The Sony XAV-AX1000 is a great stereo. It looks neat and clean and gave my car a fresh look. The interface is simple and the touch screen worked great. The sound was amazing and the Car Play feature was why I bought this stereo. Definitely would recommend!

This is the second Sony AX100 that I have purchased. The CarPlay functionality, especially for the price, is fantastic. The first one, that I bought six months prior, was slightly better in my opinion, because of the ability to import a custom photo on the background (vehicle manufacturer logo really makes it look stock) and the newer model only has USB access on the front vs. only on the back (I prefer to conceal my cables). That said, the ability to have CarPlay or Android Auto functionality for such a low price is worth it. The unit looks good and easy to operate. My speakers never sounded so good.

I loved the knob for volume instead of the button options to control volume, easy to set up, great price for the item.

Highly Recommend. I don't usually go for fancy gadgets in my car. My car is old enough that it came stock with a CD player. I bought this stereo so that I could use apple car play. This unit is a bargain, considering it's from a reputable brand. This product is easy to use. The touch screen is responsive. It's easy to clean and I like that it includes some physical buttons and a volume knob. This makes it easy to turn off quickly. The install was fast and the customer service was outstanding.

Amazing stereo! I installed it myself and it was really simple. Works fantastic with Apple CarPlay and the mic that comes with it works great. I cannot express how convenient it is to have maps and music all in the same display. 10/10

I love everything about this radio!! It’s user friendly. I love that it has a knob for the volume. The screen size is good and Apple CarPlay is awesome!

Overall, I am very pleased with this product! I wanted to update my 2005 Camry and this was the solution. Music and phone calls are loud and clear, easy to use CarPlay, and decent graphics. The free installation from the Geek Squad was a nice bonus and only took about an hour for my car. Next step will be the backup camera.

It’s a great value. Bluetooth works great. Adding the back up camera is a recommended add. Touch screen is a plus. All around great product. In-line with Sony quality

Sounds amazing, easy to navigate menus. Bluetooth connects fast. Also has a remote for when you’re tailgating lol

Works as expected. Was a little more than I wanted to spend but installation is included and that is awesome. It only took them about 25 minutes.

The radio was installed at my local Best Buy. It went into a 2003 F150. Installation was fast and the finished product looks great. Be aware of some of the short comings of this unit. ! bluetooth device at a time. Older Ipods, those with the control wheel, will NOT operate through the USB connection. The only way to use them is through the AUX connection. With that being said, the sound has been great. EQ settings are easy to access, even one you can adjust. I have a small sub woofer working and it does great. The readout is large and clear, but lack of info on the AUX input is disappointing. With an appropriately newer IPhone, all this will propably be addressed. Overall, a very good system with great sound.

Nice upgrade for the outdated radio on our 2006 Ford E-350. Now we have ApplePlay, Navigation and Backup camera on one screen. It fits perfectly into the dashboard and looks like OEM

I love my new radio and Apple Car Play. Overnight my 2012 RAV4 came into the 2020's! If I were to do anything differently I would have done wireless. "Just one more thing" to plug in. Sometimes I have to plug in/unplug/ plug back in... connection isn't always perfect- so it doesn't always initiate on the first plug-in.

This is an upgrade added to my old pickup, which my son now has. We’re both working on 30 year old GM pickups, and the only downside is not the fault of the head unit. On this series of pickups, the factory head unit is way oddly shaped, and the upgrade has to mount in the center of the dash, where the cassette deck was. Despite being a bit of a reach, it’s easy to control, Apple CarPlay works a treat, and it brings a much-loved truck’s infotainment system up by 30 years.

Love it. Wanted something with Apple CarPlay for an affordable price. USB is only in the front but the overall design of the deck is exactly what I needed. Touch screen is phenomenal. Good functionality. Very pleased.

Works goo, but sometimes freezes. Apple carplay is very useful. Physical volume wheel is huge plus Pretty unfortunate placement of the USB output. Hard t reach to the volume if USB is plugged in . There is NO rear USB port!!! phone quality is really bad. Microphone pick us a lot of internal / extraneous noise.

An awesome product by Sony. Clean clear thunderous bass rocking my vehicle now. Easy to navigate and all the nice features that I need at a great price.

This screen is bigger and crisper than I thought it would be. It runs Apple CarPlay really well. I had small audio issues in the beginning when it was installed in my 2012 Cruze by Geek Squad, but that was soon resolved. I aside had a few steering wheel control issues but it was also resolved same day. All in all, I’m very happy with the purchase for my vehicle to make it feel brand new. I highly recommend this for older cars that you want to be able to have Apple CarPlay support. If you plan on not using CarPlay and using the default Bluetooth then it also works well.

This thing is great! I had previously had the Pioneer 1770 NEX and it doesn't work with CarPlay voice messages. So I swapped it out for this and it is night and day difference. The visibility is great during the day, the sound is better than the pioneer and the volume knob works great. I am so happy with this. It just works the way it should and I am happy to recommend this. I was worried I wouldn't like the resistive touch screen but its honestly not a big deal at all. It works just fine for carplay. It does lag a bit with CarPlay but its not terrible.
