color.
